- jazh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9As an advertiser, it would be some achievement to do advertising for one company to dominate Internet and paper-based advertising.
Fresh-face? Sorry I don't need one. Google search is great, google ads are not annoying and i'm seeing plenty of innovation. - GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Seems to be a step backwards for Google, in my opinion. What's this got to do with the "Google Experience"?
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Google is an advertisement company. I hardly see how Google running print ads is any different from another company running print ads. You're not getting more ads, it's merely just that the ads you see are now paid for by Google.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How do these ads actually look like? Is it like classifieds?

I know that handy tip isn't in Digg's FAQ. - dragonlor20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I generally agree with you... I really do... But when I think of the people I know that have gone to work for google, and the way that google operates, I really don't see anything but more of the same coming out anytime soon. There are a lot of people out there that are afraid of Google, but all we have seen thus far is quality. That doesn't really quell anyone's fears I know, but strictly comparatively speaking, Google has shown us less reason to fear the misuse of their power than MANY other corporations out there.
- myobie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Altavista was the junk, they had the best search back in the day. Those were the days.
I wanna see the actual ads they place. - goaliegirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was hoping to see an example of what the print ads would look like in a search.
Not surprising Google would take this route, however, it seems like a natural "next step" in their advertising empire. - wbienek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Exactly. The temptation to add ads everywhere will ultimately be too powerful for Google to resist. And in my opinion, their results aren't THAAAT much better than the competitors..
- N3wtR0ckn13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just so damn innovative.
- rustybrick, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Covered first at http://www.ppcdiscussions.com/2007/05/google-print-newspaper-setup-screens.html But nice work Andy on this post.
- timtimes, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
HEADLINE: Google innovation allows us to be bombarded with even MORE ADS!
And you can bet that if there's any extra revenue in it for the newspapers we'll be reading more about this new Google ad thing than lies about WMD's before the war.
Enjoy. - ansujay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0it ll just be a matter or time before google becomes the king of the Web..what with more n more service offerings coming every week/month.. think its always better to have good competition in everything.. but it doesnt seem to be happening with google's case..
if there's no stiff competition in d near future, it ll be bad for users.. cos monopoly is generally bad - wbienek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@ansujay
