If they were looking like Mac they would do crazy things like version numbers! The problem with "Windows Vista" is it doesn't convey to anyone that it's better than XP. Which in turn didn't convey to anyone that it was better than 2000. The year naming was bad, but at least it was obvious to the consumer when they were upgrading.
