- michaelbeckham, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Anyone wanna sell me porn.com for $10US?
- iAlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The ***** is that domain portals register tons of good domains that actually could be used. You have probably seen those with much ads. They are ruing the net.
- BrainiakZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Man.. I wish I would have bought some up before the rush. But then again, I wish I would have done a lot of things.
- Ryosen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm actually glad that most of the domains didn't sell. Screw the squatters. And that's not sour grapes, as suggested by antonio97b. I'm just tired of trying to register a domain for legitimate business use only to find it in use as one of those crappy faux search sites.
- Jo9100, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7minus 20$
- Jo9100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4At each time I land on one I react violently, just like spam and adware and all other ***** around
- Cymrubeats, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Idea.us - Not sold
SumoWrestling.com - $11,800
lol. Priorities, priorities. - AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Guess they could afford the Cameras.com but not designers. A salmon color scheme? Come on!
- warsteiner21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The place to invest now is .mobi.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm sure you mean $10bil.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+2It's no different from real-estate property tycoons who snap up the best properties in the best locations. They buy hundreds of properties and they later get snapped up by developers who want to build high rise apartments and whatnot. Agreed, it's difficult to register something for legitimate business purposes, but I'm sure it's also hard to find a good office block in a decent location. It's all in the game.
- findhostcoupons, on 03/21/2009, -0/+1The domain price depends on how people and domain owners value it!
- malliemcg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I was kinda shocked to see that vb was not a beer site. What kind of geek does that make me - thinking of (an arguably crap) beer rather than Visual Basic
Wikipedia Entry for VB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Bitter - shepherd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11. To those who compare parking pages to spam get real. Parking pages provide a great service to users - to find relevant content.
2. Domains are comparable to real estate. If you own a lot in downtown why should you not do whatever you want on it, including putting a parking lot on it? This essentialy what parking pages are.
3. I was at the auction and highly recommend it to others serious investors.
4. While it would have been better if you started earlier it isn't too late. Some great names went for bargain prices. Online without the auction the deals are much better. It takes time and dedication as with any other sort of investment.
5. Don't have the funds? You can learn this inside out and get friends or family to invest or start small, do allot of flips, and grow. - kazzyD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's an article which compares the supposed value of Hell.com with the fact that the owner of Heaven.com has only been able to make a few bucks a day on advertising:
http://www.computers.net/2006/10/domain_name_sal.html - imtigger2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wow... someone really has it out for, and is digging down, people who say they have sites for sale. As for mine, I 'aint squatting.. i just have a site I don't use, and don't feel like releasing it in case I wanna get to it again, that's all.

"What the *****? Domains are worth money, but really, their value is *****.
Seriously, why don't they just make better sites and sell those instead?
There are a ton of available domains that I see right now, that if combined with a nice site idea that gets popular, could do really well."
-diggmanchu - antonio97b, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Haha I love these comments. Everyone is just pissy they did not get in on the action. If you really wanted to earn that 1.5 million and not have just squatted a domain. Feel good. You are already there.
- imtigger2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2While you're at it, I'll take bids for www.diggdugg.com :)
(registered it as an 80's, retro arcade site... but screwed up the spelling, obviously, but still hung on to it)
I suppose it could be used as a site used to promote Digg stories that have been Dugg? (uhhhh... like Digg already does? duh?) - diggmanchu, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5What the *****? Domains are worth money, but really, their value is *****.
