- EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+95Although I don't think that Limewire is the best P2P program (search results filled with ads), I think they deserve kudos for having huge balls.
- poloacuna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+67"Lime Wire has demanded a trial by jury."
One of those you wish you could be picked for!!!! - Randinn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+60Oh the irony.....

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+48 Indeed....This is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
- whitehornmatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25You mean people use limewire for things other than downloading Linux distros?
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Give 'em hell LimeWire, Give 'em hell.
- valenciastudent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25I wish Limewire the best of luck.
I can't wait for the RICO statutes being put to actual use. The MAFIAA age needs to come to an end. - Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Dear RIAA,
The internet community has been wondering what it would be like to do this for some time now. This leaves us with just one question. How do you like the taste of your own *****?
sincerly,
everybody - atezun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Will I be able to download the court preceedings in .mp3 format?
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19About ***** time someone sued them. They have it coming. Hopefully LimeWire can rape the RIAA like the RIAA raped Napster.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -8/+27Digg me down :)
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19good luck trying to find impartial jury in New York...
unless they don't know anything about computer or ever owned computer...
but RIAA does sue people who don't own computer as well... - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19*Puts eye on Limewire.app*
- jblade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17About Time
- SniperGX1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15The limewire folks are really getting to the nut meat of the situation. The RIAA is in it for greed, not for the "rights of artists"
- kcopp87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Dang right. I'm all for legal purchasing of music, but seriously, the RIAA isn't exactly one to be pushing for scruples. Here's to Limewire getting a unanimous verdict.
Although I have to admit I find this very ironic... ;) - HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Let's hope for the best.
- blarneystone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Where can I donate to Limewire??? I want them to have all the resources possible for this one.
- Bigdee4933, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15I hope this goes somewhere, it's time for change.
Viva La Music Revolution!! - orgasmatron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14***** THE RIAA
- cloud3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10LimeWire is considerably more popular than people realize, check out these Google trends:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=limewire,+bittorrent,+the+pirate+bay,+pirate+bay,+thepiratebay.org&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all
Personally I would absolutely love to see their RIAA v. LimeWire case go in front of the supreme court. LimeWire never violated the law according to the Grokster ruling (directly encouraging their users to share copyrighted work). If the supreme court remains consistent, I think LimeWire is going to win. Companies should not be held legally responsible for the actions of their users. - JewFro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Serves them right.
- simcjt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8something seems a bit wrong here like so much irony it could quite possibly be too funny
- ZeonZumDeikun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7For the love of god, WIN!!! WE'RE ALL COUNTING ON YOU!!!
Holy crap, It's the Pirate Bay yet again! I almost feel guilty downloading LimeWire Pro through LimeWire itself. I tihnk I'm gonna go buy it. :( - Ryosen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7For the curious, the music is from the Lazy Town soundtrack.
Yes, I have children. - magical1492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Man, if Limewire wins, I think I would buy pro. Honestly, someone finally stands up to the RIAA.
- drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@DrakeGTA
Absolutely hilarious. Silly fun, yet it points out the fact that when people's freedom and creativity are suppressed by huge behemoths, it generally ends with the derision of the masses up to and including silly flash in America and often bombs in other countries. I like it.
Meanwhile the courts ponder at the Entmoot. - Hatchetdawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@DrakeGTA
Now if only Microsoft used that whenever those WGA checks failed - TRENT310, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't know, but I think that 'Buy pro, devving costs real money!' nag message on startup is supposed to mean something. ;)
- krinthekuz, on 09/16/2008, -1/+6i'd totally pull a video game tourney whine on this one to ensure getting on the jury. stick it to them so hardcore it's not even funny.
- AmidTheSnow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Although I'm against antitrust laws and P2P, still...
The RIAA = owned. - actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think the best method is to buy a t-shirt or two: http://www.cafepress.com/limewire
Other than that, I think they're making their money elsewhere. - wolfzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Where do I sign up for the class-action suit?
- kb9vgr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6well what you think they do after...
"the inter net is for P..."
its not about the music the mpaa is worried about the lost porn revenue - DiamondIce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I need to record that and put it as my start up and shutdown sounds, that was hilarious!
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4https://www.limewire.com/sales/english/content/forms/buypro.php
- Dmarzio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Finally someone with some financial backing has the balls to stand up to these nazi’s.
- bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I honestly don't believe this will make it, but I'm really glad its happening. If its a trial by jury, they'd have to get nothing but people under 25 to win. Sadly, most of the general public believes suing 12 year olds was okay because they were committing crimes.
- Ghstfce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I knew there was a reason I loved Limewire... Finally someone standing up to those criminals. They are one of the biggest known cases of extortion and blackmailing in America, yet no one really tries to tell them "you are breaking the law". I really hope a judge rules in LimeWire's favor, just so the kick in the balloon knot will cause the testes of these greedy money hungry lawyers to shrink beyond the point of being able to continue this "crusade".
Down with the RIAA! Die horribly of pancreatic cancer you bastards! - millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sharing is Caring
- teckieee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3ihope i get picked as one of the jury
- gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If they win it will be sweet. If they have decent representation I can't see how they won't win given them amount of public statements the RIAA has made about this stuff.
Also ... they are already a monopoly... how would one go about starting a company to _compete_ against them?? Is it even possible? If it's not, wouldn't this be enough to sink them right there? - knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2if they win, i'll download pro off of limewire basic.
- Germanopinion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@astrotrain
since limewire is java based and the source code is ready to inspect, please could you be so kind and name at least one "spyware" limewire is "chocked full" you are referring to?
(of course if YOU -after installation of Limewire- starts downloading files like "riaa_artist_-_crappy_song.mp3.exe" then you are to blame for being stupid and also not having made file extensions fully visible by default in Windows.) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm almost 30 and I'd stick to the **AA hard, my father fileshares and I know he would too..
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2now thats my kinda news
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, he is refering to the average 30+ or whatever age year-old not ones who know about this kind of stuff.
- Germanopinion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2please do not compare those "well-known and respected record companies" (RIAA-Lawyer lingo in this case!) with a bunch of evil Nazis!
THAT comparison is an insult to the Nazis!
As evil as the Nazis were, they had an deeper ideology behind their abhorrent doings
But the RIAA is just poor greed. All they care is money, money and even more money ! - StealthGod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's another trend for you... Limewire not as popular as eMule:
