- Barton71, on 04/20/2009, -0/+62You could not be more wrong. A lot of the people launching this attack are not affiliated to TBP in any way, shape or form. The actions of the entertainment industry, against TBP, are seen by many as an attack on Internet freedom, and the ability to spread information. It also shows the power large corporations have over politicians and the judicial systems in many countries in around the world.

What is going down in Europe?
* The European internet is being threatened seriously!
* The telecoms-package is a set of monstrous laws regulating the internet.
* Amandment 138 is securing a fundamental rights.
* If amandment 138 is excluded, internet will be turned into a cable-television system.
* This is a campaign organized to raise awareness of the telecoms package in Sweden. For all of Europe, please see blackouteurope.eu.
Save the internet - talk to your MEPs now!
* You have got until tuesday 21 April - 20h00 to call all Members from the ITRE committe of the European Parliament to ask them to vote for amendement 138 (renumbered 46) and reject any form of weakened compromise. Click here for a complete list of phone numbers and e-mail to the members of ITRE

The website still exists, the hardware still exists, nothing is damaged or destroyed, only time is lost. Just like a sit-in. - lutafin, on 04/20/2009, -2/+10You're a fag.

USE: http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.ifpi.org - xtmno3, on 04/20/2009, -0/+7Nothing says help the world economy like destroying all small Internet start-ups and turning Internet into TV.
Capitalism requires the ability for competitors to emerge. If you pass something that allows restriction on site access, it is only a matter of time until the start-up costs for a website are so high you can't compete with the big dogs. That path brings you to the same position Internet providers etc are at, where you have no competition, and service is awful. - thatdouch, on 04/20/2009, -0/+7***** IFPI!
