- JPamplin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27I'm really looking for Outlook sync - if we had that, Google Calendars would be da bomb diggity. ;-)
- dudinatrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The calendar module only works for the main calendar, not any extra calendars you add. Big limitation, I have separate calendars for my work, girlfriend, etc, and I need to view them all at once.
Thankfully, there's a module that does what I need, and does it beautifully I might add: http://www.r2unit.com/gmodule/ - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10They need to add the ability to sync with other software. If this could sync with Outlook and with the Lightning extension on Thunderbird it would be a great way to keep those 2 applications synchronized, in addition to letting me view my calendar anywhere on the internet. With no sync features it is fairly useless though, even though it is a very good calendar website.

This firefox extension lets you have the IG column by the side of your gmail inbox. You can then but the calendar module on your IG page and it will show up when you log in to your inbox. - ionut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Try Remote Calendars (it's open source):

http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/5397/screenshot13rx.png - Avogadro65, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It'd be nice if it showed the events for the day when you moused over the calendar in the /ig module
- ardellin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6yes, but 3rd party only
- urbanRock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You could try clicking on the tab labeled "agenda" right above your monthly view calendar.
- MicrowavedH2o, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7what about syncing with iCal...?
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Both of these have some issues.
The Google Homepage calendar won't let you see any of your extra calendars, only the main one. Which is quite annoying if you keep more than one set of events.
The html generated one (for putting on your own webpages) works okay and has a lot of options, and even lets you pick which calendar to display, but it uses an iframe linking back to their own javascript on their server, which is a bit annoying. I prefer to get the XML feed myself and parse/display it that way. Gives me more control. But if you don't care about that sort of thing, then theirs is at least pretty and AJAXy. - DCstewieG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5iCal and Windows Calendar in Vista can subscribe to it which you will then have for offline viewing. I'm sure there are others. You won't be able to update anything though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Nope. There is a thing called "Remote Connect" or something, but it's not that great. Only works in Outlook, bogs down the machine when you sync, and posting back gives you dupes.
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5More features is certainly always welcome! Thanks Google
- camwest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The calendar also now seems to work properly in Safari
- Tyrel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7In Outlook 2007 there's an option to give it the ICAL link for your calendar, and it will then be integrated. You can't add appointments or anything with it tho, just view them.
- dapperdrake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You can subscribe to the iCal version of your Google Calendar in Sunbird (Mozilla's calendar program).
- shieldss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes, it does.
- Nothlit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This has been a huge failure of Google Calendar thus far. Virtually all of their services like notifications, daily e-mail agenda, and now this module, fail to include any "secondary" calendars that you create in addition to your main calendar. Google really dropped the ball on that, and I can only hope they fix it very soon.
- drlog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6You can interface with their API and do it that way ;)
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm also sore for outlook sync and imap support.
My current strategy was to make a seperate pop email address for each computer I use, and have gmail forward to them. Lately, spamcop has blocked gmail, which means no more forwarding. It's a mess. - SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes.
- jessestay, on 01/21/2009, -4/+6I've had this calendar for about a week now - it is not third party. Not sure when they launched it - old news.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Can I 2-way sync it with outlook yet? Come on Google, you can make all sorts of cool *****, whip something out.
- CGreen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Is there palm support yet?
- dextroz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here is a new version of that FireFox extension talked about above for google calendar with multiple labels visible on your personalized page.
- rprather, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes it does, and syncing it with iCal and now the ability to view it with Safari make for pretty good integration with the Mac
- aboris26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It doesn't work with international personized home very well, it doesn't register that you have a calander
- brandizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well as of two weeks ago (at least, maybe more) I had an official Google calendar.
- uymai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i thought i read on their site that they're working on sync'ing with other applications
- BlueLaser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I completely agree. Outlook is still a better product because it tightly integrates Calendar, Email, Tasks, and Contacts into one application. I really hope that the Gmail team is working on IMAP support so that my Gmail email can be easily synced across all of my devices. As soon as IMAP support is available and the Calendar easily syncs, I'll dump my hosted Exchange 2003 mail.
- Redth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Outlook Sync++
I agree, if i could get this to sync with outlook, i'd ditch exchange server finally! - dextroz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I agree, Google's module is too late and too little. I can't understand why do don't realize that people need reminders for ALL their calendars, not just the personal calendar. The link you mentioned is awesome that way!
- Lynn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Does Google Calendar offer RSS feeds of your events?
- kevincw01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3100% agree, no use without sync for calendar AND gmail contacts.
- dextroz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yeah, people almost forgot about sync contacts in gmail - wonder wtf the people at google are doing - they seem to be taking longer and longer to give more meaningful add-ons. 3000+employees - come on you can do better then that! look at all the stuff on FireFox extensions - and these guys are not even paid!
- smcharo2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On IG page, right underneath the calendar: Quick Add, Create Event, Show Agenda
http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/2794/gcal3dv.png - banjk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Anything to ditch Outlook and Exchange...and pretty much anything else that doesn't do EXACTLY what I want.
- monkenstick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I really need to view my other calendars as well, not just the personal one - is there anyway to do that with that homepage module?
- danielandrews, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm hoping for eventual iCal sync. Can't be too far away!
- dextroz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry here is the URL http://www.r2unit.com/gmodule/
- fronta1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you know what would really be nice, if you could allow other people add events to YOUR calendar
- acurism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ive had no issues with the calendar. I've had the official Calander on my page for a while now.
I especially like the feature of Google Calander to text message your cell phone as a reminder when you have an event... I always forget when I have an appointment - brandizzle, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7Haven't you always been able to add the calendar to your homepage?
- naros, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Is there any way to make the calender persist on local machines, so if I am offline I can still access my schedule?
- colitis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My number one peeve - the iCal export doesn't include the alarms. I can subscribe to my google calendar with iCal, and I can put the results on my phone with iSync, but I don't get the reminders. It's OK if I'm at my computer 'cause I get the popup, but if I'm out and about I have to check my phone instead of letting it tell me it's time to go to something.
If not for this, I'd be using it for everything. - danimal0416, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd like them to update the ability to change the reminder setting, like I can do in Outlook. I find that I want to keep changing the reminders to smaller increments as the appointment time approaches.
- crickert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While I wait for Outlook sycn with gcal, I have been using the Yahoo Widget engine and a newly created GCal yahoo widget that someone came up with a few weeks ago - it allows you to configure it with all of your calendars no just your primary. You can add events right from the widget. Check it out if you want a decent desktop solution.
- kazem, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Couldn't they add the clock to the Calendar? Because they had another widget that I used to use that had a clock and calendar, just before google's calendar was released. I only assumed they'd merge this calendar with their own.
- dharmabruce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Excellent additions. Now they need to add standards support: Sync ML.
