- shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -7/+338i'm not going to say nobody uses torrents for piracy, but it has many legitimate uses as a low cost distribution system... (i personally like to use it for downloading all my linux ISO's so i can help with the cost of distributing them.)
- Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -10/+205Good thing you can't use your iTunes music with anything else.
Well...almost anything else...with some effort...you know what I mean. - 98acura, on 10/12/2007, -3/+127torrentspy.com, thepiratebay.com, mininova.org
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -3/+74LMAO did someone just try to bump a post on DIGG? dugg up for the laugh.
- teknotant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+64Another torrent site down for a few hours until it is distributed among various countries. hey, ISOhunt, I hear sealand is still on the market.
- iceman0113, on 10/12/2007, -2/+60demonoid.com
- HunkOfLove, on 10/12/2007, -6/+59google.com: '"file name" +torrent' works better than many think.
- Bizbat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+51They aren't down and out yet. It takes balls to stand up to the MPAA, and IsoHunt's got 'em.
- Dhalgren, on 10/12/2007, -1/+43Bummer. I used Isohunt a lot. It and Mininova seem to provide the best files for me, and they don't have porn adverts...

Nothing is ever free. There is always some opportunity cost involved in everything that you do. Free is a figment of your imagination. :) - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37The *****! Boycott that ISP!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+40@ Form: Nothing is free? Psyche! The web sets all bits free. Content providers are going to have to figure out another way to make their billions because anything that can be put on a hard drive is effectively freed.

We might indeed be witness to the golden age of the 'internet' as we know it. I hope I'm wrong, if I have to buy everything in 30 years I'll tell my kids stories about suprnova, isohunt and how we were all pirates. - TwoWayMonologue, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35www.scrapetorrent.com
- Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28Well, your "friend" is a moron for doing it at school. Does your friend also pull out a cheat sheet for a test when the teacher is standing right in front of him?
- PueSi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26btjunkie.org
- steal_apps01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19isoHunt is really the best for odd indie music, if i can't buy it because of limitations of not going to another country to buy it or no credit card what option do i have.
Oh and there Canadian why does the MPAA think they have out of country juristrition, who's the ISP if it's roger's screw em. - zoxed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20> Why is it the first post on every story has to be so stupid?
Because only a certain type of person has time to hang around waiting to write a first post on Digg ? - ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18All linux distributions are ISO's. 99% of large legitimate torrents are disc images, of which the most common file format is ISO.
Welcome to the internet. I see you're new here. - Bleeblaow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19How "private" is a tracker if the members can't help but let the whole world know of its existence.
- fiver22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16who is IsoHunt's ISP?
- skater2968, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14they're usually open friday's. But have been closed the past 2 weeks due to server upgrades. Posting your e-mail address on digg = BAD idea BTW...
- aaron7e7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14"Sit back and enjoy the rest of the internet in the mean time, while it lasts." haha! my fav part..it's so true
- OneHump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13***** the MPAA and the ***** ISPs that cower to their will. Isohunt was/is a pillar Internet collaboration and has added more value to society than anything the MPAA is responsible for. Stuff like this does nothing to further their frivolous cause and should encourage us to avoid lining their pockets at every opportunity. They'll find out soon enough when their valuable "intellectual property" is supplanted by homegrown video.
- GiggleStick, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15AlanKC, please look up CONTINENCE so you can see why your post is so funny.
- chogie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17oh believe me i know where to get torrents it was more of a sarcastic comment. although i do hate to see a beloved torrent site go down
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13These MPAA clowns just don't quit..
- constantly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14"Why is it the first post on every story has to be so stupid?"
A thoughtful reply typically takes a bit of time to come up with. A thoughtless reply takes less time. So guess how thoughtful the first comment is likely to be... - pengu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13@hackwrench
actually yes it does:
from [http://www.google.com.au/intl/en/help/basics.html]
If a common word is essential to getting the results you want, you can include it by putting a "+" sign in front of it. (Be sure to include a space before the "+" sign.)
however in this case torrent is not a common word and therefore does not really need the +. - wafflez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14@crax...that was the best observation ever....i look back at other stories and just realized...it's so rare to find a non-buried first comment, perhaps the commenter is in a rush to be first?...WHY!??! +1 for you =D
EDIT: it's one of two extremes, often it's a witty comment that gets dugg up to like 200 diggs. - Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Try
"name" filetype:torrent
on google. - Sphonix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Yaar... there's no place in this "new world" for a salty seadog like me... Yaarr...
- jswinehart, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9@hackwrech
Google does use the + operator. Along with several others.
http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/refinesearch.html - Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8the **AA's think they have the right to shut down swedish sites, why would a canadian site phase them?
- AgoodChap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9"We will be back in operation once we sort out this mess with our ISP, or we get new hardware ready from another ISP (already working on that)."
hope is on the way... - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8IRC channel: irc://irc.isohunt.com/isoHunt
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Actually it looks like Sprint, and then Sprint uses Cogent.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@dextermanas
Admuncher? wtf? why would you pay for it? Get adblock plus & filterset.g, pwnt. Way to waste your money - ajcip2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9-670 diggs for IareKEVLAR. wow. that sucks. tough to come back from that.
note to self: never get in the way of people demanding free *****. - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Use adblocker... problem solved.
- danakin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8No.
- ZPWeeks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Dang, these guys came off a lot more responsible to me as far as BT goes.... Good community, not shouting HEY LOOK BITTORRENT == PIRACY!!!, and good quality in general.
Now that thepiratebay's backed off anyone wanna chip in to buy isohunt some sealand hosting? - iBrent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Torrentspy and Mininova are essentially the same sites. ISO>Torrentspy>PirateBay in that order for best ones out there right now.
- HunkOfLove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I agree with them, I truly believe we live in the golden age of the internet.
- greekgoat91, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dear MPAA,
You can't stop these Torrent trackers, but here's what you can do:
Make a a better alternative with a reasonable pricing system. That means NO DRM, movies that cost less than DVDs, HD content, and downloads available soon after theatrical releases.
That's it, I'm giving you guys gold here. Take my advice and do the right thing. - AlanKc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I just took off my blocker. most sites stay afloat using ads.
I guess my continence got the best of me.. - airmind, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Holy *****, I`ve been using IsoHunt for so long that I didnt even know about all those torrents sites. Well, we can always get something positive from something bad.
- k3ymaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@crax. It seems stupid people are quicker.
- Heroman87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I can almost guarantee it :)
- atomysk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@agilethumbs:
That would have seriously sounded better if you would have ended it with "Hack the Planet!". Better luck next rant. -
