Meh. This is still one of my favorite shows, but I feel that it's losing track. Was Niki reincarnated or some *****? Would Mohinder really inject himself after being full of integrity last season? And Sylar's character seems to have been dumbed down to a more one-dimensional level.
I know that they make you wait for answers deep into the season, but these all seem like cheap twists to make the plot more shocking. - redtaboo, on 09/24/2008, -4/+17Amazing ... I heard on the radio this morning it sucked in the Nielson ratings compared to Dancing with the Stars!

I can believe 92% being outside the U.S.- In Australia we get half of a season 6 months after it airs in the U.S. It's no wonder people are resorting to bittorrent. - metalgel, on 09/26/2008, -0/+8i think season 3 is off to a pretty weak start, and the series has been as a whole since season 2. they are overusing the time travel, and creating so many holes in the story its not even funny. they keep spending time on boring characters like mohinder, maya, nikki, micha, and his cousin.. that entire family. season 1 had a purpose, everyone was learning their powers and collectively trying to stop sylar. but now everyones running around doing their own thing.

It's odd being that while watching the Olympics, you couldn't go a half hour without seeing a Heroes promo.
People just don't want to watch commercials I guess. Or they just don't have the time. NBC isn't doing so hot right now.
My favorite show Friday Night Lights had a very strong, but small fan base and now it will no longer be on NBC, but a small cable network last time I checked. - abrasion, on 09/26/2008, -0/+5Television in Australia is dead, my dad is 65 and he's torrenting shows, normal 'chumps' at work are torrenting shows.
If they aren't torrenting them, they are getting them from co-workers.
The 'dopier' people are just copying them on to USB thumbstick, buying DIVX players and they are set.

- chedabob, on 09/25/2008, -1/+5It's good to see the show's producers understanding why consumers download off bittorrent. For me personally, I hate having to wait longer to see the show, and installing the extra hardware required to watch Heroes (satellite dish and receiver for Freesat) is absolutely not an option. I know for a fact that the BBC won't be putting Heroes on iPlayer in any form, so I'll be getting all of my episodes from EZTV and a.b.hdtv from now on.

When I download a tv show via torrent it usually takes about half the time to download than the running time of the episode actually is. For instance, most hour long tv shows download in a half hour or less for me. You should check your torrent client or internet connection settings.

Ali Larter and the little fidget cheerleader have fans for their looks but they absolutely drag the show to a halt. They're just not interesting and their "get a closeup of me almost crying" shots take away from the action.

- Neiby, on 09/26/2008, -0/+3I agree. There seemed to be a coherent thread to season one. Sure, there were twists and turns, but they never derailed the story. It was just enough to keep us talking and guessing. The story drove the show. Now the story has devolved into nothing more than twists and turns. They're doing twists and turns without any actual story. Bad move. And the dialogue is just atrocious.
The other problem is that they don't have consistent characters. In the second season, Claire was behaving as if season one never happened. It was annoying. And now in season three, Nathan has suddenly found religion and cites god as the cause for everything? That might be believable if he'd ever shown any religious tendencies in the past. As it is, it seems inconsistent. And then we have Mohinder acting as if he doesn't see any possible danger in giving powers to people. That's absurd! He has seen first hand how badly things can go wrong when certain people get certain powers. He wouldn't be so willy nilly about it. It's like the writers can't make up their minds. - Philbert, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2I think advertising is tougher online. They can't put as many commercials and advertisers probably don't pay as much for it. Remember NBC is a business like any other. They're there to make money, not to entertain you.

For a show that keeps saying it learned from its past mistakes then they started off the season with little regard to their own history.
- Fidget Cheerleader. If Sylar ever got her then the world would end and she would die... but she didn't die. So saving the cheerleader wasn't really that important.
- Mohinder. Brilliant scientist decides to do something stupid with no safeguards? What?
- Hiro. Father died. Saved world (x2). Runs Corporation. Lost Love. Changed history. And through all that he gained no maturity and completely ignored a simple instruction? They made him an idiot.
Overall I'm thinking their pacing is improved (except for the pouty girls trying desperately to be actors) but the stories are so forced. I'll tune in again but I don't blame people for not being interested. -
