- ForbesBingley, on 04/08/2008, -4/+37This is one of those things that is so amorphous, almost anything could come of it. It's not something I'm likely to use, but it's certainly a pretty interesting development, none the less...
- footfwd, on 04/08/2008, -2/+26Who's flying that little logo anyways?
- Dylson, on 04/08/2008, -0/+24Naw she might leave you for that big Microsoft dude. You know...the guy nobody but her likes?

- ihazstatus, on 04/08/2008, -5/+27i don't even write code or have any interest in starting a web 2.34 company, but every time google releases something like this i get all giddy and want to high five everyone
- Mrdudeperson, on 04/08/2008, -1/+21Don't tell Yahoo. If she finds out that me and Google...you know were going out, then she will make me sleep on the couch.
- sinatosk, on 04/08/2008, -6/+23considering what Microsoft, EA, Comcast and some others have done in the past with their monopoly ( in their field )... no because Google has done alot of positive things in the past.
but that's my opinion - inactive, on 04/08/2008, -4/+20"I didn't get in, so everybody who did is stupid."

- SirWho, on 04/08/2008, -0/+15nope, its not from the Phantom Menace.
- TnTBass, on 04/08/2008, -2/+15Yes. Too much power in one centralized place is never a good thing, even if their company motto is "Don't be evil"

- ligyron, on 04/08/2008, -0/+9I'm pretty sure it's "virginity"
- Belin, on 04/08/2008, -3/+12Oh great, Python. Color me unexcited. Maybe it will be worth signing up for when they roll out support for PHP. This is like building their system to work exclusively with J2EE, FAIL.
- cadmiumpaint, on 04/08/2008, -5/+13I find it fascinating how many people are soooo pro google, when they are positioning themselves to become the biggest information based monopoly and evil corporate empire that we've ever seen.
- brkhobowriter, on 04/09/2008, -1/+9Nah, I doubt it. Microsoft doesn't want her. She charges $50, but Microsoft offered only $43...
- TheFounder, on 04/08/2008, -13/+21Google is a monster....

- tketch, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7Not personal websites, personal web apps. If you want personal websites it's called google pages beotch.

- ieatsmurfs, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7I believe it's "So this is how liberty dies?"
- michaelarana, on 04/08/2008, -2/+9Google Love... ahh how sweet...
- TheUngod, on 04/08/2008, -5/+11I love you more than anything in this whole world. I love you more than my own filthiness, more than my own hair color. Oh God, I love you more than the sound of bones breaking, the sound of death rattle - even more than the sound of my own ***** do I love you.
- stev31h, on 04/08/2008, -1/+7@swellin
holy run-on - Xivx, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6Any other developers out there cringe at the apparent miss-use of the phrase "web services"?
i.e. web services meaning machine to machine interaction : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_services - migitalwarfare, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6they're not theoretically "in" anything. GOD!!!
- j3one, on 04/08/2008, -0/+5in light of the whole 37 signals ripoff, a clones reference would have been quite the freudian slip...
- centran, on 04/08/2008, -0/+5I so knew it would double post :(
stupid broken comments. I hate you. My comment existed. Don't tell it doesn't. - fkr3, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5Bill Gates and his wife have done more positive things then anyone else on this planet.....
- TomTruelle, on 04/08/2008, -1/+6Google somehow reminds me of GlaDOS. All nice and helpful at first then BAM! ***** fire pit...
the cake/privacy is a lie. - drmangrum, on 04/08/2008, -0/+5Those usually aren't the issues when designing a large scale game.
It's far harder to find capable artist, musicians, etc to flesh out the content. - Xyleene, on 04/08/2008, -4/+9Comparing this with Amazon services is apples and oranges... this is a cut down shared hosting server... Amazon is an end to end hardware stack for anything from single server web services/sites to enterprise wide server clusters. Why are they being brought up together in the same article?
- foofoobee, on 04/08/2008, -1/+6Because you personally know everyone that signed up, right?
- solidus636, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4You took it too far.
- lucutus, on 04/08/2008, -1/+5Nope not at all. I want google on a chip implanted in my head! Before Google I was reading encyclopedias for fun and knowledge. Now I just google whatever I need to know and the answer is there.
- jordan314, on 04/08/2008, -0/+4Damn, I just tried to sign up and the 10,000 slots are already filled. That was fast!
- orangefly, on 04/08/2008, -0/+4You're not a programmer. I know every programmer in the world.
