- JeremyL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Digg needs to partner with Dish Network so we can get a digg channel with all the top stories for the day. God knows it will be better than CNN or Fox News....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"Mom can we switch to the commercials channel?".. nah i dont see that happening.
- ericodom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I was curious to see when this kind of thing would start happening. With Internet connection speeds getting faster and faster, we'll probably start seeing companies like Google offering new advertising channels in video format more and more from here on out.
This Dish partnership is only the beginning. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4would it be NSFW?...
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3the google channel
Hours of stupid videos
and spending 2 bucks to get episodes of whatever whenever on your tv - ahmerhussain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dish Network? That's odd...
I always thought that Google would partneer with Verizon for thier FiOS TV service, because when I had that service the cable boxes had an IP address and everything, they could even connect to the computers (throught the Verizon Router and Software).
Maybe Dish will make a reciever superior to teh 622, or maybe that ethernet jaack might become of some use. - fluffyturtle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, because reading 12 year old know-it-alls and obviously politically biased comments and articles that are only there through digg fraud just makes me want to snuggle up with a bowl of popcorn and a beer after a long day of work.
- XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yahoo partners with AT&T -> AT&T partners with Dish -> Dish partners with Google
meanwhile...
BellSouth (now AT&T) partners with DirectTV
So Dish is in a second cousin partner relationship with DirectTV and Yahoo has the same arrangement with Google...
Perhaps AT&T should just buy Dish, DirectTV, Yahoo, and Google and get it all over with... - Robertsk8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have dish, and i think its the best. Customer Service is great, though i do hate out sourcing tho.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^ @Atomic1fire
"New to Google TV Checkout? Sign up and get $10 for your next tv show. - LonesomeFighter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why TiVo? I don't think TiVo even makes profit. Besides, once you buy TiVo, and use it for awhile, it gets outdated. But if you get the Cable companies DVR, they will automatically upgrade you. That way you always with the best. And if you use your computer, then well, ***** TiVo.
- XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TiVo has gotten a bit crazy with their subscription rates, but it is constantly updated. TiVo has IPTV content (TiVo Casts), mp3 playback, free open source API development, Amazon unbox downloads (kinda pricey but cool), and much more now, and more still coming...
TiVo is definitely the best software for function and ease of use, cable DVR has some hardware advantages when you compare like priced equipment, and PC based is great for those inclined to keep it working and updated.
. - tymaishu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Verizon already partners with MSN/Microsoft, so this would never happen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Buh-Bye Google video
- XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Almost forgot TiVo, this completes the path...
BellSouth (now AT&T) partners with DirectTV -> DirectTV has relationship with TiVo -> Tivo partners with Yahoo -> Yahoo partners with AT&T -> AT&T partners with Dish -> Dish partners with Google - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google buy a navigate web 265.com of china see there (Google quietly launched emulate Baidu site navigation )http://www.kuziyuan.com/article/2/2007/200703132667.htm
- PoopyMcCrapper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This would more of the real stuff to the people. Instead of fabricated news we get somewhere else.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"This Dish partnership is only the beginning."
This deal is temporary.. A Google/Dish partnership will only exist until Google lights up some of that dark fiber and launches an IPTV service. - curios, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Digg TV would be a storm through the media world.
- todaynow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google should just buy TiVo and offer videos like Amazon is with movies on TiVo its the best
- pleeker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Digg on TV? God forbid....
- scronline, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0That's kind of funny. Dish needs all the help it can get with customer service. And Google needs all the help it can get with making their search engine spam free. This seems like a match made in heaven if you ask me. 1 extremely overrated company and one company that's overrated and likes try and rob customers for everything they're worth. This is coming from a former Dish customer... they tried to charge me for 2 receivers that were sent back and 2 months of service I didn't get nor wanted.
