Gateway flies high with Air Force PC dea

news.com.com — The U.S. Air Force has inked an $8 million contract to outfit its military bases with nearly 10,000 Gateway desktop PCs, the company said on Wednesday. The special-order Gateway E-4300 computers have Intel Pentium processors, at least 1GB of computer memory and 80GB serial ATA hard drives.

  • WackyT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The last time the Air Force bought Gateway they were horrendous. They had a hidden BIOS section that some programs we used just didn't like, and Gateway refused to admit to it. The best computer I saw during my time in were the Microns. Too bad they're not still around.
