- dantidote, on 10/12/2007, -4/+70Newegg Rocks my socks off.
Oh, and this is a second generation warehouse, there is one that is TWICE as big in Tennessee.
These strategically placed warehouses get me my stuff within two days, its like magic. - jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48Best company to deal with ever! They treat customers like a spoiled child that must be constantly catered to. They offer prices that would kill most retail chains and they have a website that ALWAYS works, never have I ever seen "under maintenance" and I use it at very odd times of the day.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46Best. Customer. Service. Ever.
A mouse I ordered from there came dead, called them up and 3 minutes later I was off the phone and I could send it back for a full replacement. - ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31I hath seen the top of the mountain.
And it is good. - noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30Rodalli: Clearly, you've never visited Irvine.
- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26The only problem with Newegg is that the customer reviews take their time getting to the point about the actual product because they're too distracted by how great Newegg's service is!
- Rodalli, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26I love Newegg, but can anyone tell me why every employee in the pics is Asian? Is there some vast surplus of Asian factory workers in Irvine, CA?
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23If i could get in there with a small truck I would be a mighty happy person for a while.
- axiomflash, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24I hate how when I order a mousepad, it comes in a 24"x18"x24" box and about 49 million pieces of packing foam. That, times 25,000 cant be good for anything on Earth.
- paulmike3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20All the pics on one page: http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=2694
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21 February 14th, 2006
- BoomDiggity, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17If I had a dollar for every time I recommended Newegg to someone, I'd probably be able to buy a new computer! Forget the truck, I'd be happy to get in there with a shopping cart!
- linuxwarz, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24Reported as dupe, is this the 3rd time its been posted?
- yellowperil, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16@JenadaeX ... I work in advertising... I cringe sometimes when I talk to copywriters... you sound like a copywriter.
Im just seeing how long it takes before I get dugg down. - treed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Rodali: Yes. Indeed, the nearby town of Walnut, CA is noted for being the only city in the US over a certain population where over 50% of the residents are Asian.
- linuxwarz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13didn't get the edit in time, will the poster please refer to the link below:

Blue Boxes = "Express" shipping, it's $3 more than normal. - insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11"February 14th, 2006"
Why? - itsmrdumass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9There should be a feature for dupe reporting that you can actually link the dupe to the original story.
- 06metzp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This repost was probably due to the story being mentioned in a comment ( http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Amazon_UK_at_Christmas_Amazing_Photo#c4457404 ) on a recent story. However, this is still an amazing look at the inner workings of newegg's distribution facility that I hadn't seen before.
- MacGyver2210, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Blue Boxes = "Express" shipping, it's $3 more than normal."
Ah, yeah, I'm an ass. I thought he meant products in blue boxes, not their picking crates. - killerofkiller, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10If i had a dollar for everytime this was on the front page, i would have at least 4 dollars...
- ohmar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Its newegg. They are worth mentioning again. Their site, service, and speed comprise the eighth wonder of the world.
- sphinx13, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I love Newegg. I buy everything I get from there.
- csimpkins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Am I the only one who always imagined it was actually bigger than this...?
- aceallways, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Now if only they shipped to Canada.
- Palliser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Old article... but love the egg!
- yaconsult, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah, but it means you have to pay sales tax on everything too!
- tendonut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@streetstealth
You are so right with that. I do have issues with customer reviews too. Typically, if the person writes in all caps and/or uses run-on sentences, their reviews become less respectable.
OMGZ I JUST GOT DIS VID CARD AND IT PWNS UBER GAMES I CAN PLAY WURLD OF WARCRAFT AT TEH HIGHEST SETTINGZZZZZ!!!!!!!!! BUT IT IT IS GOOD!
I get that ***** all the time, while I myself, when I feel a product isn't getting the praise it deserves, will leave a well written review that stays on topic and doesn't go on and on about how great Newegg is (as true as that may be). Also, will people stop blaming Newegg for shipping problems? If your Item is shipping from Jersey ends up in Cali, then back to NY where you live, it is the carriers problem, not Newegg. Don't review the item low because of that. ***** douchebags... - MacGyver2210, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think the appropriate solution would be to move out of Tennessee.
- Zedizdead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4To all the people yelling dupe. STFU!!! This is a great story, and it it was not on the homepage today I would have never seen it. It's not like people are going to search for "new egg" on a random day. Many people don't visit digg every single day.
Some of us has lives you know.... - EmailAddress, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yep... when you factor in tax and their shipping fees, getting a good deal at Newegg becomes very difficult.
At the very least Newegg is a good tool to help research the item you want.
One thing I dislike about Newegg is how people who review products kiss Newegg's ass WITHIN THE PRODUCT REVIEW.
That pisses me off. They should review the product and leave Newegg site review comments for sites like resellerratings. - sparkmonkeyz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here is an aerial view via google maps

I live in Irvine. Like much of Orange County, the Asian population makes up a large piece of it, especially Vietnamese.
New Egg is the shizzle btw. I ordered something on the 23rd of Dec. (regular ground shipping, not expidited) and it was on the UPS truck and out for delivery on the 24th. - johnstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I kinda suspected magic gnomes?
- calbear81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Margins in the tech e-commerce sector are razor thin, just because you drink at 4 in the afternoon doesn't make you rich.. it just means you've had a LOOOOOOONG day. ;-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you have a competent purchasing department, and some really smart software, you don't need to carry a big inventory (inventory is taxable, and it's not in a companies best interest to maintain a physical 'long tail'). If a product is on the shelf for to long, that's lost revenue!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10@ yellowperil
No, its just how good newegg.com's selection and customer service really is! Cheap shipping, access to customer reviews, good prices, HUGE selection, and a return policy that will make you go "Wow!". - craz3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@jstn
Same here. We obviously rule. - shadstein, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Rodalli: treed:
Irvine is approx 30% Asian.
http://www.city-data.com/city/Irvine-California.html
And NewEgg is a great place to shop. - JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How come the majority of their staff are Asian? Seriously, look at the call center and the workers in the warehouse. Vast majority are Asian. I've always had that vibe, too, when I called 'em.
- Maxpower57, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh my god its like every other warehouse i've ever seen
- dabolton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2on the building size issue, check out this new walmart facility near chicago.
3,200,000 sq ft, 1/2 mile long each
http://www.gallagherasphalt.com/html/walmartdstrctr.html - bigbchew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2All that and they still don't ship to Canada.
- spartan777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've spent at least 3 grand over the last couple years at newegg, but newegg a household name?
- MacGyver2210, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I, for one, welcome our new oblong thin-shelled overlords....
- MacGyver2210, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice, even with the RR tracks to just haul massive amounts of random tech crap. I bet we could put our heads together and rob a supply train instead...save the good folks at NewEgg the liability.
- adragons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For a warehouse, its not THAT big. But for a computer related one, its huge.
