- astorygirl, on 06/18/2009, -4/+61"Decision Engine" is just marketing spin, as Google and Microsoft both know.
- thisismydigg, on 06/18/2009, -11/+62google, keep it simple and i'll never leave
- Czechxican, on 06/18/2009, -6/+47I actually like Bing quite a bit. Sure its a bit more busy than google, but I really enjoy the background themes for each day, I think it's fairly unique. I also love the bird's eye view for it's maps. Sure it's not google, not by a long shot, but a little competition never hurt anyone (well consumers anyways). Google is still my default homepage, but I use Bing from time to time and find the experience enjoyable.
- Subduction, on 06/18/2009, -8/+44Having run Bing through its paces I've come to the conclusion that it is a very effective decision engine.
It has, for example, helped me decide to stick with Google. - MindTrigger, on 06/18/2009, -3/+35I will. I'll leave for the best search engine. I have no loyalty to any of these sites, and they better continue to improve and innovate their search capabilities.
Bing has been pretty decent so far. It's nice to have TWO good search engines to use instead of just Google. - inactive, on 06/18/2009, -0/+27I buried you for that annoying ***** "M$" *****.
- Farwando, on 06/18/2009, -2/+24Bing is better for porn as ive found out
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -2/+24Carmella Bing
- stanggt3, on 06/18/2009, -0/+19Whatever Microsoft did, they got google back on their toes after a long time of just laying low
- cotorogasa, on 06/18/2009, -3/+17did you see the video search , the thumbnails have preview this is hard work from microsoft!
- Bermygoon, on 06/18/2009, -1/+15
Funny thing is, all this stuff google is doing to make bing look bad is just making bing a household name. For example I have seen at least 5 front page articles (also I have seen a couple of articles on cnn.com) on what google is doing different because of bing. MS must be loving the free press.
Google's dominance is over and anyone that is not a stupid fanboy and understands that consumers will benefit from competition is happy. Fanboys on the other hand will write stupid comments with M$ symbols in them thinking they are brilliant. - anexanhume, on 06/18/2009, -1/+15Ned Ryerson?!
Bing! - MeltingIce, on 06/18/2009, -11/+24I think the visual design of bing is awful... Google got it right many years ago and they've stuck to what works: simplicity.
- mattingly, on 06/18/2009, -1/+11Even though the market share grab by Bing was so small, Google still sees them as somewhat of a threat. Google released a lot of big news during Bing's first week live, ie: PageRank sculpting, no-follow link changes, etc.
- Remmiz, on 06/18/2009, -1/+11"Fight the monopoly" "Use Microsoft"
Never thought I'd hear that. - MrJagil, on 06/18/2009, -0/+10Bing = Porn
Google = Anything else - BxBoy, on 06/18/2009, -0/+8just found out? I've been Binging porn since it launched.
- leif777, on 06/18/2009, -2/+9Whenever I read an article about Bing I want to read it with the Chandler Bing cadence.
- Remmiz, on 06/18/2009, -1/+8Needs more "..." and "-"
- khaosx2030, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6Whoops forgot my "/ALERT THIS IS SARCASM"
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -0/+6good point, tarzan
- khaosx2030, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6I'm glad somebody got the joke.
- jbird32275, on 06/18/2009, -0/+5I can't stand Google for just that reason. When I search my name I get back all kinds of nonsense.
Signed,
John Smith - geoffg, on 06/18/2009, -2/+7Bing is off to a great start, first MS product since the 360 that's been impressive.
- VyRuZ, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Frankly, I find Bing beautiful. Both the pics on the front page, as well as the overall layout once you search for something.
- djpstyle, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4It's called the I'm Feeling Lucky button...perfect for the technically illiterate :)
- gordigor, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4I totally know what you mean. When I load up my homepage on firefox, it loads up Google.
- EddieSpeaks, on 06/18/2009, -4/+7BUT IT'S NOT GOOGLE or BING IS NOT GOOGLE!
- MasterEvilAce, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Yeah. I hope this sparks some competition into Google. I'd like to see the scrolling image search, video previews and bird's eye view implemented into Google
- krisrm, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Have you seen the size of that power adapter? I thought it was impressive.
(I revoke your rights to "that's what she said") - jayuu22, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I agree. Bird's eye was there with map.live.com before Google street view . Why i like Bing's homepage is because i find some new things everyday...just drag mouse over the image and you will find more details about that image/location.
- richirwin, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I'm giving the edge to Bing.
Google AdSense is the devil. - jbird32275, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I am also interested in science and programming...interesting story though.
- Vodd9, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I'll give a fair try to Bing and try it and compare with google for a few weeks.
- CoreyTamas, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Well. That's $80m well-spent.
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -0/+3for you people who don't get it:

(yes I'm talking to you, topgigmedia) - Vodd9, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I dugg you up after reading the first part then dugg you down after reading the second.
- serif69, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Bing's image search interface is far better than Google's IMO. All on one page!
- tommyny04, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2there's an option to turn off the pictures in bing
i, for one like the background pic in bing... bring a little color and personality to the site plus the little facts you see when you hover over the screen is nice!!! - ThaATrain, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2wonder if that was intentional?
- cclyde, on 06/18/2009, -2/+4Now you can add themes to Google.com (look just below the search box), so it looks more like Bing!
- SpeedStix, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2The live maps have real time traffic updates. That is an awesome feature.
- smergs, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I've actually switched my browser search bar to bing in Friefox. I really like it. I've been able to get just as good results on searches for the few things that I have searched for. I'm going to try and use it for everything and only go back to google if I can't find what I'm looking for. Just trying to give them a boost.
- toekneebullard, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I like Google, cause when I search my name, most of the results are about me. Not so much with bing.
I'll always use the search engine that continues to support my falsely inflated sense of self-wroth. - chameleon789, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2hmm... I was sure I left a race of super-beings in here somewhere.
- Vodd9, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2I've tried it a bit, but so far, at least for me,
Google >>> Bing - peter3118, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2Hey MindTriggerMindTrigger, in response to your comment "It's nice to have two good search engines to use instead of just Google." Hey....have you heard of the number 2 search engine called YAHOO??!! That's right, Yahoo is still number 2 and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future, with Bing in third place most of the time.
So perhaps your comment should have been: "It's nice to have THREE good search engines instead of just Google." I agree, competition is always good and it will put more pressure/incentive on Google to keep on top of their game and improve their already great service and their growing list of services (Google Docs, Pacasa, Gmail, etc.) - Lloydinator, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2By the way, I wonder what happened to Cuil?
- Morwynd, on 06/18/2009, -2/+4Again, Google got it right. If users want eye candy, give them the OPTION of adding it, don't force it down everyone's throats (which is the MS approach).
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -1/+2I'm impressed about the ability to flash the DVD firmware and play burned games!
