- jasperwillem, on 09/19/2008, -1/+39Lets get all hosting of torrent trackers to spain ASAP!
- hugolp, on 09/19/2008, -0/+37I live in Barcelona, and while this are good news, its too early to feel safe. The problem is that under today legislation p2p is not ilegal, but, and here comes the problem, SGAE ( spanish RIAA ) is lobying to change the legislation to try to get into the law the same stupidities that the RIAA demands, like ilegal sharing, legal and forced spying on internet users, etc... Even worst there is a lot of movement in this sense in the European Union Parlament, and soon they are going to aprove laws in this direction and they will be efective in all the EU countries, Spain included.
- Crisender111, on 09/19/2008, -0/+37The RIAA's & MPAA's of the world are getting slapped. Some good news trickling in from around the globe.

- bratterscain, on 09/19/2008, -0/+24Hey people, I can tell you where people are sharing weed. Over there!
Oh *****, I just told you where someone was doing something deemed illegal. Now I will have to go to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
Nevermind that you can use that info for good or bad, just lock me away for freeing my speech. - nomasteryoda, on 09/19/2008, -2/+25about time some country took a stand on free speech.. =D
- RMoore08, on 09/19/2008, -2/+20DO WHAT YOU WANT CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE!

- Kasot, on 09/19/2008, -3/+20Protip: Watch out for McCain!
- tyhwer, on 09/19/2008, -0/+13Today is a good day to be a spaniard. First McCain doesn't even know where we are (please keep it that way) and now this.
Yay for us! - homesickalien, on 09/19/2008, -0/+12One down...194 to go. Yay Spain!
- Darkaged, on 09/19/2008, -0/+11CAPTAIN PICARD DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS SITUATION
- s4g4n, on 09/19/2008, -0/+10Time to anchor the pirate bay ship to Ibiza.
- Narcowski, on 09/19/2008, -0/+10Why would linking to a Star Trek character be illegal?
- FreddieD, on 09/19/2008, -0/+8Looks like TPB has a good backup plan should Swedish law get changed!
- toyrifle1, on 09/19/2008, -0/+6 Viva La España!!
- DaviDTC, on 09/19/2008, -2/+8"The court’s decision is final and cannot be appealed."
"However, the entertainment industry - including but not limited to Columbia, Disney Company Iberia, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner, Universal, Paramount, Sony and MGM, did not accept the ruling and appealed the decision."
HAHAHAHA - DaviDTC, on 09/19/2008, -0/+6It doesn't mention anything about d/l the stuff being legal, just hosting the links being legal.
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -0/+5Conquistador?
- TalentedMoron, on 09/19/2008, -0/+5Guys, does that mean if anyone in North America downloads stuff from that site is OK too?
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4You're going to do what you want either way.
- moethelawn, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4Time to warm up on my spanish
- KableKiB, on 09/19/2008, -0/+4Torrents don't fail, eMule fails.
- Slade605, on 09/19/2008, -1/+5Can you imagine World of Warcraft's P2P patch downloader, I am pretty sure that that is legal. Also what about Linux Distros? Linking to legally free things would never be considered illegal.
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -0/+3ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
- widgetmaker, on 09/19/2008, -0/+3Well yes, but it's a lot hard for them to go after all the obscure foreign servers hosting the stuff than it would be for them to just take down the big indexers.
- TalentedMoron, on 09/19/2008, -0/+3Thanks for the replies pals.
- nafnosseb, on 09/19/2008, -0/+3yep its legal, and you can tell them nafnosseb said that.
- jonshipman, on 09/19/2008, -0/+2YO HO HO! We've won boys! Shift sails towards Spain an' may th' winds be at our backs!
- lateralus, on 09/19/2008, -1/+3This is why McCain hates Spain.
- toyrifle1, on 09/19/2008, -0/+2I`m ok with it.
Yarrr!! - sgtawol, on 09/19/2008, -0/+2You. Are. A PIRATE!
- widgetmaker, on 09/19/2008, -1/+3They appealed an earlier decision to this court. RTFA properly.
- enrq, on 09/19/2008, -0/+2this is really big news...good. I can already see the stock prices of spanish web hosting companies going up. *****, now I know where I should take my money.
- handheldchimp, on 09/19/2008, -0/+2Well then...It looks like it is time to move to Spain.
- ErickStevenson, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1Yay victory for P2P!!!! Too bad it's not here in the US.
- LordPhoenyx, on 09/19/2008, -1/+2Read article again!
It says they appealed the 1st decision.
It was the second decision they came yesterday that cannot be appealed - aereaus, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1Ummmm.... McTaco? Yuck!
- eminn3m, on 09/20/2008, -0/+1This is a milestone case, this ruling will definitely help bring business to a lot of Spanish hosting companies especially if Sweden doesn't turn out to be the safe haven people have hoped it would be.
- homesickalien, on 09/19/2008, -1/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5B3LRxXnjI
- Charco, on 09/19/2008, -1/+2Go look up a company Stardock. I bought Galactic Civ when I could have pirated it.
No DRM = Lower cost per unit = Lower price for end user.
I would actually say games are going multi platform due to.... profit *Shock*. They are businesses after all.
Oh and thanks for permission on the digg down! Don't mind of i do! - zeabu, on 09/20/2008, -0/+1You forgot there's also a very large movement in the EU Parlement that wants to make filesharing as a whole legal. Legislation until now, gives the impression the EU will not be repressive towards P2P.
Sigua descargando, mi amigo.
Visc(a) Barcelona. - twoeighty, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1Since when is the main reason for piracy because people think that they deserve it?
- LordPhoenyx, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1Ricky Martin is a joke
