- KeyLimePie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't know how other players feel about this but I grew tired of Perplexcity oh say after the first 3 years of waiting for something 'immense' to happen in the storyline.
It's dragged on the initial mystery for far too long and I got the feeling it's sitting too comfortably earning a profit. - MoneyShot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow. How do I get my press releases on the front page of Digg?
- yzerizef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm going with 4.
- okiepoke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why is the title in all caps?
- synarchy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The pull of gravity is equal for all of them. The shortest distance is #2.
- giggsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Go Mind Candy.
I would highly recommend Perplex City (www.perplexcity.com), the game run by Mind Candy. - oliyoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome news, these guys have worked their asses off on this game, glad to see it's going to take off
- Nitro2985, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I expect that you're wrong.
Suppose you start out on a trip and you slowly accelerate by 1mileperhour/min over the course of say the first 30 minutes and maintain your speed exactly thereafter.
Now suppose later that year you take the same trip but accelerate at the rate of 30milesperhour/min over one minute and maintain your speed thereafter.
30 minutes into the trip, both cars would have been traveling at the same speed, and they would maintain that fast speed afterward, however the second car would have reached that speed much faster, meaning at the end of the first 30 minutes, they will have traveled further than car one. Now, at this point in my thought experiment, since the first car is not actually traveling faster than the second car, it cannot get ahead of the first car, resulting in a win for the second car as it will reach it's destination first.
The only thing that one might present as a problem with my thought experiment is this: Slope 2 and 3 both retain a slope after 4 has leveled out. However, we would need to know the distance of all the slopes (and their exact angles) to figure out when one would result in win over another.
Still, I'd put my money on number 4. - Hardcase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1THIS IS VERY "EXCITING" NEWS!
- KeyLimePie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for chiming in GuyP. Despite my claims I am supportive of the ARG scene, especially homegrown (UK) based productions.
I wish you the best of luck with Season 2 and I'm confident that my qualms with PXC so far will diminish as time goes on. You guys seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders! - dewfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah, its 4, due to the Brachistochrone curve http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brachistochrone
- Juxta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent news, from humble beginnings to world spanning global puzzle kings. Truly an innovative company, with some very novel approaches to both their products and marketing.
- TheOrange, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ace - I think this kind of game is something different for sure. Haven't played myself as I'm too afrai I'll get to addicted and not do any work!
- skenmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome. The money won't only be going to the PXC game, but also to fund other new projects.
- GuyP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1(note, I work for Mind Candy.)
Well hello, LimePie...
"I don't know how other players feel about this but I grew tired of Perplexcity oh say after the first 3 years of waiting for something 'immense' to happen in the storyline."
Well, one of the things about Perplex City so far is that the game itself has been massively over-extended past it's initial framework. Basically, we've made an eighteen month game from an initial nine month design, so if things have seemed a little stretched-out, that's why.
However! Season 2 - which this investment gives us the chance to make kickass - is obviously going to avoid these problems, with a much tighter, more disciplined framework. So aside from all the extra goodies we have planned for the game, the story and pacing is going to be a whole lot more engaging and fun to follow along with.
( Also, you can have a crack at solving that Gravity puzzle here:

http://www.billion2one.org/ - Pelapp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What's the answer to the picture shown ? I reckon 3... :)
- dewfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think all of the balls will get there in the same amount of time. Looks like the balls just accelerate at different points. Its probably one of those trick questions like " which one is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of rocks?"
- dguedo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks Like it could be fun though
- stevejobs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Who cares about this?
- jamester, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2aka ALL-CAPS HEADING "FINDS" LISTING ON FRONT PAGE
