The man leaves the office on "work" business for weeks at a time without checking his email or voicemail. This leave us to make excuses and stall the infuriated people that call us to look for him.
He stalls every project until the last minute or past deadline - then sends out angry emails saying he thinks the project was "badly handled".
A colleague of mine was late once because she had to have someone fix her boiler. Even though she notified him, Devil Boss greeted her with a nasty email questioning her "committment" to her role.
Another colleague asked to have 30min flexibility in her schule so she could attend an evening course. She was turned down.
This week we've been sent a nasty email that we can't all go to lunch at the same time because 45 minutes is too long to leave the department "uncovered" (we're marketing, not a goddamn call center).
He comes up with stupid ideas that are unfeasable (we tell him they're not feasable) and then leaves them with us to implement (so they can fall apart in our hands).
We don't have staff meetings because he prefers to meet with us "one-on-one". Our last 3 "one-on-ones" were cancelled.
He regularly takes "sick days" after getting sloshed at a work event the night before.
When someone complains about him to higher-ups there's always an excuse.
