- DotNetWill, on 11/06/2008, -6/+56"My problem with the "I'm a PC" campaign is that it's just more of the same. Microsoft is trying to win on muscle and marketing gimmicks, not merit"
Yeah good old Apple only stick to marketing the merits of it's products. The last ad they made took a cheap shot at MS spending money marketing Vista, that is an awesome selling point of the Apple Platform.
Oh wait, wait a sec..... - wukillabee, on 11/06/2008, -18/+61and i cant stand those lame apple ads, at least the MS ones are accurate and not full of fud
- Modestexcuse, on 11/06/2008, -3/+35*pointless ramble about why I prefer my OS of choice*
- commentposted, on 11/06/2008, -3/+34"She's absolutely right. But every time I read that comment I imagine Steve Ballmer, and then I can't eat for two hours."
Awww, man. I was just about to eat. Curse you, imagery! - SirChasm, on 11/06/2008, -2/+28What a crap blog post. Absolutely pointless.
- bixby1, on 11/05/2008, -29/+53I really can't stand those 'I'm a PC' ads at all.
- Paulorific, on 11/06/2008, -3/+25Yeah they're weird, but the I'm a Mac ads are equally retarded.
- ileftfark, on 11/06/2008, -3/+24Computers suck.
- Falldog, on 11/06/2008, -0/+20I use an abacus for all my computing needs. Plus, it's Doom 3 ready.
- ohplease, on 11/06/2008, -4/+22
If you're a regular person that doesn't know how to use computers, you probably use Windows.
If you're a douchebag that doesn't know how to use computers, you probably use a Mac.
If you're a douchebag that does know how to use computers, you're probably running Linux. - inactive, on 11/06/2008, -1/+17people who are loyal to an OS are retarded. end of story.
- Rockkybox, on 11/06/2008, -5/+21The mac ads are much worse, the PC ads were made in retaliation to the never ending bashing they got from smug mac ads, not a very good retaliation, but at least they didn't start it
- HookmasterCH47, on 11/06/2008, -2/+17Google is the silent killer of MSFT. Apple is just that guy that you shouldn't even listen to but gets under your skin anyway.
- WilliamAdama, on 11/06/2008, -4/+18The mac ads are complete and utter lies 95% of the time, they prove that you can lie on national television. It's just like beauty commercials and those fake lawyer commercials, false advertising.
- pathouston22, on 11/06/2008, -0/+13I use the OS that best fits my needs. Amazing concept eh?
- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -3/+15And I can't stand the Mac guy.
- speedy11131, on 11/06/2008, -2/+11*pointless criticism of Modestexcuse's OS of choice*
- johnomaz, on 11/06/2008, -4/+12pretty much. Vista isn't a bad OS. I've been using it since day one, I use it at work even though my school district is still on XP (damn expensive to upgrade all our machines) and haven't had any issues. No crashes, no BSODs, nothing. The most I have issues with is when I get "tinkering" in the OS and mess something up myself.
- Tanktunker, on 11/06/2008, -1/+9I was playing a fantastic game of Company of Heroes not an hour ago, BSOD'd right in the middle.
Then again, if I were using a Mac I wouldn't be playing CoH in the first place, I probably wouldn't be doing anything but surfing the internets or staring blankly at the wallpaper because I don't do graphic design. - inactive, on 11/06/2008, -2/+10They've taken as much from Xerox and Linux as they have from Apple. But then again, Apple and Linux have both taken ideas from Microsoft (not just Windows, but seriously, OpenOffice is just.. well... Office). Ideas go back and forth. How they're marketed and how you pay for them may change (assuming you GPL users donate). But that's any industry. I don't think anybody ever accused Toyota of copying Ford with the use of Ford innovation like the "car" and "steering wheel" and "horseless".
- Modestexcuse, on 11/06/2008, -1/+8*pointless rebuttal of speedy11131's comment of my OS of choice*
- redwallhp, on 11/06/2008, -2/+9I've been using Windows since Win98, and I know what I'm doing. (I'm the one everyone turns to when they have computer problems around here.) I have experience with Windows, Linux, and the Mac OS. If you think there's nothing wrong with Vista, there is SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.
- jerrycan, on 11/06/2008, -0/+7Are those the only options?
- mcfara, on 11/06/2008, -3/+10The Mac ads are inferiorating to anyone who has actually used Vista on decent hardware. I'm a web developer (on my comp all day) and I've been running it for over a year and overall am very satisfied...certainly the best OS I've ever used. All 3 OS's have their pros and cons, but Apple makes it look like there's no good reason anyone would ever use a PC. Gaming stands out as one absolute advantage that PC's have. No one in their right mind would game on a Linux or Mac box.
- mongoh8fire, on 11/06/2008, -0/+7As a sysadmin, all computer users are douchebags. But I mean that in a good way because if it wasn't for all you douchebags, I wouldn't be paid.
Thanks, douchebags! - midtown, on 11/06/2008, -0/+6People like you forget about the large amount of people with older computers that simply can't run it and aren't going to buy a new computer just to upgrade their OS. I tried it on my laptop, and liked it conceptually more than XP, but it ran unusably slow, while at the same time XP and Ubuntu run like champs. In that very real sense, it sucks to people like us and is a severe regression.
- Naieve, on 11/06/2008, -0/+6Turn down your overclock, or fix your hardware...
- DangerCollie, on 11/06/2008, -0/+6I don't hate any company or OS. I enjoy moving off MSFT products very much because my computing environment runs a lot smoother. That's not as much religion as practical convenience. We don't have any trouble getting work done around here without Windows. In fact, I'd argue we spend more time getting actual work done...with enough spare time to spend lunch here. :)

- KSUdesigner, on 11/06/2008, -2/+7If you love irony so much you should probably go look up the definition of the word. What you just described is not irony.
- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -1/+6That's a very broad generalization, care to elaborate?
- dizzy113, on 11/06/2008, -2/+7I think microsoft is actually more afraid of google than apple, but apple is a close runner up...and linux, just isn't there quite yet even though it's pretty awesome.
- tushyd, on 11/06/2008, -0/+5d) you tried it and your personal opinion is that you don't like it
- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -2/+7you are aware that microsoft had stock in apple to make sure they survived so they wouldnt be a monopoly. So, i believe its the other way around. Apple wouldn be in the ***** right now if it wasn't for microsoft.
- marksands07, on 11/06/2008, -1/+6"The fact that a design uses inheritance and polymorphism doesn't make it a good design." - RIP Jerry Seinfeld Ads
- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -0/+5Apple started it.

- wolfing, on 11/06/2008, -0/+5I use Windows 3.1 but it was discontinued :( I wonder if I can switch to OS/2
- AdmiralAcbar, on 11/06/2008, -1/+6I'm a regular person that does know how to use computers. Where do I fit in? :(
- briLo, on 11/06/2008, -4/+9I think Maddox (bestpageintheuniverse) said it best.
One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't: SHUT THE ***** UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ma ... - JCEEZ, on 11/06/2008, -0/+4If i took off all my programs, ran just a browser, ms-office, itunes, and adobe suite on my PC (fully paid for also) it'd run super well without any hiccups. But instead I have like 19391 programs on my PC, mostly downloaded off the net, have a bunch of open source programs, play games etc, so now I get slow downs and some errors now and again.
I had a mac-book for work before and it was pretty sweet, it made me look really cool in airport waiting rooms, but 1/2 the time when I emailed files to people, I had to walk them through how to open them on their PC.
I don't hate MACs, they are good for what they are intended to do...they just don't do that much. - inactive, on 11/06/2008, -2/+6Linux "isn't there quite yet"...
Not sure where that comes from, to be honest. Last company I worked for used Linux as a desktop and a server platform. And it wasn't a "tech" company, either.
My current company uses Linux as a server platform.
Linux is not a company, however. And it's not going to be designed around taking marketshare from Microsoft. That's a corporate notion, not a free software one. Red Hat can try, but Linux is more than Red Hat. It's diverse. - WilliamAdama, on 11/06/2008, -0/+4What bothers me is the amount of mac fanboys and girls that go out of their way to hate on Microsoft when they don't have any affiliation with apple. You know you're a tool when you defend your OS to death meanwhile you're not being paid by apple or anyone else, you do it "just because". Steve Jobs must love you guys, all the free marketing he gets from those fanboys/girls.
Same goes for anyone else but mac fanboys and girls are the ones that started it, Microsoft users never went out and started hating on anyone else. - farfromsubtl, on 11/06/2008, -1/+5I can't even turn one of the darn things on!
- tizzleG, on 11/06/2008, -0/+4*loud noises*
- Recidivus, on 11/06/2008, -2/+5Considering OSX is made to only run on Mac PCs, the cost associated with the OS is much higher than just list price. You normally can't go out, pick up OSX, and just install it to any computer you happen to have laying around.
Comparing hardware and OS costs combined is perfectly reasonable. - osabr22000, on 11/06/2008, -1/+4He irritates me with how grimy and unprofessional he looks. The implication is the man collects unemployment and lives in mommies basement(he can't afford rent after buying an apple) when compared to the PC who's in a suit.
