- junkstore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Ahhh...so the long term goal is to make more money from it...Now that's what I call a smart business.
- capebretoner, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I am not sure that they are closer, it is just that MS is stumbling along where they used to be all that there was.
Don't think that businesses are going to move to Google for their documents etc. There is NO way that the Exxons, PG, BP, AMEC, etc of the world are going to be using online document making software instead of standalone. The security risk is WAY too high. MS makes a lot of money off businesses and not the consumer. Google is geared more to the consumers of the world and maybe small businesses.
MS in the Brick-mortar world will still be in control, Google will control the online world. Maybe someday soon they will collide and it will be VERY interesting. - Autrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Holy wrong thread post, Batman.

There are loads of rumours that they might release an OS eventually, but Goobuntu is what they call their internal version of Ubuntu so I doubt they'd release that :-) - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3'He who commands the past controls the future, He who controls the future conquers the past'
One of my favorite quotes. - SilverGinger5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What was the most ever paid out for 1 click on adsense - OMG WAIT TILL YOU HEAR THE ANSWER
I'm at work so can't listen to an mp3 at the moment - what was the answer? - AaronCompNetSys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Most ever paid out for one click - answer: "One million dollars. Just kidding" [next question]
Lame. - colincsl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Probably, but it's a great system. I wish it was used in more places.

- ThirdPrize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where is the money in that? Unless they hook AdSence into every window and command line.
- swingman6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well duh, we know this was going to happen a year ago, now it's time to start working on internet TV, and easy to use.

- wileycount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Couldn't listen to the podcast at work, but the summary doesn't seem to indicate much about YouTube except that they're going to generate revenue from it...not sure what this means for the long term integration of Google and YouTube.
"how YouTube and monetizing it with AdSense was the missing piece to adding Google Video Blogging."
Does this mean that Google will be integrating YouTube into blogging, and the point is that they just figured out how to monetize such integration? - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.google.com/enterprise/
Google apps don't necessarily have to be Google hosted. - markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1World domination?
- markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep, they are.
- akarpo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2More like, Gangs of New Digg. Starring so called ballers, shot-callers, and those who love to hate.

"Who controls the past controls the future Who controls the present controls the past" - Autrix, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Why on Earth would Pirates of Silicon Valley 2 be about Digg/Diggnation?
That makes no sense to me at all. - philo23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2is it just me or is the comments thumbs up / down image ripped from digg.com?
- Skeithy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How strange, I always assumed youtube's purchase was the result of a night of drunken shenanigans
- chucksmooth, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2whoever controls information controls the world, advantage = google
- Jormungandr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0This might be interesting, except for the blogger's painfully inept command of English. Buried until he/she learns how to spell.
- BlazeQ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1With a fill answer like "OMG WAIT TILL YOU HEAR THE ANSWER", I expect it to be somewhere in the ballpark of eleventy billion...
- keeblah, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1of course google is working toward their goal to beat microsoft to world domination. google is actually closer..
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2My prediction: Google will team up with a linux group and release a Google-distro.
Goobuntu? Discuss.
