- B0jangles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+52Log off the internet? I haven't used dial up in years.
- baldr, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31does anyone else see the irony in using the internet to spread word of a "log off the internet day"?
- Mimorox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24How else are they going to spread it? Besides, the people they're trying to reach are the people on the internet.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26No web site is going to tell me what to do.
- Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17"Go for a bike ride, go to a play, go out to dinner."
Umm ive never heard of these things... what website are they on? - Kamino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Cool. Now we just need a "stop making useless *-day sites"-day.
This guy is expecting a masssive reaction.. like a 70% traffic decrease on all internet exchanges, so he can download his pr0n faster. How can shove this nonsense up his hiney. - charlesjillian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The implication here is that being on the internet is "unhealthy" in some way. This is not true. What we as a society have in the internet is an incredible tool of free speech, and there is nothing wrong with using it everyday. Being on the internet doesn't preclude a healthy social life.
- takeyourmedicin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10tell me what the date is at least... then I'll tell you I'm not doing it.
- stevester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8aside from the topic, why did this particular site get dugg? there's no content, no date, no reason, nothing on it.
- Maxpower57, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8if we logg off the internet.... how will we know whats on digg?
how can one live withouth digg?!!?!!??!?!?! - andreo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Yeah, but... What if it's raining outside or something???
- filletophil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7will there at least be wifi in the park I visit?
- Speak, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9They just want to kick our butts in kingdom of loathing and ebay auctions.
- benhiler, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12screw that
- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7no counter strike?!?
- wilburx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5why does it gotta be saturday? sunday is 2-for-1 dance day at the strip clubs. i'd go broke if i spent all day saturday there.
- haigMeister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Then get wet, the rain is fun. (actually, i'd rather be inside even on nice sunny days)
- mycatsboots, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I think we should have a "Don't Buy Gas Day" that way the gas stations will stop gouging the prices so high. Gas Prices will never be reasonable again unless we do something about it. A Nationwide boycott would/should do wonders, for one day of a huge revenue loss would put them in their place.
(Well it sounds like a good idea on paper anyway) - davidmonaghan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm in my back yard enjoying nature as I type and my Mom is on Google Talk ready to be communicated with at any point. As internet connections become more available it enables us to access it while we are out and about, at dinner, riding a bike, visiting with family, etc. People use their internet connected computer as entertainment and as tools, to propose that we stop is like proposing to stop the use of any other entertainment device or computer for any amount of time. In my opinion it's not very thought out, besides that it's disrespectful to those using one to insinuate that the internet is somehow a less wise choice of technology to either entertain or enable themselves.
- hashkaran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6It's ironic that his web site is using Internet to prevent people from using Internet.
- jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What is this "real life" they speak of?
- dime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4THERE'S AN "OUTSIDE"?!?!
- AToMusK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4its this thing the sun makes, i dont really remember, i red it in a digg artical once
- AToMusK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3what if u live in a bad neighborhood???? if i go outside dancing and skipping, i'll get shot 5 times and my wallet will get stolen before my dead body hits the ground. nah to much work for a little sunshine.
- metacoola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3>>"How else are they going to spread it?"
Uhh...toilet seats and doorknobs? - adam.lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3More and more this is becoming near impossible. Nearly every device in my life is connected somehow. This day should be entitled "Be Amish for the Day".
- vvvv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is a great idea, because we all know how detrimental and alienating our society's dependence on technology is.
So, when's "Don't Use Indoor Plumbing Day" happening? - unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just tell me your true purpose, How much dinero do you want me to donate?
- VaderHader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey, going to a movie sounds good! I'll just check Fandango that day to see whats.... DANGIT!
:) - unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What the bloody hell is sunshine?
- panic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah I'm sure A LOT of people are going to do that... (end sarcasm)
- axecore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3im ganna start stay on the internet day, it will behuge
- redalert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31 day wont hurt them, and if you tried for any longer, people would need to stop driving their cars.
- kalphegor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.turnofftheinternet.com/
- pwrstick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How about "Thoroughly test your website to ensure text size compatibility day"
This is what I see: "We all love the Internet but once a year lets put aside our" - marksy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what about a "Dont be human day".. i think thatd be more fun. So we dont have to be responsible for the stuff we do.. We could swing from the trees and fling our ***** at each other. Mind you, isnt that what the internet kinda is?
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2NOOOOOOO... the audacity!
- bradsully, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2thank god for always on internet connections, no logging off for us. seriously though, wtf?
- kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yeah, they should update that site so people can actually SEE it without changing their settings :)
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a lousy website
- unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is sunshine like those light-emiting photons coming out of my 21" CRT ? ?
- SystemError, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2how am i going to find their site if i am "logged off"
it might as well be "eat a cookie day" because we will all do that - nudasveritas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2After reading ALL of these comments.. I've come to the logical conclusion that everyone who, for some reason, commented that they were opposed going outside for ONE DAY OF THE YEAR are simply 1337 hax0r3... and not a website, their mother, or a social life could convince them otherwise.
- AToMusK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2AMEN
- natorator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm alone in the Arctic, you insensitive clod.
- apache2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2***** that :P
I'd rather download some new porno to celebrate summer vacation :D - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Make a non-crappy website, and use some decent grammar, and then I'll go outside.
Oh wait, I already do. Hm how about that - a computer nerd who plays at least an hour of basketball outside every day. - unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I exercise every other day while reading my e-mail. I am normal I think....
- rcw3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Two words to anyone trying to tell me how to live my life to their standards.... screw you.
- unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know, i prefer not to go to this summer place. I enjoy the Artic lifestyle
