There was a beta google adsense for rss - I don't think they need feedburner for that.

Google buying FeedBurner would cut out the middleman for a lot of feeds on the net.

As it stands right now, FeedBurner has to hit the original source and cache that, and then Google has to hit FeedBurner and cache that for it's reader product. (and others) With this, Google could just check their FeedBurner database when it comes time to display my Reader page.

I thought Feedburner already used adsense.

Google is spreading its wings. This is a very competitive move as Feedvertising is a new way of advertising. People love feeds.

Google is really starting to bother me. Why are they buying everything? And why are you all going along with it like it's fine?

Microsoft did this 10 years ago and everyone went *****. It's a problem.

Of course, if this was Microsoft, ithe repsonses would be "Well, I guess if you can't innovate, you just buy the competition.

And even though that is what mostGoogle did for most of Google's services otehr than search and ad sense, no one talks about hat. And morons stil actually try to claim that Google is innovative.

Steve Jobs has a total lock on the RSS market. Except he calls it podNews and it only works with Quicktime. Such a juggernaut of computing power.

There is nothing wrong in a single company buying everything over the web, dont be jealous !!!

Google should acquire feedburner.

I'd rather Yahoo! bought it and left it alone. Example being what happened to writely vs flickr & delicious.

what good is stats if google is altering them..i cringe everyday i see my stats from mybloglog that i had way more clicks on my site then google tells me and that is ripping me off to keep the advertisers spending with them. Its a no win situation for the bottom publisher you just have to take how they give it. so now if google takes over feedburner which i hope they don't all there going to do is just modify it so that you see it the way they want you to see it..google is big business and there starting to cut the ones that made google ads possible.

Google IS a problem lately. Monopolizing *everything good*? It reminds me on Nineteen Eighty-Four and I would love to see the day about "He who flies high..."

Would be cool but they don't need to buy it. They could easily create their own RSS-service.
