- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12How about a blog with solid content instead of tons of advertisements. Thats what gets you traffic. Don't take a cue from most blogs linked on digg.
- Confuzed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You are absolutely right. And since most digg users are tech savvy and use firefox with adblock it doesn't help your add revenue anyhow.
- bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5for sure...
remove all the ads and just give the content away for free..
You can have my shirt too.. I don't need it.. just a withered rag to cover my scrawny bones...
It's a totally feasable long term economic solution. Hating ads is cool dudes! - h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Bloggers are the AOL of Web 2.0."
Web 2.0 is a term made up by bloggers. - h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Professional Blogger"? Is that anything like a professional Philosophist? That's like saying you're a "Professional Janitor".
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or as otherwise titled "how to spam google".
Penny arcade is not a blog. There's a difference between a website with relevant useful information that people want to go to, designed by a professional (i.e. penny-arcade) and some monstrosity created by a highly opinionated 14 year old girl talking about baking cookies and how unfair life is.
For the record, youtube isn't a blog either.
"You can "hate" a publishing *medium*, but it doesn't do much to show off your intellect..."
Neither does using a blog. - goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6"whats the point of blogging..."
Your thought should have stopped right there. - repruhsent, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4@goostoff:
Seconded. - toocoolsan, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1I have been reading a lot of SEO posts, as far as blogs are concerned I think this is the most crisp data any one can find.
- EziPortal, on 05/29/2009, -0/+0very great seo tips, well done..

Hey! Thanks for spamming! - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3What do you do on the internet?
I'm curious... I'm sure you check your email? What else do you do?
Digg? (blog)
Youtube? (blog)
Myspace? (blog)
Penny Arcade? (blog)
Blog is a word to describe a publishing medium... You are free to throw yourself to the corporate puppet media giant that will become of youtube, or the corporate puppet media giant that is already myspace, but I, and many others (kevin rose for example) aren't content with this power structure...
Hating blogs is cool... kinda like how hating alternative radio stations was cool... You can "hate" a publishing *medium*, but it doesn't do much to show off your intellect... - KB1775, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is an important article because it can also be applied to companies trying to get their web page to show up higher on search engine results. Since this is how Google makes all its money companies sould want to maximize the number of times their site shows up on searches. With 90% of internet usage coming through search engines making your site show up on top is crucial to your success.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This article is an exception but I hate dugg articles that only lead to a blog with a short paragraph, ***** of google adblocks that only link to the real article.
- lrgabriel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Meta tags!
- thestu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2this article really brought blogging as a means of increased business profitability to light. great potential with this tool if used right.
i've had enough of the ads on the few blogs i have read. thanks for the insightful article. - Confuzed, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Stop with the spam
- superBadGirl, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Every time this guy's blog gets linked to I wonder why his logo appears to be such a direct ripoff of Planned Parenthood's trademarked "nested P".
If he's a "professional" blogger, he should know better. - C0D3R, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Bloggers are the AOL of Web 2.0.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1whats the point of blogging if youre all about the money? if i were you sign up for pay per post :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2agreed. remove all the adds. diggers dont clickthru anyways. then, when you're in google, you can put them back in for googlers who need it.
