- MrDoug, on 07/09/2009, -2/+143Those have to be the worst "leak" pictures I've ever seen....
It's a logo on a screen. I could do that in 5min. - ToastPop, on 07/09/2009, -3/+116It's a strange coincidence how people who leak photos can never afford a decent camera isn't it?
- giz0r, on 07/09/2009, -6/+103fake
- JshMRsn, on 07/09/2009, -3/+76It doesn't match Google's style to have the entire product name in alternating colors. The "docs" in "Google docs" is all light blue, for example.
Seems off to me. - donkz, on 07/09/2009, -6/+67OMG THAT WHITE SCREEN WITH CHROME LOGO ON IT IS SO AWESOME
SPRAYING CUM EVERYWHERE - allcapitalized, on 07/09/2009, -4/+39Please change the font, it's not 1995 anymore.
- supakoopa, on 07/09/2009, -6/+40The bar on the bottom of the page looks interesting. As a whole, it looks simple. Lets hope that means simple to use too.
- Twenty5, on 07/09/2009, -3/+32......seriously?
You guys HAD to digg this didn't you?
ITS FAKE.
Just read the original post, it sounds like a 6 year old trying to pull a prank on all of us. And its working....
Still dont belive me? Go all the way down the page (under the pics):
"Let’s see how fast these spread.
Sincerely,
Classified Information"
What a joke....
http://chromeosleak.wordpress.com/ - drewhoo, on 07/09/2009, -1/+25+ setup wordpress blog 15min
+ submit to social media/blogs 5min
+ get enough response 10min-10days
... you've gotta factor it all in mate ;) - JshMRsn, on 07/09/2009, -2/+22There's a desktop icon in the top left corner.
- syphern, on 07/09/2009, -7/+27Fake
- Ramzy, on 07/09/2009, -2/+20Nah bro, it's like, totally real. Here's, like, another picture, of the boot screen.
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8683/image002usd. ...
See? Now it's 100% real. - MemoryDump, on 07/09/2009, -0/+17probably fake.. give me 5mins and I can reproduce all those screenshots.. they won't even be blurry
- thinboyslim, on 07/09/2009, -3/+20Hahaha, brilliant. So a couple of days after Google announce they're building an OS for 2010 someone's got it up and running just sitting on their kitchen counter! Nice wallpaper and ObjectDock but you need a little bit more for an OS.
- INTERNETMASTER, on 07/09/2009, -0/+17what release? it's a "private developer beta"
- techdever, on 07/09/2009, -0/+164mins for jerking off and 1min for photoshop?
- chadsmith729, on 07/09/2009, -2/+18Google Talk ... on a Linux Kernel? WHY THE ***** HAVEN'T THEY RELEASED THAT YET FOR THE REST OF THE LINUX WORLD? WE'VE BEEN YELLING ABOUT THAT FOR OH SAY .... EVER!
- gamepr0, on 07/09/2009, -3/+17Yes I've never seen such a bar before, what an innovation, can't wait.
- AgentBarcode, on 07/09/2009, -2/+13Faker than fake ***** and not as enjoyable.
- PowderedToasty, on 07/09/2009, -1/+12I have Photoshop too
- flashingcurser, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10Why is tamano getting dugg down? I could easily make that with fluxbox in a few minutes. There are several addons to flux for desktop icons. It's either fake or google is using black/flux.
Does anyone else remember when digg was a tech site? - TrevorPace, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10My BIOS stuff gets out of the way in like 2 seconds at most. I'd rather leave that functional and slightly slow then start tearing out features from it.
- jsmithers, on 07/09/2009, -7/+15Phone camera, low light, no flash, in a hurry when official isn't looking, shot from an angle with no time to steady hands, etc.
Entirely plausible. Totally real, I'd say. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -6/+14Looks fake to me.
- gamepr0, on 07/09/2009, -0/+7but why is it shot from different angles... if they're in a sear this isn't possible, so they had to be able to walk around it and i don't think they'd do that during a presentation.
- rbarnes, on 07/09/2009, -0/+7Believe you mean worthless DRIVEL, not dribble. Worthless dribble is what happens when you pass the ball to Ron Artest.
- techdever, on 07/09/2009, -0/+7The OS X killer is the kernel panic
- Bloodwine, on 07/09/2009, -1/+8I'd be wary of using a Google OS, though. At least I know Microsoft isn't reporting all my desktop activities back to the mothership so it can collect and sell information to advertisers or be used internally at Google to adjust advertising campaigns.
Microsoft is a software company.
Google is an advertising company. - gdenne, on 07/09/2009, -0/+6Themes in iGoogle and Gmail are bland? C'mon now...
- Twenty5, on 07/09/2009, -0/+6The Google font colors are not even right.....
- eatporktoo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5I am not sure that these are fake, you would think if they were fake that the poster would have put a little more effort into a fake UI... That being said, if you read the blog post it is pretty amusing how idiotic the guy who posted these pics are, he is worried about keeping his identity secret, but he gave like 5 different ways for acer and Google to identify him...
- norman619, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6LOL!!! This could easily be wallpaper with the desktop hidden.
- stuartjmoore, on 07/09/2009, -2/+7Google isn't known for their harsh design rules. Esp in a private beta.
They're getting better, though. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5it's a spray?
- Twenty5, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Easy, its fake....
thats a wallpaper you see there on the acer..... - dukeeeey, on 07/09/2009, -2/+7this is not even news
its worthless dribble, come back when you have something real - dn11, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4that blurry and highly dubious cell phone shot supposedly showing a very early developer beta consisting mainly of a blank desktop, has totally made up my mind that Chrome OS looks like crap.
- joshboese, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4"Google" isn't even spelled using the correct colors. Fake.
- Bloodwine, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Duke Nukem Forever?
- tamano, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Yeah, I noticed one (somehow, this didn't look like official icon for GTalk). But Google loves gadgets and desklets.... so I thought they might rid icons all together.
- Yazilliclick, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4You really don't understand his post, do you chap?
The odds that google announces an OS and then just a couple days later some bad photos show up of secret pics of this new OS are fairly low. Especially when you consider that these days practically every new product has fake images of it come out all the time because it gets traffic and attention for the people who made the images. - gambl0r, on 07/09/2009, -2/+6the fakest fake that ever was faked.
- toxicityj, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4I found another screenshot.
http://i27.tinypic.com/2nu7ifk.jpg - geesamba, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Well, I...
JIZZED IN MY PANTS. - CoreyTamas, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3I suggest you ask for your money back.
- geoken, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3The shape of the Icon backdrop is meant to denote it's hit area which should obviously be rectangular to maximize the space it can use.
The basic paradigm is that when you're in an object's hit area, the entire hit area takes the appearance of an interactable object letting the user know they can now initiate an action. When some part of the UI lights up with no direct visual connection to the mouse's current position it can sometimes be confusing. - LolzAtYou, on 07/09/2009, -2/+5Tbh i wouldn't want an Os from Google, as it would be Filled with ads and cookie tracker *****. Its how they make their money.
- Cglass, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Still waiting...
- tamano, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Thanks flash, but they are on this "you didn't see the icon, blind FAIL" mode and I guess I'm being punished now for that. When the new OS's WM is actually flux-based (probably not), these diggers owe me some apology.
- LoneWolf01, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3That's the first thing I noticed.
