I'll be so happy when this stupid trend dies. Sorry, st.upid tr.end di.es. - VijchtiDoodah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+60Awesome concept, until you get nude pics from some dirty, fat man with a bald spot named "QT4U."
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51Hello, friend.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Einhanderkiller/locke.png - xcomputerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30And that's exactly why this site is doomed to fail, as innovative as the idea is.
Most people can't even spell the word "fortuitous" correctly. Not to mention remembering exactly where to insert the periods. - Shinnokxz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32My guys looks like a convict. Are you supposed to be able to see them right off the bat?
- PiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28Time to go pretend to be an attractive female.
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Congrats! - Looks like you got yourself a pen-pal from prison?
- arunforce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I'd just be happy if icio.us would redirect to del.icio.us.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Finally pedophiles will have to WORK for their rewards
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Looks like a match made in heaven. You can make some sort of Locke sandwich. Guess who the meat is!
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Why does everyone seem to think "del.icio.us" was the first site to do this?
Did everyone just forget about "goatse.cx"?
Actually, now that I think of it, most people have blocked that out of their brains for life... even the memories of it existing, apparently... - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -9/+28Just because I can, I, Hindu_Wardrobe, am going to BURY--yes, you read that correctly--Kevin's comment.
Bury me while you can! Hahahaha!
But really. I've noticed any comment he makes gets like 10 diggs within 2 seconds. I have nothing against the guy (I'm also a victim of the Kevin Rose Comment Digging Syndrome), but jeeze. He could make a comment that consisted of "LOLZ UR ALL FAGS MYSPACE ROX LOL LOL" and you'd all digg it anyways (I know I would). It's a good life on digg. - dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+27"Awesome concept, until you get nude pics from some dirty, fat man with a bald spot named 'QT4U.'"
No, no. It's dirty frat boy. :) - Fett101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Didn't you know? Every girl online is actually a man. I thought everyone knew that by now.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18..he doesn't look very friendly :-(
- nerd05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18A lot of the whole pe.riod na.ming concept probably is due to domain availability. I thought it was kind of neat when del.icio.us did it, but it would be nice if people could stop with the blatant mockery of other people's ideas.
- largobargo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18This will be a great way to make friends from nigeria.
- threepio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17You got him too eh? Creepy. I think I found where they buried Jimmy Hoffa :-S
- ScaredNowRavi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Unfortunately for all of you, I was really a guy. Pwned.
- HadjiQuest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I think digg broke the "randomness" of this whole concept.
- schmichael, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Am I the only one who thinks having to resort to a web 2.0 site with a silly name to meet people randomly is unbelievably lame? Try going to a park, concert, pub, *outdoors* You know, where people are.
- jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I think the novelty of this will wear off pretty fast, especially if the friends you meet don't fit your interests at all.
- PiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Oh man this is way to easy to abuse.
- ScaredNowRavi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Hi Ravi aka Voodooengine,
I was the friend you're "***** scared" of.
Are you scared now?
http://fo.rtuito.us/member_photos/710189663.jpg
Loser - nitsuj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11That's probably the angle you'd see him from if you met him.
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13"Please...no more...NO MORE "WEB 2.0" NAMES WITH RANDOM PERIODS IN THEM"
Who the hell is spreading the rumor that these kinds of domain names are a good idea? - indeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Fort.uito.us? For.tuito.us? Deli.cio.us? I can never remember where the arbitrary '.' lands (I'd never even use Delicious if not for the Firefox plugin). It was clever once, now it's just stupid.
- Shmoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It's a video of someone ***** in a guy's mouth from what I saw, please do not click on the link.
- heymark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What's interesting is, it only took me a few seconds to find out basically my whole "friend"'s profile with a simple Google search. Her username was unique enough, and she had a profile up on a dating site, as well as a myspace account. Hmm. The internet can be scary.
- kevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -44/+53Awesome concept, going to try it now.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11hey you can't say it isn't interesting though right? this isn't meant to *substitute* real friends.
- KruseyJohn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9who?
- MikeEnIke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Yea, that's where my expectations lie. Not looking to meet a girlfriend or a hot date. Just want to talk to someone new maybe someone interesting. I'm sure some dudes are siging up to find a girl, but hey I just want someone to chat with and share interests with. This could end up being weird, interesting, or fun or all three. You never know. Looking forward to it either way.
- Zoologico, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I hope you all are setting your expectations properly.
It's highly unlikely you will meet the hot babe you think you might end up meeting using this since I bet mostly guys are signing up, and any remotely attractive woman on the net gets enough attention everywhere else. She doesn't need to find another way for guys to harrass her.
The truth hurts. - Vst_kills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8if you look in the bottom right-hand corner they have implemented a digg submit button
- benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7when will the onslaught of all these stup.idwebsi.tes stop? i mean seriously this whole concept of a naming convention is getting played out.
- dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8This is true social networking! Great stuff.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17incredible concept.. "web 2.0" (sorry o'reilly, you *****) at its fullest!
- rushoffailure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I got a message without a subject, and I can't open it.
This whole site seems very "Web 1.5". - gringomasta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Dude i met this hot chick! She told me she loves me already. This site is messed.
- nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7What would happen if us, digg users, created a public gmail for everyone reading this, and a public account on this site? It would be totally anon. and random, and could provide interesting results??
Thoughts? - slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6why would I want to meet random people? the whole point of the internet is that you can communicate with people with the same interests as you from all over the world?
digg . . . so we can look back years from now and see this on a top 100 things that failed on the internet alongside the cue cat. - nicerobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wait a sec!
"What would happen if we no longer used things like looks, age, sex and nationality to decide if we would try and become friends with a person?"
Who the hell does that? I never look at someone and think, "hey, they're (American|(Male|Female)|32|Blond), cool, I want them to be my friend". I may have looked at a (cute|sexy) girl and thought a lot of things but that's not exactly about making friends. All my friends are people I've met through other friends that I like because they're good people. My experience with myspace is good evidence that you don't just stumble upon people that you want to consider a friend. Besides, people lie too much online. Face-to-face interaction is how I like making friends. Meeting people through other real-life friends. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7looks like voodooengine lost his only chance at communication with a female.
:'-( - domr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm fairly sure when Joshua Schachter registered 'del.icio.us' for his hobby project, he didn't think everyone and his dog would be copying it for their web2.0 (can I still say that?) app.
- abbbllooooo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You only can submit to Digg only once right? Why would they put that there? Just to pump this one up? Should be useless in a few days.
- nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Oh snaps, who's gonna get kevin?
- Rhine23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Well I just used a picture of my puppy to remain anonymous :/.....and the person i got assigned just had a avatar with a name on it
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's Web 2.0 BETA :D
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -2/+8Oh my God. After all these years, I only just realised "goatse.cx" is 'goat se[c]x'. But why does everyone call him the "goat-sey" man!

What is Digg?
