mail.google.com — I know most diggers probably already have Gmail accounts but still this is news. Gmail is no more closed beta. Anyone can now signup with no need to invitations or cell registration. And yes, this is not Google Accounts registartion. It's the real thing.

    Go to https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount and click edit beside My Services and delete your account.

    Make sure you're deleting you're dummy account and not the real one you use.

I click sign up now and it still takes me to a page about sending the code to my cell phone. Either I am not looking in the right area or they havn't fully rolled this out yet.

    Apparently most people don't sell invites anymore- they just make accounts and sell those.

    "To sign up, enter your mobile phone number below. We'll send you a text message with an invitation code to create your account."
    Doesn't seem like anything has changed to me...
