- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15This is not an advertisement by Microsoft, it's from https://www.zune-arts.net/ Can we stop with the fanboy ***** now?
- sorahn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11this was the second ad on comingzune.com (about 4 months ago, as the poster above me said) are people getting their internet in the mail now or something?
- SniperCS, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Sorry but this is about 4 or 5 months old now..
- gronne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Thank you.
- MrSarcasm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You know, if some open source product had this ad, it would be titled "super cool and state of the art" instead of "strange".
But oh, wait, it's a story about Microsoft - we must say that we don't like anything they do if we want this story to hit the front page!! - gronne, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7No, people are just so desperate to hold on to the idea that buying a certain brand of MP3 player can make you cool that they're running out of legitimate reasons to bash the competition.
- wush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3it's a pretty cool ad, but I guess we're supposed to bash it since it's Zune?
- darkjedi_66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3oh yeah and www.zune-arts.net is a site for Creative Studios around the world to collaborate and create artwork for the Zune. The "penis" ad, as its been now nicknamed, is actually just an motion piece created by Tokyo Plastic and is not really gonna be aired whist the "Two Little Birds" ad is a proper advertisement designed by a studio called Motion Theory - www.motiontheory.com/work/microsoft-zune_two-little-birds , who also did the new campaign for HP's new laptops.
- AudioMove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man that is a ***** savage add. Id nearly buy one after that.
- Shawnosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How does the release of an ad qualify as news? I don't see "Tampax's new dry weave ad released!" on the front page. So why do I see this? Are we really so lame that we eagerly await a new ad? I remember back when advertisers had to try and get us to want their products. Now we have armies of fanbots who F5 the marketing site of products all night in the hopes of a new glimpse.
- darkjedi_66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is not new, in fact this is one of the very first ads to be released for the Zune, and its showing the wifi sharing capabilities of the Zune, which no matter the restrictions, is unique to the Zune. if you look at it properly, you can see the small bird share a song as indicated by the blue line that travels to the Bigger bird, and causes the bird to Rock out and then they both rock out together. If people could accept the fact that Microsoft is finally trying to do things right, they would notice how they have been actually releasing some cool products.
Before someone replies to this with the now standard "Hey M$ fanboy, go install vista or something!!", I already HAVE vista installed and i love it, thank you very much! and when it comes to mp3 players im loyal to iPods and i dont think id switch anytime soon! - markperia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2BTW for those dense minds that can't seem to get the commercials, its a play on the sharing and socializing theme of the zune. I dunno why a lot of people don't get it. I mean I agree that the commercials are weird but the message comes across pretty clearly.
- lvdrummer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hell yeah! Burning Birds ROCK!!
- markperia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know that the zune is a POS hardware but their "ads"(https://www.zune-arts.net/) are actually really creative. Id rather see those than the awful to sub-par commercials on TV right now and that includes the ipod ones.
- berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4disturbing? how about way cooler than any of those piece of ***** ipod commercials..
- ronaldb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"this was the second ad on comingzune.com (about 4 months ago, as the poster above me said) are people getting their internet in the mail now or something?"
That would certainly explain senator Steven's remarks... - flanakin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is probably one of the best ads I've ever seen. I love it! The music rocks and it's perfect symbolism of the key differentiator between the Zune and other media devices: sharing.
- deanlowe, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5The Zune has some of the most ***** up ads I've ever seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfgBf_SExmU - mocomedic, on 12/16/2007, -0/+0awesome ***** ad but i never saw it on tv!? just saw it now and was currently searching for the music.....anyone know?
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not sure what feature that was supposed to be advertising, but that was quite mild when compared to the other adds we have seen.
maby the flames were showing what happens when the 3days/3plays DRM expires. - GregMote, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Are you saying zune-arts.net is not Microsoft? In what way is it not Microsoft?
- PuffyC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Microsoft is not on crack. The corporation are not on crack either.
- echoforever, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'm watching this when I'm alone. The previous ad (the one with eyes) made me receive strange looks from people around me.
- Horseboiler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1So if I get the Zune I'll catch fire and then my skin will be replaced by a more colourful version of it and then suddenly catch fire again.
- cypre$$, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1So burning the bird is a good thing? It might have some deeper meaning and foreshadowing maybe it represents the fact that you get burned if you buy a zune or a virus that could be send to you through the wireless
- scottfarner, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2It is a better ad then the Penis vs the thing with eyes ad.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfgBf_SExmU - Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Anything's better than a penis with an eyeball.
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4http://techzo.com/wordpress/?p=242
As a friend has said, "Hmm, a walking penis interacting with a hideous monster. That's not weird; that's just Ballmer and his Zune." - trylleklovn, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Proof that Microsoft, indeed, are on crack.
