techcrunch.com — Currently, you can rotate photos on Flickr, but the editing stops there. They just announced a new partnership with Seattle-based Picnik to integrate Flash photo editing tools directly into Flickr

- quadvods, on 10/21/2007, -1/+2It annoys me that rotating images in facebook is easier and quicker than on a dedicated photo site I pay to use. Isn't it time flickr got more funky with its web 2.0ness
- ohsin, on 10/21/2007, -3/+10I use picnik. it works well with flickr http://www.picnik.com
- meamog, on 10/22/2007, -0/+13If you'd read the article, you'd know that flickr has actually PARTNERED with picnik.
- corsairstw, on 10/21/2007, -0/+8Well, you can keep using Picnik because the editing tools they are adding are from Picnik.
- eean, on 10/21/2007, -0/+5Yea exactly, I wonder how this partnership changes anything.
- avatarpalin, on 10/21/2007, -0/+1Hey cheers thanks for that!!
- tedhead2k, on 10/21/2007, -5/+11Too bad the free accounts still have such tight restrictions on the number and size of photos you can have.
Come on flickr... Facebook and Picasa are doing it right.- eean, on 10/21/2007, -0/+13Ain't no free lunch. Facebook has an unacceptably small resolution and Picasa has a cap on the total.
- tedhead2k, on 10/21/2007, -0/+1Picasa's cap is much higher.

- HenkPoley, on 10/21/2007, -1/+3Will they include "seam carving" technology? For example as in http://rsizr.com/
- sifiblog, on 10/21/2007, -4/+0Flickr content comes with a creative commonslicense, meaning anyone can save, edit, and use the photos on any medium, without having to pay royalty fees. Even for commercial use. With image editing capability cool "mashups" of photos should be available, with the same cc license.
- eean, on 10/21/2007, -0/+5wow this is exactly why some folks don't like the CC licenses. Only some Flickr photos have CC licenses that allow commercial use or that allow changes.

- Intrepion, on 10/21/2007, -2/+16This looks flickred. I can tell by some of the pixels and the fact that I've seen quite a few flickrs in my time.
- brambley, on 10/21/2007, -6/+2picnik == flex == awesomesz
- googeling, on 10/21/2007, -8/+0I still love Photobucket better, anything Yahoo! doesn't sound too good to me.
Maybe Google should also come up with something, online.- eean, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2Picasa dude.
- ajbriggs, on 10/21/2007, -1/+1... How can I learn the ability to slap someone over standard SMTP? ... Picasa find it dude!
- FiP0, on 10/21/2007, -0/+8I just had a crazy vision of google documents in the future, with an online photoshop equivalent... :)
- Atomic1fire, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2or a webeditor for picasa
- mmmike, on 11/10/2007, -1/+2http://www.news.com/2100-7345_3-6163015.html
- Laytonx, on 10/21/2007, -0/+6I like and use Picnik, but the site does vomit web 2.0 all over you.
- jadjadjad, on 10/21/2007, -1/+3i still think picasa has better upload quantities and qualities. flickr really does need to fix their upload restrictions and use integration software like google's picasa where you can edit photos. the online stuff will be slow.

- Kailash.Nadh, on 10/21/2007, -3/+1really?? :-s
- piggy2, on 10/21/2007, -2/+1feature creep at it's finest. now things will be even slower. thanks flickr.
- afflusso, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2It was just a day ago I was looking for a "crop" button on flickr and wondered why it wasn't there. thanks flickr.
- badboys213, on 10/21/2007, -1/+1Does anyone know how to spell?!?!
- dognose, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1My current favorite is http://lunapic.com/ .. It's got a bunch of animations you can add and seems a lot faster to me.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2flicknic?
- command-tab, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one who does all the editing and adjusting before posting photos to Flickr? It's cool and all to have the features available, but I can't see myself using them very often.
- u2wedge, on 10/21/2007, -1/+1I thought Google bought Picnik?
- troubleshot, on 10/21/2007, -0/+0What about a few more tweaks to Flickr, hope this opens the floodgates...
- ubergeek09, on 10/21/2007, -0/+0Sure it's somewhat cool, but why don't people use the GIMP, or Photoshop (if they feel like spending the money that is), before they upload the pictures...
