- Grimdotdotdot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"if you can afford to buy a Dremel, you can buy the 'actual thing'"
You can get a Dremel from Amazon.com for $28. Hardly breaking the bank =] - MadOgre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4So this is just adding a pistol grip to your Dremel... making it an Assault Dremel and thus making it illegal in California, Maryland and New Jersey.
- rodbibeau, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3what is the point of this? it doesnt look any more easily controlled. i am obviously missing something here.
- longman2g, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i can see how this would help, but there are better ways of setting it up than that, and without looking so crappy
- theduke01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Lame story. Is this on the front page simply because Kevin Rose dugg it? Digg needs to tweak it's algorithm.
- Advenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's well worth the $60 to just buy the stylus. It's smaller and wireless. The grip is very comfortable and allows it to be held like a pencil for better control.
- rye425, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm sorry but that creation looks very cr@ppy. I don't understand how this is a digg when we have computers cooled by being submerged in vegtable oil and led bar tops on the front page. Someone just looks like they need attention.
- rafgar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You gotta wonder about the safety of a project that lists bandages as one of the things you need and ends off with "Change your bandages". Personally, I find the flex extension attachment (not sure what it's actually called) improves my ability to control my Dremel much more than something like this would, plus it leaves a hand free to hold on to whatever I'm working on (clamps aren't appropriate for some things).
- Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know, sometimes it's the small jokes that make someones day.. Thanks.
- colinmhayes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm still trying to figure out if Dremel's new drill press attachment is any better than the old one... and dremel keeps shooting me my email back.
- DigitalGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sry to say, but your wrong GiggleStick. That Really is Kevin Rose who dugg the story, I know this because when digg first arrived on the net he gave out his user name so people could see what he is digging (On his Blog).
And unfortunatly that is most likely why this story is on the front page. - genconkeeper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There are so many different types of Dremel type devices it is easier just to got to one of the big box stores and choose one. After going thru about a dozen over the years I have to with a higher end machine, better fitting means easier to use and less tiring. Less tiring means safer.
- jinexile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's really easy to slipp with dremels, especially if you don't have the fine precsion add-on that gives you a smaller elongated handle (like a large pen.)
- Arbinshire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Dude! This story is lame.... How'd it get on the front page? Oh wait... It's the dude with the 79 number after his name that dugg it ...
- green67, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1....cool mod....quick question(s).....does the motor on the Dremel have that much torque?...or is the mod suposed to allow you "pistol grip" style control..(i.e.a drill)...just curious.....thanks for the post..
- calebawilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that sucks, just spend the money.
- gmygmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You can buy a flexible extention. It will give you much more precise control than this contraption. I hope it was a fun project, though :-).
- PecanHead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I once made a hat out of a stick and a lobster.
- Genma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there should be some kind of humor section for diggs like this. never would I do this to my precious dremel. no digg for you.
- ehrichweiss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is the most horrible and unsafe looking "tool" I've seen to date. I've owned one of the flexi-cable extensions for about 10 years now and consider it to be money well spent but I guess a possible trip to the doctor for a tetanus shot must be at the top of someone's list right under the entry for building this junk. Can we "undigg" a story cause this one sucked worse than ANY comment I've seen here.
- marix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2duct tape and a stick can produce the same thing in a fraction of the time. no digg.
- BrandonAbell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Dremels are crap. Buy a Foredom if you want to do real work.
- eHardOn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0..what a dumbass. It's true.
- gunner1138, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Cool. And I hope the guy finds a bandage that can stop his bleeding.
- GiggleStick, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I'm pretty sure that's not actually him. Someone just thought that would be funny to impersonate him. He uses some other name on here.
