And every time they add a new censorship clause the "broadcast yourself" moto sound more and more like a lie. I do understand though, the need of youtube to fit into a more conservative reality in order to get more sponsors and keep the site running. But all that will just make youtube lose all the previous purpose, won't it?
- GleenGlobes, on 12/12/2008, -0/+2Bit-torrents should be the new YouTube. Anything can be uploaded and sites like BTJunkie rank their homepage by the number of seeds and peers - the most popular/downloaded torrent will rise to the top.
- Sleepehh, on 12/12/2008, -0/+0The problem is no one wants to download a video when they don't know if it's any good, especially if it's got just the 1 seed from the guy who made the video. Video sites provide instant gratification; people aren't going to want to sift through torrents, choose which to download, wait for it to complete, open it in the media player of your choice, watch the thing, then go back to the site where you downloaded it to make a comment.
