- clouseau, on 10/12/2007, -7/+61Joint Google? Isn't that illegal?
- RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -6/+45Maybe by having joint Google this will have opent new doors for the programmers. Google hasn't acquirt them for nothing. They must have something interesting plant. I guess we'll have to wait until it's revealt.
- mjaleo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37Digg headlines and article descriptions always contain some of the funniest misuses of words and mistakes ever. Some days I get more enjoyment from that than the actual articles.
/Grammar Nazi - JoshuaWood, on 10/12/2007, -6/+35I lol't
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -10/+25joint google or "joined" google. get it right.
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15No, that would be possession.
- Isgirl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I loved that application, one of my favorite too.
But i think that since Google added the chat option to Gmail, Gtalkr lose lots of users.
It's good to hear that Google will keep that two talented brothers, busy.
maybe will going to enjoy new application soon.. - hotpepper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Is that related to "congratulations", but just for graduates?
- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Does this mean they'll be working under Tom Vendetta?
- gmax, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Congradulations... joint Google! :D
Who cares? Somebody should make a Web 2.0-ish app that checks grammar and spelling within digg... - Unimaxium, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Unfortunately spell check won't catch 'joint' because it's a correctly-spelled word. What would help is if people could actually take some time to read over their posts before clicking the submit button. Then we might not have so many dumb mistakes in stories on the front page. Seriously, how hard can it be to spell correctly?
- aristan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Joint Google hurts... but I hear Gold Bond Medicated ointment is a big help.
- ub3rgeek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10There is it's called Spell Check.
- Lemon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9*pait*
- greatred, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Maybe the post author is dyslexic or their first language isn't English. Admittedly it did take me a couple of readings before I understood it.
- RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Or into our education system.

But I think people post misspelled stories on digg far too often for all of them to be from non-English-speakers or dyslexia sufferers. What I said above was pretty much my rant about digg users in general.
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm starting not to like Google.... They're doing a lot of good things, but them aquiring just about EVERYTHING makes me not like them for some reason....
- anonymonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@gmax... sorry dude, my bad. I keep seeing things like "congradulations" and "your/you're" and " would of" and well, sometimes the grammar nazi in me gets carried away.
Let's call it "collaDeral damage" - ;-) - gmax, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wow. The last time i read this crap was in 1998!
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2there should be a filter that bans stories with OMG, PWN, H4XXOR or any 1337 talk in Title or Description.
- fislen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what we call pattern recognition..
however this guy didn't even put the first and last letters into the right place.. - gmax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Dude... I'm not stupid. Check jmholloway's post above... ;)
- anonymonk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hey gmax... it's congraTulations, with a T.
Who needs a spell checker when we have the spell nazis on call? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1never heard of it, so I guess I'm not concerned
- OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks Mjaleo, but using a proxy would finally be detected by the IT guy, and this is a volontary act. My company sucks a lot, but I dont want to make trouble.
Gtalkr was the best way, kind of discreet and "innocent way". No app running in system tray, no install. - Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used gtalkr for awhile. Nice web 2.0 design, but since it was flash it crashed a lot..plus I couldn't get my local movie listing on there, like I could on google's personal homepage. So I am back w/ google ;)
- geekoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It seems Gush has also gone the way of the dodo. I didn't know these guys were also 2entwine.com.
http://www.2entwine.com/ - LegendarySock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hey lucky for people like koregoanpark, firefox 2.0 will have in-line spell check.
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wtf is joint google?
- TrueVox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does www.meebo.com work?
- mjaleo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well if you use a proxy to get to your gmail account, or a dummy gmail account as to not expose your password-- then you can use the GTalk that is embeded into Gmail.
- bluemech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lern2spell
- OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am not happy about this news. I was using gtalkr to chat with my gf while on my break at work.I am not supposed to install any software (so cannot install googletalk app) on this company computer and gtalkr was a nice workaround. The IT guy there did not know about gtalkr so he did not block the access while many other domain names are not reachable.I cant access my gmail account for instance.
Anybody got an alternative way in mind? - neave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wait a minute...
"Gtalkr was a really cool Flash desktop/homepage tool that integrated gmail, gtalk and Yahoo maps (Yahoo has a Flash API, Google doesn’t)."
So Google have bought a Flash-based mapping application and yet they don't have a Flash mapping API, only an AJAX one. So how do they expect to get Google Maps to work in this desktop app without Flash? - kevin.gc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2That's awesome. Combine that with some easy encryption and you've basically got uncrackable crud.
- AbsoluteMSTR, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4wouldn't that be monopoly?
- MedHead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1gmax: http://www.snopes.com/language/apocryph/cambridge.asp
1998? Really? - atebark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone know of a GtalkR Mirror site?
- accidental, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This app was terrible, i am sorry. Google shouldn't have wasted their time with this.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Blog spam. Just go straight to http://www.gtalkr.com/
- benofsky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Duplicate!! I posted a day before http://digg.com/software/OMG,_,_GTalkr_is_gone_
- jakeg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1just because snopes references research in 2003 related to this phenomenon doesn't mean that it hadn't been noticed/studied before, dumbass.
- disrupter, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Wonder how much they'll get paid
- AeonTorpor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1... yes?
- jmholloway, on 10/12/2007, -13/+12Congradulations for them.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1What surprises the hell out of me is why do we not yet have a Google messenger?
...NM, spoke to soon. - BeerTooth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wee kneed spell chek bilt in two thee OS.
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -15/+13Relax. They're going to toke it up.
