- MrBabyMan, on 03/07/2008, -97/+1494DO NOT WANT!!!!!
- Hobbes24, on 03/07/2008, -43/+794...i've got a bad feeling about this...
- tnatharik, on 03/07/2008, -33/+569As a user i don't mind Google, Microsoft nah.
- ani625, on 03/07/2008, -42/+487NNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 03/07/2008, -23/+457Sell it, take the money -- who wouldn't? But FFS don't sell it to Balmer! Please, please go with Google.
- daFilms, on 03/07/2008, -11/+393...Digg is prepared to take less than the $300 million Allen & Co. were floating late last year. Google, our source says, will likely bid $200-$225 million, which Digg would likely accept..
--Do you blame them? - inactive, on 03/07/2008, -14/+317Don't let them drink your milkshake
- macwisdom, on 03/07/2008, -11/+293Stay above corporate influence ...Well as much as you can.... If you got to sell go with google
- darkchild82, on 03/07/2008, -5/+278This is somewhat better than when there were talks of News Corp trying to acquire Digg. Man, if THAT had gone through....
- truspect0r, on 03/07/2008, -12/+282If you guys really have to sell it.
Google. - Four20, on 03/07/2008, -98/+311meh, as long as they continue to work there, it's all the same
- Arbinshire, on 03/07/2008, -30/+238If google gets digg. I'm ok with that.
If Microsoft gets digg, I'm not and won't be coming back to digg. - typicalusername, on 03/07/2008, -18/+204If Digg gets bought by the man, I know I'm out! They'd probably try and make it more family oriented so you couldn't say *****, *****, assX (which includes assclown, asscracker, asshat, assmonkey, *****, etc), son of a bitch, bitch, bastard, damn, hell, God, or any other non-PC word.
- bxblox, on 03/07/2008, -37/+190Sell it.
- k00k, on 03/07/2008, -4/+148They'd be stupid not to sell. Kevin has proven that he wants to try other things (pownce). Can't blame the guy, half the fun is getting it up and running and moving on to the next one.
- iucraigmc, on 03/07/2008, -7/+149*pulls out his checkbook* I'm ready for a counter-offer... how much you say?... *sniffs*... *slowly puts his checkbook away*
- DivisibleByZero, on 03/07/2008, -2/+127It's like the old saying goes. "Money can't buy happiness, but happiness can't buy *****."
- t2t2, on 03/07/2008, -10/+130Somehow i think if Microsoft manages to buy digg a larger revolt than 09 F9 11... will happen, at least i know what i will do
- 0crabby0, on 03/07/2008, -5/+116Mr Babyman - Powered by Microsoft...lol
- Remmy, on 03/07/2008, -6/+114After the town meeting, how does this surprise anyone? They refused to talk about it but you could tell from their reactions that they were most likely trying to sell it. It's a smart move on their part. With the declining economy and and lack of good content as of late, the wise thing is to get out now before it declines in value even more.
- neoknight, on 03/07/2008, -12/+120Can't you sell shares of the site to the users? We'll take care of it while you, Alex and Jay are on the beach in the Bahamas. Srsly!
- zengonzo, on 03/07/2008, -2/+106I've been rich and unhappy, and I've been poor and unhappy.
Rich is better. - tcpip4lyfe, on 03/07/2008, -7/+111google please
- ArchangelZLT, on 03/07/2008, -12/+115Yeah... If Digg was sold to Google perhaps I'll still visit it for a couple of times per day. But to Microsoft... THAT'S A NIGHTMARE!
- kalel90, on 03/07/2008, -5/+104He could sell to google and maintain control of digg there pretty good about that where as microsoft is not so good at that.
- kent1146, on 03/07/2008, -6/+101"Don't sell Digg Kevin! Digg this story he needs to know how we feel!"
I don't know about Kevin, but personally I believe that:
The feeling of multi-millions $$$ >> The feeling that you didn't sell out.
i.e. Screw you guys, I'm going home (where I can swim in a giant vault of money Scrooge McDuck style) - derjames, on 03/07/2008, -13/+102but not to Microsoft...
- davewashere, on 03/07/2008, -2/+81Yeah, I would like to invest my accumulated lifetime earnings to buy a .1% share of Digg. Seriously Kevin, just cash out. Mansions, cars, and a stable of bitches can't buy you happiness, but then again neither can I.
- est1984, on 03/07/2008, -2/+78wasn't the new IE browser going to natively support Digging? i smells me some micro-bucks.
- inactive, on 03/07/2008, -4/+79I don't know if this will really happen or not, but begging Kevin not to sell isn't likely to stop him. If you were offered millions for a webpage you would take it.
- spudnic, on 03/07/2008, -6/+75Why the hell wouldn't he?
Put up with the bitching of thousands of geeks, or move to an island and live the life of a king for the rest of your life... he'd be stupid not to accept. - abstractwater, on 03/07/2008, -4/+71This is a big cash-in for the digg founders, who only received $11.3M from investors...
- strictnein, on 03/07/2008, -1/+65No kidding. Let's see... I can continue to worry about funding for my web site whose visitors primarily consist of people who use adblock, or I can take big fat sacks of cash.
- Myztry, on 03/07/2008, -7/+71Therein lies the problem. It would become yet another leverage tool to enforce silverlight, Internet Explorer, ActiveX, Live ID, Live pseudo search, and the devil knows what else.
- tRANIS, on 03/07/2008, -17/+80google is fine but block MS
- inactive, on 03/07/2008, -9/+72Dear god, PLEASE not to Microsoft.
- inactive, on 03/07/2008, -11/+73If Digg goes to Microsoft, I'm leaving.
- laaabaseball, on 03/07/2008, -8/+69You're a trap
- canewediggit, on 03/07/2008, -5/+64not sure if i'm buying this story;
1. msft has spent enough time on this site to realize they are hated, why would they buy a community that hates them?
2. google has lost a few billion the last few months. while a digg purchase is still a drop in the bucket for them, i assume social website acquisitions can't be a high priority for them and will be frowned upon by the market
3. after hd-dvd, i wouldn't want digg if i had to buy it. why drop a couple hundred mil for a group that will turn on and shut the site down you in a second?
i'm probably wrong on all counts and would certainly be happy for the digg team if they got their payday, but that's my $.02. - vandy, on 03/07/2008, -5/+61maybe if google takes over, the search function will finally work decently
- endlessoul, on 03/07/2008, -5/+60Too bad, MrBabyMan. Maybe now you'll have to get a real job.
- WayOfTheIronPaw, on 03/07/2008, -4/+59You forgot *****. And *****, although perhaps that is covered by *****. But ***** is important. I say ***** all the time. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever written a comment on Digg which didn't include the word *****. It's just that useful.
- edborden, on 03/07/2008, -11/+64Google is an awesome company, why would anyone not want them to get involved. I'm sure Kevin Rose isn't going to scoff at being rich as dirt either.
- nbcaffeine, on 03/07/2008, -9/+61take the money and run
- clesch, on 03/07/2008, -5/+57Congratulations to Kevin and the crew.
- Wildog27, on 03/07/2008, -1/+49And that's different from how it is now in what way?
- Niels, on 03/07/2008, -3/+491.- sell to M$
2.- profit!
3.- create digg2.com
4.- we all move to digg2.com
5.- ???
6.- MORE PROFIT !!! - RealmDown, on 03/07/2008, -2/+47I think "diggle" captures it better.
- millerftw, on 03/07/2008, -2/+40No one cares and signing your posts makes you look like a douche.

What is Digg?
