- deadapostle, on 12/01/2008, -2/+44My favorite tool for burning things is a blowtorch.
- Zaraphrax, on 12/01/2008, -0/+34ImgBurn for the win!
- flashboy131, on 12/01/2008, -2/+27I'm a mac user but I hate people like you.
- pedo, on 12/01/2008, -0/+21nero was good when it was like a 20 or 30MB download
- dtraneighty8, on 12/01/2008, -1/+21Glad to hear that everything's decided for you.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -2/+21Nero = Bloatware
Brasero does the job perfectly - MScrip, on 12/01/2008, -0/+15I use Nero 8 Micro.
It's the same ol' Nero... stripped down to the bare essentials!
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/d ... - aladrin, on 12/01/2008, -0/+12K3B! Too bad it's only for Linux, I really really like it better than anything I've used on Windows.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -2/+12SO? Even Windows and Linux has that feature built right in. Now stop jacking off to jobs pictures.
- sonofabeast, on 12/01/2008, -1/+10That's like assuming that you're an albino.
- RandyStott, on 11/30/2008, -2/+11What about burrrn? I love that for audio cds.
- Dailydose4me, on 12/01/2008, -0/+8Atlast something other than Nero. Nice.
- theOster, on 12/01/2008, -2/+9don't you have a starbucks to go to?
- zsz7, on 12/01/2008, -2/+9K3B
- brickbat, on 12/01/2008, -1/+8Toast
- Abomonog, on 12/01/2008, -3/+10Both are crap compared to any of the software choices in this list.
- Zippo, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6And, for the Mac, Toast Titanium is the way to go.
And, if you don't want to pay or pirate Toast, "Burn" is a decent burning app too.
Of course, you can burn a lot of what you need within OS X itself and apps it comes with. You can burn data CD/DVDs from Finder, burn audio CDs from iTunes, and author DVDs using iDVD. - skinny01, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6I like to burn people with my sharp wit.
-Kelso - angrykeyboarder, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6I prefer flamethrower
- abbathdoom, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5I just shoot fire bolts out of my finger tips.
- nickpick, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5Nero 6 was pretty good. Everything from there onwards is bloatware though.
- angrykeyboarder, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5I'm not a slave to any of them. In Linux my first choice is k3b, but I also use Brasero from time to time (I run both KDE and GNOME). In Windows it's Nero 8, but for quick and dirty ISO work, I really like ImgBurn.
- darkened, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5I have to agree with you, this list inaccurate without dvd decrypter.
- PrometheusZero, on 12/01/2008, -1/+6Something that's too unnecessarily large, feature packed or slow for it's purpose.
- Rememberthe0511, on 12/01/2008, -2/+6See "Microsoft".
- Rememberthe0511, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4Hey, Don't forget that Linux is free. lol
You're welcome to come join us at any time. - pedo, on 12/01/2008, -2/+6seriously, its like microsoft programmers got together and said "whats the dumbest way we can do this?"
- lolupissed, on 12/01/2008, -2/+6I love Imgburn/dvd decrypter I have like a teraybyte and a half of dvd isos on my media computer
- mrn111, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3Don't you mean Steve Mobbs? Sorry, I saw the Simpsons last night.
- xyphur, on 12/01/2008, -1/+4I love me some InfraRecorder goodness. Definitely one of my must-have apps.
- cptmichael101st, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3first thing i thought of:
"Hey...I guess they're right! Old people, though slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. Don't you go dyin' on me!" - angrykeyboarder, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3Brasero is has been the default in Ubuntu for the past 3-4 releases. It's a pretty decent program.
- zip000, on 12/01/2008, -1/+4K3B is by far my favorite - I've used several of the ones from the list, and K3B is just a lot better. I can't even specify why I like it so much more, but I've been very happy with it for the past 2-3 years.
I really really dislike Nero. I haven't used it in probably 4-5 years, so maybe it has gotten better, but I hated it back then. - theOster, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3with mapgas - because i like saying "mapgas"
- zip000, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2It could be your CD burner. For a long time I was using the crappy burner that came with my Dell, and was getting coasters about 30% of the time. I bought a new burner - I don't remember the brand - and virtually no bad CDs since.
- Snakedal337, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3Stop buying the "$5 for 2 packs of 100 CD-Rs!" specials, you might have better luck.
- irishjays, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3Are there any Toast equivs? and what was that one that came with my last ubuntu installation, it had a nice interface from what I remember.
- habbofresh, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3*pinches nose and makes nerdy voice*
"I use dd, mkisofs and cdrecord because I use linux"
there. that should take care of the obligatory post about not using windows. - fmoliveira, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3It destroys most of my media. I wonder if the writers that are sold in the usa are different, or if its the media or whatever. but with me cdburnerxp is unusable
- nshady, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Anyone used Disco for Mac? I'm interested in knowing whether it's worth the purchase.
- motters, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2On Ubuntu to burn an ISO to a CD/DVD you just right click on the file and select "burn to disc". No further software required.
- mabsark, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Who cares? ImgBurn is free and so much better.
- specialK16, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3Mapple. It just sucks.
- tendonut, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3Bragging about a Terabyte? It's not 2004 anymore. Terabyte hard drives are around $100 now. I have two.
- geodescent, on 12/01/2008, -3/+5Be warned. CDBurnerXP, though a great Nero replacement, can suck some serious CPU cycles...
- zlgr1zak, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1I prefer Ashampoo 2006 .Very light in memory, minor problems in burning ,only sometimes if i have to stop the recording.Tested powerburn and PowerLaserExpress The first was not so good but i think the other was quite better
- mabsark, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Roxio sucks, ImgBurn kicks ass.
- inactive, on 07/28/2009, -0/+1how do you light up a cigarette?
- fmoliveira, on 12/01/2008, -1/+2cdburnxp always destroys my blank cds and dvds, and I always end again with nero. none of these free windows burning software ever worked any good at least with me. linux programs worked ok
- rheaume, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Nero is on there but no Xtodvd? Stoned or what, cant remember how many crap dvds Nero cranked out, i stoppped using it altogether, including a afterfx presentation i made for my father in law's 60th birthday with 200 ppl sitting there while the ***** thing died.
