- urbano35, on 07/08/2008, -5/+285You know a girl made a game when the eyes are bigger than the breasts...
- keviniskool, on 07/09/2008, -6/+194Am I the only one who thinks all of these 3D chat room-esque programs are retarded?
- rocketship47, on 07/08/2008, -16/+127boo, only windows.
- jbu311, on 07/09/2008, -1/+80So Google is making its own version of habbo hotel? Great... another place where I can talk to guys who I think are girls.
- grimfandango, on 07/09/2008, -2/+66yeah, because we need ANOTHER social network.
- victor_smithe, on 07/09/2008, -13/+65only windows? lame
- Murrabbit, on 07/09/2008, -3/+42Please everyone bury this and then let's never ever mention or think of it again.

- Thrilltone, on 07/09/2008, -11/+42Some guys do prefer girls with small breasts.
To some, feminity = delicate graceful faerielike - notoneofus, on 07/09/2008, -0/+29I'm feeling mixed about this. There was a general feeling in the virtual worlds industry that when Google got into it, they would raise the bar. However, this just feels like another IMVU-style space.
- polychrome, on 07/09/2008, -5/+33Has anyone read Snow Crash? (written in 1990)
- Thrilltone, on 07/09/2008, -1/+27Yes Real. As in real breasts
- Kral, on 07/09/2008, -2/+27Pedobear doesn't count.
- GTanaka, on 07/09/2008, -6/+26It's called Second Life?
- jinkop38, on 07/09/2008, -1/+19S0 90s.
- mark076h, on 07/09/2008, -1/+18Mac and Linux clients are on the way
- adolfojp, on 07/09/2008, -2/+18Cross platform development is not easy, mkay?
- natmaster, on 07/09/2008, -0/+16Ug, so buggy. I don't even know what I'm supposed to be able to do, since nothing works.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -4/+17"A Mac OS X client also is a high priority"
Source: http://www.webware.com/8301-1_109-9984909-2.html - m3mn0n, on 07/09/2008, -7/+20c'mon google... you should know better. :-(
I don't like using my Windows PC damn it! - dxgg, on 07/09/2008, -0/+12You know the saying: "On the Internet, men are men, women are men, and children are cops".
- kublerross, on 07/09/2008, -2/+14I seriously hope no one on Digg has not read Snow Crash
- waydee, on 07/09/2008, -0/+11You finally realised! excellent
- filmbandit, on 07/09/2008, -1/+11avatars = blechh!!!
just like yahoo avs. everyone's a bobblehead. - Kral, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10Maybe they hate Windows users.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12I wonder if there will be any pools in Lively...
- davidwasman, on 07/09/2008, -3/+12Why the hell did Google release something that doesn't have Mac or Linux support?
- whyufail, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11Many people have, and tried. It's never taken off.
- fuxxx, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11I see what you did there
- thailand1972, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8So....you chat to other avatars? Can someone honestly explain the point of this.....I read the article and it appears to be nothing more than a chat facility. Isn't this a bit 1998? Looks like we are running out of ideas.
- Vinvin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8Google Earth was native I believe...
Anyway, if it's a Firefox extension I'd expect it to support all platforms Firefox does. - megaton, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8I don't know why people are digging you down. Cross-platform development is by NO means trivial when it comes to real-time, interactive multimedia applications...
- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+8Normally, I would agree. But Google has lost all rights to that excuse since they don't use the term "beta" properly. Gmail is still "beta", as it has been since its launch in 2004. So is Google Video, launched in 2005. Ditto Google Talk (2005). They have a long track history of this. Google News stayed in beta from 2002-2006.
So please, lay off the name-calling. - LeviTheSmith, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7It actually is pretty easy. I'm a developer myself.
All you do is run ConvertMyAppToLinux.exe and it works like that. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -8/+15Holy ***** idea Batman!
- aliguana, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7Methinks that if Google wanted to get into this game, they would be better throwing their weight in behind OpenSim or something. Maybe this is in response to the Yahoo avatar "spaces" that they are/were planning, although with the current state of Yahoo then it's probably been sidelined.
- jsaya, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7Just tried it out - there is not a lot of customization to choose from whether it be designing your avatar, to personalizing a room. If this had the customization of say a Mii - that alone would make it a lot better. I am disappointed Google. Was not even worth my 5 minutes.
- etx313, on 07/09/2008, -3/+10EVERYONE JOIN THE SEX ROOM FOR VIRTUAL SEX LOL WUT!!!
- maleki, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7Breasts are fine and dandy...but id rather have a woman who tastes like candy.
- howzitgoin88, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Anymore than a handful is a waste, in my opinion...
- Malnilion, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7I can't help feeling like my computing life resembles What About Bob? except in my case Bob == Linux.
- ronaldmonster, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7So it's basically Second Life with Google's name attached?
- HorseloverFat8, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6No Linux or Mac support, and no Safari or Opera. Not that I care, I'm currently using Windows with FF3, but I'm sure that'll annoy some people.
- Stwo, on 07/09/2008, -1/+7The most ridiculous google app EVER
- MCCULLAH, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6or japanese....
- Thrilltone, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Thanks for the tip, Brokeback
- Greedfeed, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5No this is much different, the eyes on the faces are far larger.
- kublerross, on 07/09/2008, -5/+10but myspace and facebook on the other hand arent ?
I find the whole social networking thing retarded, - orthodoxDrew, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5I think I'm old or something, cuz I just don't get the appeal. Do I have to go to slashdot now?
