- Yousty, on 04/01/2008, -1/+231Anybody who didn't realize it was an April Fool's joke after reading the description is obviously a moron.
Good job, Google! I found it hilarious. - RyanW2050, on 04/01/2008, -16/+218***** the riaa?
- barkingPumpkin, on 04/01/2008, -1/+141Ummmmm, the ability to even do it is a joke. The option doesn't exist on the compose page.
- plizard, on 04/01/2008, -2/+139wow take a joke
- inactive, on 04/01/2008, -3/+105Now I'd like them to add the feature where I can send emails from the FUTURE!
- FoxOrian, on 04/01/2008, -1/+90It's all fun and games until someone decides to alter a wikipedia entry. Tragic.
- crawf061, on 04/01/2008, -1/+89Anyone that has a problem with this has obviously not tried to send an email to the past. The only place the "feature" is evident is seen is on the fake page. The option is simply not there when you try to send an email.
Come on people, this day is not as big a surprise as it once was. - inactive, on 04/01/2008, -10/+77You use Gmail for business???
- Atom, on 04/01/2008, -0/+59This is why we cant have nice things!

- chanop, on 04/01/2008, -5/+47He fell into one of those work from home pyarmid schemes, alls he had to do was send them a check for $500 to get started
- JanYpe, on 04/01/2008, -2/+44McDonald's needs some way to send him his schedule doesn't it?
- inactive, on 04/01/2008, -0/+35Oh for the love of god.
EVERY article in wikipedia is an edit war. - W00DR0W, on 04/01/2008, -3/+38I kept getting this "The force is strong with you, please wait a few minutes before commenting again." when I tried to post in a tread the other day on digg.
I'm guessing it was some April fools gag that someone at digg un-sportingly started a day early. - darkism, on 04/01/2008, -0/+29Are you kidding? This makes it MORE funny!
- Zekarus, on 04/01/2008, -0/+29Ionno man. I had to send $50k to some Nigerian prince to bribe some custom officials and get his money out.
Haven't heard from him since. - nunofgs, on 04/01/2008, -2/+24Yes. All the way to the YEEEEAAAARRRR TWOOO-THOUSSAAAANNND
- grimward, on 04/01/2008, -1/+22Which is in about two days right? :D
- darkism, on 04/01/2008, -1/+22Well you know how seriously Wikipedians take their unpaid, incredibly time-consuming little hobby.
- Mearn, on 04/01/2008, -0/+20Two words: No *****
- elpepe, on 04/01/2008, -0/+19Gmail doesnt event exist... don't you guys know that the entire concept of Gmail was an April Fools joke from 2004?
- sho222, on 04/01/2008, -0/+16just a thought... you are an idiot.
- krebcycle, on 04/01/2008, -3/+18@fkr
Incorrect, I know many small businesses that use gmail and have gmail host their email domain, and it works great. Some people use outlook with imap to hook up to it, it syncs to blackberries, etc.. very nicely, and it has been WAY more reliable than any other email server I've ever used, including externally managed services and internal email managed by an IT staff. Gmail rocks. So we can't call google up and complain when it goes down; that doesn't mean that they're any less likely to be working 24x7 to get it up again than anyone else would, and they are ***** GREAT at getting it up very quickly. Saying that "your business is a hobby, and you suck at it" just makes you an ignorant *****. You suck at knowing what you're talking about. - W00DR0W, on 04/01/2008, -1/+16To clarify, I wasn't commenting too much, in fact it was the first I had commented in a few days.
- celkin, on 04/01/2008, -2/+17This + YouTube's massive rickroll = EPIC WIN for Google
- unearth, on 04/01/2008, -0/+14Dwight,
At 8AM today, someone poisons the coffee. Do not drink the coffee. More instructions will follow.
Cordially,
Future Dwight - cliffr39, on 04/01/2008, -0/+13yes but those paid ones aren't "Gmail" and aren't showing this april fools "feature" in the upper right... at least mine isn't, only gmail is.
- klco, on 04/01/2008, -1/+14It would have been a lot funnier to say they were saving all of their jokes for last year...
- DanBoodro, on 04/01/2008, -0/+13Did everyone miss this one too??? Looks like they took it off the main page.
http://www.google.com/virgle/index.html - prkchpsndwiches, on 04/01/2008, -0/+13A War? There are 2-3 usernames changing items on the revision history.
- Batiu-Drami, on 04/01/2008, -0/+12Just send it from a regular mail client (thunderbird etc.) and change your system clock to the desired email send time ;)
- Mizzy, on 04/01/2008, -1/+13Some people need to learn from the Jews, they know how to take a joke.
- Niightwitch, on 04/01/2008, -4/+16What's wrong with using gmail for business?
- tidu, on 04/01/2008, -4/+16out of my sight at -4 diggs.
....awesome. - iamondigghaha, on 04/01/2008, -0/+11uh, fail. he's holding the shift key, douchebag
- qwertydvorak, on 04/01/2008, -1/+12send away: http://futureme.org/
- alvinhokid, on 04/01/2008, -1/+12Another reason why Google is one the best companies out there - cause unlike the ppl who wrote this article, they actually have a sense of humor lol
- coit, on 04/01/2008, -2/+12Three Words:
Lighten up, Francis. - Shadowgamers, on 04/01/2008, -0/+9People haven't been on the internet long enough when they can't see that April 1st is the one day that webmasters can utterly ***** with their userbase in the most hilarious of ways and have almost no repercussions :V
- theaceoffire, on 04/01/2008, -0/+9No wai!
- goblindegook, on 04/01/2008, -0/+9Please. What *doesn't* start a Wikipedia war?
- oldhick, on 04/01/2008, -0/+9While in gmail this is simply a joke (do a little research), most email programs allow you to do this. From Exchange to Lotus to any SMTP server, its not hard to change the time stamp. It won't match up every where in the email but its fun to mess with people.
Lighten up loser. - cliffr39, on 04/01/2008, -6/+14Before you b!tch about Google's YEARLY jokes messing with your "business use", you should read the terms of use
http://www.google.com/mail/help/terms_of_use.html
"Personal Use. The Service is made available to you for your personal use only." Gmail is for personal use, they have Google Apps for business use like my college has. They aren't doing this practical joke there
So stop being so uptight, it is April Fools day, and Google has been doing this since 2000 with all their services. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google's_hoaxes -
