- inactive, on 09/25/2008, -7/+65Yahoo Answers is actually pretty good, and this is coming from a keen Google user and admirer
I think it's one of the few things Yahoo has which isn't complete *****
They just need to fix how they index Yahoo answers and maybe tighten up the graphics =) - t3hmyth, on 09/25/2008, -2/+47http://imagechan.com/images/1da7a672fe69a735a554b4 ...
- sillygato, on 09/24/2008, -6/+49I don't really care for Yahoo Answers. You can sometimes find good stuff but most of the comments on that site are straight-up YouTube-esque.
- HairyGrapeNuts, on 09/25/2008, -9/+42Yahoo answers is Wikipedia for retards.
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 09/25/2008, -5/+32Who cares? Yahoo answers is a useless pile of internet stupidity.
Question: "Will Yahoo! sell Yahooanswers?"
Best Answer (chosen by dumbasses around the web): "PENIS PENIS BAABAABOOEY, POLITICS, LOL, A/S/L?" - twertyto, on 09/26/2008, -0/+17http://www.somethingawful.com/flash/shmorky/babby. ...
- Zounas, on 09/24/2008, -5/+21*insert babby meme here*
- gdrawlinson, on 09/26/2008, -1/+15Lets ask Yahoo! Answers...
- inactive, on 09/25/2008, -0/+14yeah, I posted it on Yahoo! Answers.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200809 ... - techmonkey4u, on 09/26/2008, -0/+13Yeah, you can't find this on wikipedia: http://www.digitaljournal.com/img/1/7/0/5/i/4/2/7/ ...

- seventoes, on 09/26/2008, -0/+11Funnest place to troll EVER.
- GorfTron, on 09/26/2008, -1/+11I bid $1.
- twertyto, on 09/26/2008, -0/+9Yahoo Answers started off really good. I used to go there daily from day one but after a few updates it quickly went downhill. The concept is great but the problem was that with each update Yahoo! was pushing too many of the 'gaming' aspects of Answers. As a result they started attracting the wrong crowd.
They probably saw the ad revenue skyrocket so they pushed things to increase that and now it is a total mess. - ACiDGRiM, on 09/25/2008, -1/+10Should have sold to MS.
- anarchyinthekr, on 09/26/2008, -0/+9that one's a car...$275,000...you're gonna want to hold onto that one
- anarchyinthekr, on 09/25/2008, -2/+11wikipedia for people who don't have the attention span or ability to scan a wikipedia article
- hartley, on 09/26/2008, -0/+9Not to mention you would also fail if you studied the material that is on Yahoo Answers.
- rkho, on 09/26/2008, -2/+10Yahoo! Answers is a piece of *****. It's populated by twelve year-olds and retards (not that you can tell the difference between the two groups).
- cowsgonemadd3, on 09/26/2008, -1/+9A bunch are from 13 year olds too....
- dn11, on 09/25/2008, -0/+7Yahoo answers is for people too lazy and/or stupid to do real internet research, and it's full of bad advice and misinformation. And that same demographic are the ones primarily contributing the "answers". The politics section is the worst of all. It has unfortunately high ranking on Google searches.
- bluedrake, on 09/25/2008, -0/+7Here is one way to get to the bottom of this story.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200809 ... - OceanSpud, on 09/25/2008, -1/+8I would rather just ask my magic 8 ball
- leerayIG88, on 09/25/2008, -1/+7omg....made me laugh.
- TheWorm, on 09/26/2008, -1/+7On the contrary, Yahoo answers has given me some great help on a lot of subjects. Particularly school related. A lot of times if I google something, the most useful and concise results come from Yahoo Answers.
- Aiwanei, on 09/26/2008, -0/+5Yeah level 3 is a real drag :(
- affiliatebroker, on 09/25/2008, -1/+6now that is a good question..
- rkho, on 09/26/2008, -0/+5From "Irwin W.", a "top contributor"
Yahoo is trying to sell itself to anybody who wants to buy it for way way way way way more than its worth, on november once allthe ad revenue from illection dries up, they'll be for sale to anybody who'l pay to have it hauled away as garbage.
What's the illection? Anybody outside of Yahoo! Answers' secluded community of stupidity care to answer? - jpregulate, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4this is the first time i've ever even heard of Yahoo answers. sorry guys, I'm a lil late. guess I'll check it out.
- Ultimatem, on 09/25/2008, -0/+4Yahoo Answers saves lives.
All of us knows of this. - meirav, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4Who would buy it?
- MillionsLivio, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4Well Drew, I bid $1.01
- psevium, on 09/26/2008, -0/+3It's a good -service-, but overall the comments leave a bit to be desired
- Clbull, on 09/25/2008, -2/+5Well surprisingly, Yahoo Answers is one of the services Yahoo does that isn't a complete crock of ***** so I think it does have a small chance of selling.
- egthareal, on 09/25/2008, -0/+3I'll take Yahoo Answers, I don't have any money but I do have this lint.
Okay you wanna play hardball, Yahoo? See this here, it's an I.O.U. just as good as cash. - ksmail, on 09/26/2008, -1/+3WikiAnswers is a much better concept. The wiki format helps to remove all of the stupid answers that pollute Yahoo Answers. WikiAnswers is fairly new but already has 5 million questions and given some time will reach the quality levels of Wikipedia.
- knowmonger, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I thought YahoO! answers was pretty successful.
- Jordan117, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I recommend AskMetafilter. They charge you a one-time $5 fee, mainly to keep out the trolls and the asshats. I've got the site on my Google Reader and the community there consistently turns up the funniest, most insightful, and most accurate answers to even complex or obscure questions.
Typical AskMe question from earlier today: "What made ancient Canaan special?"
Followed by lots of informed answers about Middle Eastern geography and agriculture in Biblical times.
Typical Yahoo! Answers question: "i live in georegia but i dont see rusia no where not even sound but they says theres tanks should i be worrie"
Followed by mean-spirited mockery. - centran, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I agree. I think the problem is more people need to use it. I will search for an question and the best answer is only voted up 1 or 2 times. There are not that many people using it for it to be a good social site.
- gottadiggit, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2The phrase Yahoo Answers is in and of itself an oxymoron.
- bigd063, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2That's ***** awesome.
- link2009, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2This is such a bad joke..
- benplaut, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I've never seen this one before... what the HELL?
- Wrangler76, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I always see questions asked about school lab questions that are due the next day on yahoo answers. It's very useful in that aspect.
- jeffvvisoft, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1Good question for Yahoo! Answers
- Ymeg, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1RIP Google Answers.
- affiliatebroker, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1wahahah... and i see, the answers ou got are top quality too.. so, the price of yahoo answers will be ... $0.01??
- macewan, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1Who knows - go ask them.
