- Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24Yea and IE7 charges for some of the addons, what an idiotic decision.
- jm1234567890, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Google Browser Sync needs to be there
http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/browsersync/ - tengfactor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Really well-thought out UI---aesthetically pleasing and easy to use, plus a good integration of existing web services. This is the kind of product that once you see it, you think "duh, this is how it should be done", but before you see it, it's totally non-obvious.
- nclbbs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I concur, I didn't even realise Digg had ads on it until a friend (who doesn't have Adblock) mentioned it. :)
- sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15If Download Statusbar is such an awesome extension (which it is), why isn't it just a standard feature of the browser?
- rockintom99, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Bah, where's downthemall? It's my favorite firefox extension: http://www.downthemall.net/
- 1911wolf, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Adblock Plus.... fantastic!
- Smily, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9because it's an extension already and not everyone wants it? (don't get me wrong, I love it :))
- SimonGray, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It is.
- gorgalor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Indeed. Adblock Plus - not to be confused with regular Adblock - takes Internet browsing to the next level. You don't realize how annoying all the ads are until you've switched over to another browser and see blinky mortgage ads and websites for singles that pop up everywhere. Honestly, I would use FF for Adblock Plus alone.
- bdrydyk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7-Endless features in a great product. Wonder what can save IE7!
Being bundled with Vista, unfortunately. - adam123, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Because, as the CEO of Mozilla noted, they don't want to fill the browser with unwanted features that not everyone wants, when they can give you the option to install whatever you think will improve the browsing "experience".
- Bender1012, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Calvin: "Mom, Dad! I just saw some ads on TV for products that I never knew existed, but desperately need!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Adblock Plus + https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1136/ = perfect
- xmpcray, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7I read it as Down_The_Mall.net! Why the hell would I need a extension to go down the mall? ;)
- flippedcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2go here: http://home.comcast.net/~astrotronix/files/ffext/ffindex.html
or direct download : http://home.comcast.net/~astrotronix/files/ffext/minimizetotray-0.0.2.20061024.xpi - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Where's the plugin that blocks users that have the need to mention Opera in every single Digg Firefox thread?
- Gemini25RB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone know if there are any dark color themes that work for FF2? Honestly, its the only reason I haven't switched (I can't stand the light!)
- mikescrutton, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3What are the advantages of Adblock Plus over Adblock - and can I migrate my Adblock filters to Adblock Plus?
- mb309, on 12/31/2008, -3/+4Internet advertisers must be cursing Mozilla for including Adblock in the list, I wonder how it affects their relationship with Google (if at all?).
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like Stealther rather than Distrust.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thumbs high for the Filterset.G Updater!! I love those two add-ons. Best ever.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Screw ads. Why would a browser give a damn? Their ad money doesn't go to Mozilla.
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Zombies surf the net too, you know.
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I don't want that ugly theme and Sage. But still, they're included.
- techpurveyor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2BlueOrganizer is my favorite on the list...it's all about smart browsing.
- flashboy131, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this guy has the coolest themes for FF: http://www.takebacktheweb.org/
- Bloc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2minimize to tray! i need this extension!
- WarBiscuit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not sure if these are available for FF2 yet, but for FF1.5, I swear by 'em...
All-In-One Gestures ... best gestures plugin out there.
BugMeNot ... automatically queries and fills out registration forms
using the bugmenot database, all at a touch of the button. hello NYT.com
Distrust ... turn it on, browse the web, and when you turn it off,
it rolls back the history & cache & downloads so as to leave no evidence
of where you just went. good for visiting monster.com from work.
NoScript ... disable scripting for sites you don't trust.
Also, if you use del.icio.us, i highly recommend the del.icio.us plugin,
it integrates the site into your browser in a nice fashion. - daroot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3yeah, i think its great too... definitely better than FlashGot i think... at least two of the most important developer-plugins are featured ;) (firebug and webdeveloper)
- mr.hostility, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Delicious plugin is great. Nice to have my bookmarks synced over all my computers!
- littlebiker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Ditto that. FireFox has shown consistent improvement/innovation quite inversely proportional to the IE7 development roadmap. I tried stumbleupon but took it off - which are the other must have plugins for firefox? GreaseMonkey has been my favorite for a long time - and I guess for many others:

Endless features in a great product. Wonder what can save IE7! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Downloaded Cooliris Previews half-hour ago, and it's working fine for me.
wish I'd known about it earlier, it's brill :) - dgo1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Cooliris is awesome.
- noamsml, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I saw that yesterday. The Firebug extension referred to in there is great, and really helped me do lots of stuff.
- CoolWind, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I just installed it no problems and it works fine in FF 2.0
- 1911wolf, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3mike,
Your current list is migrated automatically, at least it was for me. The main feature I like about the Plus version is that it subscribes to a central list of known ad-servers. Also, I think, the non Plus version is no more. - EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Not much. Adblock doesn't block ads on Google search. It may block adsense, but that isn't their primary source of revenue (however large it is).
- cds0528, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I agree too, great UI, and a pretty good list too. Missing from the list: Googlepedia, DownThemAll, IE Tab, Video Downloader, and Fasterfox, although fasterfox is incompatible with firefox 2.0, which is probably why it's not on the list.
- TwistedMenta, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Middle click or Crtl-Left click will open a link in another tab.
Edit: BTW, the Middle click has a check box in the tab options that needs to be set. - Wichenroder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I think the idea is add-ons that work with the new firefox release, not ones that were last listed in 2005
- newtonapple, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A warning for the del.icio.us plug-in. It is horrible. It takes over your firefox bookmarks, and won't allow you to get to your old bookmarks unless you uninstall the plug-in or import your offline bookmarks to del.icio.us. That's ridiculously. If you prefer to keep your personal and technical bookmarks separate, you're out of luck. Not to mention the plug-in keep logging into del.icio.us everytime you open firefox, and bring back the bookmark tool bar EVERYTIME even if you unchecked it.
I appreciate the integration Yahoo!'s trying to pull off, but to make the plug-in truly usable they need to fix the bugs, and stop holding people's bookmarks for hostage.
that's my 2 cents. - koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Google Browser Sync is the only reason I use both Firefox and Safari on my Mac. It's extremely useful if I need to switch to another machine, like my Ubuntu box.
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2NoScript FTW
- cobr@, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3foxytunes, thats all i have to say
- peterredding, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I downloaded Cooliris Previews and StumbleUpon to try them out and neither of them are compatible with Firefox 2. I'm sure they will be updated soon but I had to laugh at the fact that Mozilla relaunched the recommended add-ons page to coincide with the release of Firefox 2 and then included add-ons that don't work with it.
Even so, there is a lot of good stuff in the list (Adblock is probably my favourite). - brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'm an Opera user but I've just downloaded Firefox 2 to give it another go... just wondering what my fellow Diggers would recommend in terms of extensions and themes, I have Adblock, FoxyTunes, Tab Catalog, VideoDownloader, and also the Noia 2.0 theme.
Another thing: in Opera, to open a link in the background you hold Shift+Ctrl, how do you do the same thing in Firefox? Tools -> Options... -> Tabs -> UNchecked "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" but it doesn't seem to work... - eyesx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Check these 50 best firefox extensions for power surfing
http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/2005/12/50-best-firefox-extensions-for-power-surfing/ - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Indeed. I'm confused as to why this made it, but Google's did not:

I put sites that i use a lot in the adblock whitelist. I think digg deserves it, considering the service it provides. -
