- arnar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29Are you kidding me? Why not spell-check the entire Internet while you're at it?
- Dhalgren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Only Hundreds? A good site would have thousands! :D
This would be really cool if it was built in a wikipedia format where you could scan and submit user manuals you have. Then their available manuals would grow pretty damn quickly... - cnt2infinity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hopefully this is not copyright infringement?
- toxicredm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@arnar, I'm so used to using wiki's that sometimes when I see a typo on another site I wish I could correct it.
- nailz420, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Wow!!! FREE!!! And I've been sending cash to manufacturers' for every time I download a manual from their support pages...
- duality, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I could have used this a few weeks ago, when I was installing my grandmother's new set of cordless phones.
Someday, I will be glad I dugg this. Until then.... - dexim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The site only has manuals from 9 companies.
- boycy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm with toxicredm on this one TBH. I keep doing it: spend a couple of hours on a Wiki then keep trying to find the 'Edit' button for other websites!
- Jams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I notice the copyright at the bottom of the page says 2005. I looked at the site and thought "great just what i'm looking for" then soon realised that it doesnt really have that many manuals on it. Also lack of a search feature sucks.
- cnt2infinity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice if they added a search option. I think the site will grow with support. Is this site hosted overseas? I noticed a lot of misspelled words. Great site though!
- mzkw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And it doesn't have anything for my Phanaphonic camera or Sonyi tv. :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, they can happily break stuff without one.
- arnar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@toxicredm: Hehe -- I hate spelling and grammar errors too (I'm not a native English speaker, so this applies more to my native language). I just found tsupersonic's comment so utterly useless and a waste of time (as if we wouldn't notice that typo if he didn't point it out) that I couldn't resist wasting some more time by replying :o)
I guess one could write a Greasemonkey script that spell-checks and corrects all web pages :o) - caluml, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Lovely idea. But not one single Nokia phone manual (probably the most popular manufacturer in Europe). Wonder why that is?
(Gave my Mum a really old Nokia recently, and she wanted the manual with it. I told her it was all self-explanatory, but she wasn't having it.) - hunden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Didn't have one for my old OKI printer :(
Good link though. - MrDan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it just me or are there actually no motherboard manuals on there?
I could really do with a site that has loads of motherboard manuals on, for I am forever loosing mine and then need it when I install into a new case or such (so I know which sockets for LEDs and PWR/RST etc.) - Floodle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Real tech's don't need manuals
- hisjap2003, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"...to do this simply do a 'man' on 'top'. That sounded really bad."
--one of my profs explaining how to man top in unix. - oldmanriddle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Agreed. I guess this works if the link has hundreds of manuals for equipment manufactured before the days of the intarwebz. But everyone knows real men don't need instructions, anyways.
- tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I don't see the big deal, I just found a spelling mistake to be funny. I was just trying to point it out, not make a freaking big deal out of it.
- SystemRocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet!
- richrmg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not even a email to submit manuals that ya may have in pdf format ( i buy something) i always look for a pdf version of it cant loose it as easy
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or Uniden cordless phone.
- duality, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, somebody else tried to install the cordless phones before me. When I got handed the job a few days later, the first question I asked was "Where is the manual?", and nobody knew.
- DDRSkata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1man camera
man watch
man printer
Haha. - timan72, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just Google for the brand name. In the last five years I haven't come across a company which doesn't put its user manual on their web page.
- mmania, on 12/18/2007, -0/+0this is also very cool...
http://www.manualsmania.com - theOster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1who RTFM's anyway?
- Bloekie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, it will come in handy one day, I hope ^^,
- Sukino, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Do they also have a page with funny copyright infringement e-mails? (http://thepiratebay.org/legal.php)
- spiderbazz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How can this be spam when nothing is for sale, no asking for survey, no ads?
- chrisdot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0May be not yet, but a good digging should help!
- mrnukem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great site and hope to see it grow. Very useful
- sriracha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Google ads sucked. They should have optimized to show products that users are searching on. You might get so frustrated trying to "RTFM" you'd click to price/buy a new item. Now it shows ads for other user manuals.
- Genius16, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2or you could have read the manual the came with the phones... :)
but honestly, i didnt find any of these useful a bit. these arent rare or anything. - agreywolf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Real Techs do read manuals. They just normally skip the 'Operation' section and head straight to the 'Theory of Operation' and 'Maintenance'.
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Also amazing that the last time I checked, this was the #1 popular link on del.icio.us
http://www.detritus.org/spam/skit.html
ha. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Me, and other people who aren't afraid to seek assistance.
Oh, and just to let you know, that is...
Reads the f**cking manual's
...that you wrote. No apostrophe. Perhaps a grammar manual might be the ironic cure here? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I was just thinking the same thing. I've never struggled to find a manual for any hardware for free. Hell I even have a combi boiler at home and managed to find a service type manual for that with about 20 seconds of Googling.
- DoubtfulSalmon, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6You monther f**ker!
- tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -37/+4At the top of the page, "User Manual and User Guide for many equipments like mobile phones, photo cameras, monther board, monitors, software, tv, dvd, and othes.."
Monther board... Typo, mother board
