techcrunch.com — There have been rumors that Digg’s Kevin Rose has been working on a new startup for some time, but he wasn’t talking. I spent a good amount of time this last weekend at FOO Camp trying to get some of the details out of him, but all he would say is that he’d be contacting us soon.

    innovation please.

    or even send a blind-carbon-copy or "bcc" to people?
    it would be like mail, but electronic.
    They could "reply" or "forward" this "electronic mail"

    ok, seriously, I bet the size limits are larger than gmail, and they let you send .zips. But you also want me to install something - nope. and from the reading between the lines, it looks like there might be something involving a p2p infrastructure. Which I don't freeckin need when it comes to email. I'll hold the final judgment until it comes out, but they have to do a lot of convincing.

    Kevin, don't ignore the fact that your main competitor is email, embrace it, describe the difference, don't hide it.

    Adobe Probably paid a good portion to get the word out, because they know Microsoft's Silverlight is going to be a step above.
    (Went to Silverlight ReMIX, went to Adobe Apollo Con) Adobe Air is just Silverlight backwards...

I got a facebook account to join the Diggnation group but havent checked it since. This Facebook/Myspace BS is just about stupid. Social Networking hit its peak and no one cared. Dont get me wrong, Social News great stuff. Digg will probably be around for a while, but I cant see this other stuff sticking around. They got the teen market and their attention span seems to be less then a year now for this kind of *****.

  • tsaylor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Just because he and a team of developers worked the kinks and inefficiencies out of a website written in php, you think he and a different team of developers should have no problem writing a separate, totally efficient and kink free web application in python? I think it's not only reasonable to do invite only, it's a good way to not piss off the user base with an unresponsive site.
