NO ONE SHOULD FEEL SAFE CLICKING ON THE LINK ABOVE POSTED BY YIYQ
Guy is a gaping penis hole... ***** you buddy. - mkoby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13It really pains me to see the comments for this article. The article is QUITE good. It is an extremely well written and helpful article for bloggers. Also, ProBlogger is an phenomenal site for bloggers who are looking to monetize their blog. The content offered by the site is usually top of the line and FAR from what I would call "spam"
Now, I can see where the "blogs are the cesspool of the internet" come from, but unfortunately you are S.O.L. on this issue. Blogs are on the internet, a lot of people have them, and chances are you read them whether you know it or not. The idea that an article does not deserve a digg just because it talks about blogging or is on a blog, is ludicrous. Isn't the idea of digg to have good articles make it to the front page? - goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Stop spamming your *****. Why is it that every time someone mentions the word 'blog' in a Digg submission, some people feel like they need to contribute by spamming their worthless sites?
If you can't bring traffic to your site, don't use Digg to attempt to. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I agree that 99% of blogs are crap. The same might be said for 99% of television, 99% of newspapers and 99% of magazines too. However, what I will *never* understand is why some diggers profess such hatred for blogging, even though Digg does little more than link to popular blogs day after day after day.
You should be thankful that bloggers are willing to create so much content, quality or otherwise. Without bloggers, you would would have nothing to digg, nothing to comment on. - cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11spam digg
- redthumb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Do you have to have a blog if you have nothing to say?
- stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5KMartSherriff, wouldn't you be part of this non-existent silent audience?
- KMartSheriff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Or no one to comment on it? Oh wait, that's like 99% of blogs.
- vrillusions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5what about the 99% of comments on digg?
- cmiz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6step one: think up slick web2.0 compliant name
step two: write post offering bland advice to other utterly anonymous blogs on how to become popular
step three: spam to digg ad nauseum
step four: profit!!!!!!
well guys, it's been a long ride, but now we've finally figured out what the ????? really is... - KMartSheriff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7The internet gives people a false sense that their diaries are popular.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9@Tuplex
At first I assumed it was spam and wouldn't have clicked it. Now I almost feel compelled :(
EDIT: Tubgirl :'( :'( :'( - arcangelmd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I thought the article was great. Thanks!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"actual journalists"?
Like the guys over at the New York Times and Weekly Standard who were simply making up stories out of thin air?
Like the media-opoly of corporate controlled television, radio and print?
What could be more patriotic than blogging? What could be a better confirmation of the power of the 1st Amendment? How does the decentralized model of blog-media hurt anyone?
Don't like a TV show? Flip the channel. Don't like a blog? Go somewhere else. Why is that not good enough for some people? - abilityinfo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great list and sound suggestions!

Yeah - it's ***** horrible... I've seen that picture once before in my life too and hoped that it would never again enter my head. Oh well, back on topic...
Good ideas... My blog is suffering so this is good advice. Another piece of advice is to realize that you may have to work on your blog for a year or more before seeing any real readership. I've been at it for a couple months and I can definetly attest to the fact that many people will get discouraged by the lack of readers and probably quit long before they've been able to make a name for themselves. It takes time, so stick with it. - miklevin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The guy is pointing out the latest free tools and advice. I'd recommend reading it before passing judgment. Anything sounding like a business or marketing tool is automatically condemned as spam by a vocal portion of Digg users who I doubt represent the majority. They just have the most time to play "let's pile on the marketing guy"--no matter how altruistic and sound his advice may be.
- rockinjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1great article. thanks for all the good advice.
- kurtwoodfin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How to market your blog in 2007. They forgot step #1....tell your mom you have a blog, and she will be the only person to visit your website because you have nothing of worth to write about.
- NessTheHero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2We could probably digg actual news sites created by actual journalists.
- jccalhoun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5If I had a penny for every digg submission that was submitted by soemone who only spamms their crappy site on digg, doesn't digg any other stories and never comments, I would be a millionairre....
- stuartdenley, on 10/06/2008, -0/+0Silent is violent yeah you are right blogs are the cesspool of the internet.
MLS - miguelojeda1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great article, great work, always will be people who will not agree with our ideas
- ninetyone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why don't tinyurl just block tubgirl.com and goatse etc.?
- lex10, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I feel like I'm being subjected to this guy's racket - that he leading me to things that make him revenue, not better bloggers.....yeah, there's some good avice, mixed in with myriad for-pay services....hmmmmmm. I don't think it's altruism.
- DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Honestly, I was considering starting a blog until I read all these comments... do people seriously not read anyones?
- Eoborges, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I think digg should have a blog section
But the digg effect could crash the sites easily - gypsi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This kind of junk will soon be a relic of 2005/2006. LAME
- electronicmaji, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3"If you can't bring traffic to your site, don't use Digg to attempt to."
But isn't this exactly what this site suggests? - neoform, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Spam? What's that?

- KMartSheriff, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6No one reads your blog. Honestly you blogger people scare the ***** out of me. I love seeing these elaborate blogs with huge meaningful posts on top of pictures everywhere.....and ZERO comments. There is no secret audience, no one cares.
- goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3No.
Digg is for articles, websites, and other information thought to be beneficial for the unit as a whole. Digg is not for blog spam. - neoform, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2"How To Market Your Blog in 2007"
By spamming digg, duh.
