- ClOlD, on 10/10/2007, -6/+62Fail: no Apple product-of-the-day in the list.
- veskris, on 10/10/2007, -8/+61This is what happens when you let thousands of people prove they can't think for themselves. Just look at all the sheep flocking to digg the O'Reilly threatening Clinton articles when the title misleadingly said O'Reilly himself threatened her when it was just a user comment on his website. Kind of like the comments on digg threatening to kill the president; hypocrisy much?. And no I don't like bush -- there now I won't get dug down as much (which would ironically prove my point).
- nicksauce, on 10/10/2007, -3/+54Ron Paul is gonna impeach cheney with the iPhone and Ubuntu!
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -6/+52pretty accurate.. except it's missing all the stories about Ron Paul. "Ron Paul saves kitten from burning building while fending off ninjas using only his teeth!"
Note: I'm not against RP. In fact... that kitten story is true. - TH3W1R3D, on 10/10/2007, -6/+45Not far off.
- blackbelt88, on 10/10/2007, -4/+42It's also missing "OMG Kevin Rose did something completely random!!! What a visionary!!!"
- igraham09, on 10/10/2007, -11/+49Reading this has made me realize something quite astounding...
digg sucks; I'm leaving. - pkl266, on 10/10/2007, -5/+36search reveals no ubuntu on that page, buried as inaccurate.
- the_snitch, on 10/10/2007, -4/+31keywords missing "AMAZING!!..." "Obama..." "Apple this, apple that.." "Jon Stewart says.." "Title says it all"
- akravator, on 10/10/2007, -5/+27Bush is such an idiot.
iPhone!!!1111!one! - Nodren, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22blogspam? i'm confused was that unoriginal content? seems like the guy wrote original content in his blog, he doesnt cite any sources... i was under the impression blogspam is when a blog is linked instead of the actual source article... this is the source article... just happens to be a blog.
- Araxen, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23Digg has really gone down the *****. "Same ***** different day" should be Digg's new slogan.
- wildfire, on 10/10/2007, -5/+23So many diggable keywords in there -- 10,000+ Diggs and perhaps 24 people who read it all.
- eng69, on 10/10/2007, -4/+22so true.... -- digg is sucking with all the political posts.
- B52doc, on 10/10/2007, -8/+25Dugg because its the truth. The Bush rhetoric is getting old. People just scouring the net looking for any variation of a story about Bush to submit.
- consonance, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18I believe a year or two there was a court ruling that stated that webmasters aren't responsible for the user comments posted on their websites, and everyone said, Yeah that's really obvious.
Now look who's talking.
On an unrelated note, the list is slightly inaccurate: There's no mention of stories complimenting Digg, its users, and/or Kevin Rose. - lNSTlGAT0R, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Because I have come to accept the fact that being right has nothing to do with getting dugg up.
- Narwaffle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16"The greatest X you'll see all day!"
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16So true, Sadly the Internet should of been a place where different ideas could co-mingle. Instead its just a place where people with like minds pool together into various hate filled websites. To be honest i think its been a bad thing, meeting like minded people tends to give an illusion of an opinion having stronger support then it really does, which in reality makes extreme ideas more popular and extreme people rise up.
So in Conclusion, ***** the Internet. Its only use is for porn. Everything else is somebody trying to tell you what to do. - chuuchdizzle, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Buried for not being about open source, linux, ubuntu, impeachment, ecofriendly, a top 10 list, alberto gonzalez, iraq war, wind farms, microsoft being an evil company, apple for being god's company, steve jobs being god, jesusphone, some other article that pertains to gizmodo, consumerist, engadget, treehugger, the raw story.........
- woodcoxcb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10next front page article:
Have Digg comments become completely predicatble? - SonOfDad, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15I didn't see that coming
- Mearn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9In Soviet Russia comments predict you
They may be predictable but will they blend
*simpsons reference*
*obscure Office reference*
Yeah, pretty much. - lNSTlGAT0R, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15I guess you missed the one that said "Hi, I'm an elitist pig! Let me explain to you why Microsoft sucks."
/braces for bury - loki440, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Yeah I guess it's fairly accurate, but I think this list is more representative of what you'll find on Digg nowadays:
Atheist uses Umbuntu to prove that God doesn't exist (AMAZING video!!)
Why Wii is clearly the best, most innovative console in the history of the world
Hack the iPhone to help reduce global warming AND cure cancer!!!!
Stephen Colbert PWNS (fill in the blank)!!!
48% increase in rectal ulcers since 2003---is Bush to blame?
Betty Crocker, the unexplained hole on Mars and 9/11 (What Bush and Cheney aren't telling you)
VIDEO--Ron Paul interviews on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BET and the Animal Channel to discuss his lack of media coverage
Steve Jobs leaks plan to make an iPhone Transformer!! - sgtbutterscotch, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11braces for bury? why? you were right. it was there.
- synaesthesia, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13You forgot this one:
VAGUE INCOMPREHENSIBLE HEADLINE
'title says all' - smurf22, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11You forgot RIAA, and the word "*****"
- robbh66, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7No, Ubuntu is a form of Linux. Man you're stupider.
- resplence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Everyone! Do not digg this man up nor down! Let him stay in the +1 limbo of indifference! It's the only way to be sure!
- JimmyTheClam, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8What I find the most funny is that your average Digg user is the most narrow-minded, pop-educated, follow-the-flock bunch of drones I have seen on the net outside of the DailyKos or the Rush Limbaugh site, yet they all love to pat themselves on the back telling each other how "independent" they are.
ATTENTION DIGG USERS: You have less intelligence and education than most of the people you criticize. - concretemech, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11I like that digg has allot of Linux stories, they interest me. In my humble opinion digg is a source of news in the areas that tend to interest me. If you blame it for being "predictable" then you are blaming a community for finding the same topics to be consistently interesting, and I don't see a problem with that.
- AJRiddle, on 10/10/2007, -8/+13I can't believe there weren't more Ron Paul things, or ANY APPLE.
Seriously, Ron Paul and Apple make up of about a quarter of all diggs. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10bush fanboys.. do they still exist?
- assholepundit, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9You also have to add "(name) in the (place) with the (type of explosive) proves it was an inside job. OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!"
- AWBoy666, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7You forgot that Bush caused 9/11.
- ReBeLaCe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6As a decently long time Digg user (2005) I have seen this site grow huge and in that I have seen the same stories come up over and over and over and over I used to fight this by hitting dupe then realized my efforts were fruitless. I used to see so much new content and cool stuff and digg dozens of stories per day. Now one or two maybe four on a good day. I talked to one of my friends about this problem and she said she hadn't noticed and I asked her when she joined and she said late 2006 and I instantly knew that it was because I have been on digg to long. ::sigh::
- thesparrowband, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5he missed the occasional article explaining why digg sucks
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What about the:
Blah blah blah
Title says it all - fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9It's eerily accurate, and the worst part is not only is it predicatable but most of the time we're looking at reddit's sloppy seconds.
- jake8689, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5that's just because everything else is worse
- GinaJuice, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8What?!
No Apple/Steve Jobs Brown nosing?
Apple and the word BREAKING make up 80% of digg. - AJRiddle, on 10/10/2007, -10/+14Yeah, because blogs are never on digg.
- idathunkit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I think the solution is to limit the number of diggs per user to a max of 1 per 10 second period. That should clean up a lot of the garbage caused by certain users simply going through all the headlines and digging any article that has one of their favorite words in it... such as: linux, ubuntu, iphone, etc...
- fatesdefiance, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Thank you for the astute observation. Sure, it's pretty obvious...but it's nice to see someone come right out and say it...and not (yet) get insta-buried.
- EvilCan, on 02/26/2008, -2/+5I think he's just upset that there is about 12 impeachment stories that reach the front page every day. He even states that he's not a fan of Bush at the bottom of the page.
- Babazoz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Don't forget "WAKE UP AMERICA!!"
- CesarSolomon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4You don't know how much I agree with this, I'm almost leaving Digg.
