- luet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+160Holy *****, you're right. The first 1 trillion-pixel image is of *****.
- JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+156The caption for the photo is as follows:
"After seeing his last bandwidth bill, the 'pics or it didn't happen' guy finally shut his mouth." - addiggt, on 07/06/2009, -3/+107Well, that's definitely over 9000.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -12/+108I don't know, it might make the movie more interesting if you can see each and every sperm squirming around on her chest.
- XedLos, on 10/12/2007, -8/+98Well The porn industry didn't like high def because it showed imperfections of model, how do you think they will react to this? LOL
- fober, on 10/12/2007, -1/+72Figures the image is of a breast.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -5/+741095630 x 939495 size 2875.94GB

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+49SFW?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+45for someone named "webguy", you sure as hell don't know anything about downloading files.
- yubpro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42So, does anyone have the torrent file...?
- XenophobicAlien, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40I don't believe it, hold on let me count.. Ok thats 1 pixel, 2 pixel, 3 pixel, 4 pixel, 5 pixel......
- thedude1181984, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40it is in fact an actual breast
- jamespurdy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35Who would mirror that image? Lol

- chugger1992, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Their servers probably overloaded in only one download XD
- carleethian, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29i'm afraid to click the link
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25"You wanna see pain? Swing by First Methodist Tuesday nights. See the guys with testicular cancer. That's pain. "
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Just because they're infested with cancer doesn't mean they're not boobies.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23Fitting how the first terapixel image on the web is a picture of boobs.
- Emachine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18"But this is HDTV. It's got better resolution than the real world."
- danarama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16couldn't this be of space or something?
- Rhino2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18
Without the blog spam: http://www.medgadget.com/
And (I may go to hell for this), a direct link to the 1 trillion pixel image (and you thought hotlinking a 5KB animated gif was bad!):
http://www.aperio.com/bigtiff/terapixel.htm - skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15"grammer/spelling!"
"do you feel lucky... well are you, feeling lucky, punk?"
How about finding some wiki links on how to spell the word "grammar" (in a threat to attack someone else's grammar and spelling, no less) or how to use commas? - dd240sx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I want my HD TV in that resolution
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Actually, I don't nearly have the disk space :( .
- JavertHolmes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Something about this picture makes me want to go out and buy cotton candy.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I'm totally downloading it onto one of my new 500GB hard drives.
/edit
Umm, nevermind. - AzrimEkim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I think that if you tried to open that with Apple Preview, the computer would probably just explode.
- olegk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Well, no standard version of Photoshop will be able to handle picture that big. Guys at gigapxl.org worked with modified Photoshop that can handle 4 gigapixel images. Not sure about terapixel. That's basically 1TB of a swap file, if you load it as a non-RGB file (grayscale or indexed).
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14"Aperio's terapixel image shows extraordinary detail of breast cancer tissue"
I dont know what breast you've been fondling but cancer isnt an actual breast. But hey whatever floats your boat. - chuckpenzone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Can you even Photoshop an image that size? ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7as expected, the first 1 trillion pixel camera is used to take picture of boobies.
- Suplyndmnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I'm not *even* going to try to load that picture as I'm anti-setting-my-PC-on-fire. But, dugg because it's uber.
- brianegge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7To bad someone already purchased trillionpixelhomepage.com. Think of how much money could be made selling the pixels. Then again, the page would take a few weeks to load, and probably crash your browser long before it loaded.
- tom2275, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I work in the geospatial IT sector, so really big images are pretty common place. but at a certain point, it doesn't make sense to put this into a flat-file. that's why companies like Oracle (spatial) and ESRI (ArcSDE) have been putting large rasters like this into RDBMS' for years. Imagery collections like what google has in google maps has been loaded into a database as a single, mosaic'ed raster. 1TB pixels = 1,000,000 x 1,000,000. That's really not that big of an image. Sure its cool they got it into a single file, but how efficient is a 250 gig file?
- BenO169, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Well they have Blu-Ray discs available to download on newsgroups and torrents. Theyre around 30-40 gigs a piece. So at 143 gigs it's like downloading 4 or so Blu-Ray DVD's. It doesn't seem unfathomable.
- Snoochy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Did I just get 140 gigs of cache?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Rhino, FYI, you lost. I just downloaded 5 HD movies this past weekend (about 150GB), not to mention the 300+ GB of other ***** I have downloaded in the past month. So yeah, it's completely possible. And just like skankyB already said, you shouldn't go threatening people with grammar corrections when you cant even spell grammar correctly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You don't have to use the (tm) we know you are talking about the software and not a shop with photos. We also know that you aren't talking about actual windows.
- zouhair, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I would like to say : ***** GREAT but ***** it it's a ***** cancer, sorry for the girl :(
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Would you even want to?
- popothebright, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Meh... it's a tiled image.
This is non news. Anyone can tile thousands of images together in a panning window and create an image of absurdly large size (far greater than 1 trillion).
Hi res satellite data of the earth, when tiled, vastly exceeds the size of this image.
This is a non story being spun as a breakthrough. - idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Anyone got a torrent?
- ggko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Mars.
- zhulien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4actually that image they are claiming is a terrapixel is actually only 540x289 pixels :D
- aussieaubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3its called BIGTIFF!!!! thats incredible.... they should have released this on April 1 :)
