- stoops, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wow! There is some GREAT content in there, not just the theory of the attacks/defenses but the application as well and I actually learned something I never knew before:
"The AP inserts the data supplied by the station in the Association Request into a table called the association table that the AP maintains in its memory. The IEEE 802.11 specifies a maximum value of 2007 concurrent associations to an AP. The actual size of this table varies among different models of APs. When this table overflows, the AP would refuse further clients.
Having cracked WEP, an attacker authenticates several non-existing stations using legitimate-looking but randomly generated MAC addresses. The attacker then sends a flood of spoofed associate requests so that the association table overflows.
Enabling MAC filtering in the AP will prevent this attack." - Kahr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well written and explained. Hell, the labels of hacker and cracker, as well as the derivative verbs, etc. are even applied in proper context (definition of hacker's in the intro). Also, a nice list of suggestions at the end on how to secure access points on a network. Dugg.

WPA2 you mean, which is better than standard WPA. - djnick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2grab the backtrack distro, read the tutorials and crack AP's in minutes. I cracked all the 2 wire routers in my area in less than 30 mins
- madformadness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just do not use the password:"ADMIN" and you will alot safer.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Glad to see someone got the joke...
- muffinmanpoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@NikoKun, I think maybe he was joking?

Interesting article on the same subject - bababa185, on 07/31/2008, -1/+0Good stuff, i bet there are some great articles about this. I ususally go to
http://www.dr-directory.info
check it out - sonicvanajr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0There's a lot of useful information here, but seriously does anyone use Air Snort. A lot of the tools referenced are out of date. Check out tools like Karma, Aircrack-ng, and mdk2
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1O_o... Considering this has got a lot of useful information on how to prevent attacks... your theory doesn't hold up.
If it was a 'dark hacker howto destroy people's wifi networks' with no info on preventing, just attacking then maybe it could stand up as a ploy to get IPs of those interested... but this is an Honest article to help PREVENT attacks and contains information useful to any Computer tech looking for security tips. - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Hehe, and now the Department of Homeland Scrutiny has all the IP addresses of everyone who just looked. Expect men in suits and black vans to be at your doors shortly.
- m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0LOL, frankly who wouldent? NikoKun, your too naive
