- misterpony, on 10/10/2007, -4/+154"Everything that can be invented has been invented." -- Charles H. Duell, Commissioner, US Patent Office...in 1899
- CaptainNoPants, on 10/10/2007, -3/+117Mark Cuban: I've bought everything so nothing is fun anymore.
- Ned613, on 10/10/2007, -7/+83I find it amusing that Cuban is still referred to as an "maverick investor." I would suggest "Internet has-been." Obviously, Mark never had a Digg experience.
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -4/+50By "boring" he means a maturing market that doesn't have rapid changes. Happens to everything.
- str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -3/+42That's because Mark Cuban only visits sites created or affiliated with Mark Cuban, even narcissism grows old..
- strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -4/+43I'd rather be a billionaire "Internet has-been" than a digg user, but that's just me.
- granolajoe, on 10/10/2007, -7/+38It seems like there are some Mark Cuban monkeys burying down negative comments about the jackass
- omnis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+32Mark Cuban is dead, and buried for being inaccurate.
- dallascorbin504, on 10/10/2007, -6/+33Mark Cuban= Former loser who got lucky and thinks he is above and beyond all because of his fortune. How many other owners do you see running on the court and taking all the attention away from their own team and players? not many. ***** YOU MARK! you're boring and the MAVS suck ass!
- Zackypooh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26BREAKING: Nobody cares what Mark Cuban thinks.
- lordfoul, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25Cuban is a loud mouth snook.
- Gadren, on 10/10/2007, -5/+24"God is dead."
Does anyone nowadays even know what that quote was even supposed to MEAN?!" - notque, on 10/10/2007, -7/+25The NBA is "dead and boring"
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19He can buy me a fully furnished house, a new car, and a big HD tv then watch me enjoy it.
- Godlike, on 10/10/2007, -4/+18I am pretty amazed that anyone at all has a 'favorite' billionaire. How the hell did we ever create a society where we would idolize those who have excess and ignore those who have less?
Sickening. - cnowacek, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19So are the Mav's, Mark.
- Bajeda, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17God is dead, History is dead, the Internet is dead, etc. etc.
Epic sensationalist claims are great for publicity. - r00tus3r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14I think he meant his basketball team. *zing!
- OBKenobi, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17Yet another wealthy imbecile. How can these people be so stupid and still become so rich?
- philovivero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12I call BS. There isn't a point of diminishing returns on cool new ***** on the internet. There's a point of diminishing fun because the corps have stepped in and made basically everything interesting and new illegal.
Where are my movies on demand? Music on demand? Where's my high-definition Zenra? Why doesn't everyone on the planet have a 3Gb/sec upstream so I can download home-made high-definition movies anytime I want from anywhere?
Monopolies and lobbyists have killed the internet. Very thoroughly. - SPRFRKR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11A famous piece of graffiti had:
"God is Dead" - Nietzsche
It was crossed out and below said:
"Nietzsche is Dead" - God - elikagan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11mark cuban also said that Youtube was essentially worthless. visionary.
- willis77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The same Cuban who pronounced the mp3 would die many years ago.
- Phatrician, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13No, when they say "maverick investor" they mean the Dallas Mavericks. http://www.nba.com/mavericks/
;) - RyeBrye, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9"...if internet speeds to the home increased to 1 gigabyte per second..."
I would love a 1 gigabyte line, but I'm assuming he was misquoted by a retarded author who doesn't know the difference between a gigabit and a gigabyte. - martinezmic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Coming Soon: his duet with Elton John
- cquinnd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9This.
Except the Internet industry still has the potential for rapid changes, we are just in a period where most changes are not as disruptive as they have been in the past (Web 1.0). Without disruption there is less risk, and with less risk there is a perception of less potential return on taking a chance with a new start-up. Less "overnight billionaires" like Cuban, but more businesses with long term growth potential. - Virak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Hopefully we'll soon have some method for immortality so that we can declare death itself to be dead and put an end to all this nonsense.
- strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12Seriously? Man did my opinion of him just drop dramatically. Not that I held him up that much really, but seriously, what an absolute loser.
- rolf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7This comment is a myth and a disservice to what Charles H. Duell really meant and a disservice to him as a person. You don't further the cause of truth by spreading lies.
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2843/is_3_27/ai_100755224/pg_2 - dukeeeey, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12Mark Cuban is funding the cinema release of Loose Change final cut.
http://www.loosechange911.com/ - CiXeL, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8branson has class. cuban's an ass
- lcmatt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8He's obviously never played multiplayer desktop tower defence then.
- mrgeekguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Okay, here is how I see Mark Cuban making the internet more exciting: Mark makes up a great site(that looks good on paper), and sells it to some stupid company like.....ummmm say Yahoo, for 8 billion dollars, who two years later shuts it down, because business wise it makes no sense. Thats how to make the internet more exciting to Mark Cuban.
- wholly2b, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Definitely not the author of this article. Ugh.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11Cuban is nothing more than an attention whore with money.
A very bad combination. - catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Right place, right time
- Rahodeb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7What would make you say that?
http://seoblackhat.com/upimage/cuban.jpg - fadeout, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7This from the guy who started HDNet...
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Of course. Nietzsche was professing his Christian faith by saying that God had died, but would rise again.
/sarcasm - digitaltodd, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Headline should have read: Mark Cuban, knows how to make a headline when the internet stops talking about him! Mark Cuban is boring!
- solistus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Does anyone else find it ironic that he declares the internet dead... In an interview on a web site?
He's right that bandwidth probably won't continue to balloon at the ridiculous rates we've seen over the last decade or so, but it doesn't need to. There is SO MUCH MORE that can be done with the 5-ish Mbit broadband speeds that are becoming common now. To declare internet inventiveness dead because bandwidth levels will level off is moronic. - Rikkochet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5(for anyone digging him down without bothering to RTFA, the joke is because Cuban bought the Dallas Mavericks)
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11After reading his blog, I'm forced to agree :p
- lyg82, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6$2.3 billion later........
- killdashnine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Just a few days ago we learned that "The Internet is worse than Nazis". Now it's dead? I'm confused!!!
Now what would be cool? FLYING CARS! - rheaume, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5And Im guessing, so will the thumbs up/down of your comment
- ksgant, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Fine...Mr. Cuban should consider dumping the Internet then. Live his life...and business life...totally without the Internet. Get back to us after a year or so Mr. Cuban and tell us how you were so right.
Seems to me he's desperate to stay relevant. What am I saying, was he ever relevant? Being a billionaire doesn't impress me anymore. The Olsen Twins are fricken billionaires. - hmunkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Dumbass read the date.
