- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52Finding girlfriend's pic on p2p --> bad
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46heh, sweet. Nice to know some people here can take a joke.
- AgentEntropy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39I met my wife online over six years ago. Dated for four years, and now we've been married for two.
- gb506, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42And how are those Russian lessons going?
- AgentEntropy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+45I know! Your mom told me!
By the way, I actually dugg you up for that comment :) - weiran, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33I met my girlfriend online and I've been with her for over a year now. Woo!
- usmevans7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Back when my wife and I started dating and we told people we met on the Internet we'd get some strange looks and comments, but when you think about it why is a meeting made in a bar considered more normal or rational? We were able to talk to each other for months before ever meeting in real life, sounds like a much more sound way to find someone than some of the other methods people try to use.
- apetrie, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31billyboobs: Yes, including this one. Fool.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I hear that. In fact I married mine and we just recently had our first baby. :-D
For people that don't like hanging out at bars and stuff it's a great option. I guess if I was at the bar and could simply eliminate certain girls by checking a few radio buttons, filling in a few fields and doing a quick search I would have had that type of sucess years ago. - Aiwanei, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21I have been with my Girlfriend for 2 years now, met her on IRC. And saying the only girls online are fat ugly or old is just stupid. You do realize that mostly everyone is on the internet these days, so the odds of meeting someone there are a lot greater then going to a bar, since a bar is limited to the people in the room, the internet has many more options for people to meet.
- senorBojangles, on 10/12/2007, -9/+27It sure does!

That was the username field, not the password field - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18I've met several girlfriends on the internet, and some of them lasted longer than others, but none have been a success. So like any other dating you can meet someone on the internet, but just like every other dating, most of the time its not going to last.
- TheNakedChef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It's a two-way road, there will be some success stories and disasters. I met my ex online who I've lived with for 3 years then broke up.
I've also once dated a girl from South Africa, she was a absolutely stunning when it came to looks, but one thing about her was very obvious, she would do anything to appease a guy and not to mention that she was brining up the topic of getting married (her visa was running out in 6 months). At this point I've stopped dating her and just kept in contact as a friend.
She started dating new guy, 3 months later they got married. 1 year later they got divorced. She took half of his stuff and got permanent residency.
The moral of the story is that you got to be careful and use your had as well. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I've had about the same success. All of my serious relationships have been with women I've met in real life. The ones from the internet ended up being one-night-stands or really short-term relationships.
And I've had absolutely zero luck with dating sites. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15yeah i always use my had.
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19Newsflash, brainiacs: The people online are Earthlings, just like you! You can find love online or offline. You can find weirdos online or offline. Online relationships may last, but most wont. Just like offline.
Staggering, I know. - DrakeGTA, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16It's a trap!
- starsky51, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14i met my wife on #hornyhousewives. I said 'what the ***** are you doing here?!' :P
- CplSmithers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I met my better half over Xbox Live. They don't call Matchmaking that for nothing!
- jtek99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I met my girlfriend on Myspace. She's really attractive, as long as the lights are low and I only look at her from strange angles.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"...And you have a problem with this?"
I do now. Considering I'm 35, single and dating in DC sucks harder than the Dyson Ball. I'm to the point of settling down. Have been for a few years now. - DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1123r17i05o42n
Do you believe that? I met my wife online and she is anything but fat, ugly, or old. - treed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That's because no one here is stupid enough to pay that kind of money for something other sites do for free.
- dafrilla, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10met my wife on the internet.
she messaged me and it turned out we lived a block away from each other. that was 3 years ago,...been married for 2 of them.
we never got the people looking at us horridly when we told them we met through this series of tubes, we always got laughing,....lots and lots of laughing - PanXIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Posting a photo?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10"The ones from the internet ended up being one-night-stands or really short-term relationships"
...And you have a problem with this? - LogicBomB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Meeting online is fine. Dating online is not. Long-distance relationships over the internet are such *****. If I see one more person who says they "love" the person they've never met I'm going to scream.
It's great some people find happiness and end up married but going out and socializing isn't exactly hard to do and you do not need to go to a bar to do it either. - PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Does a relationship ever end without pain?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7WTF was your husband doing hitting on 15 year olds when he was 20!?!? Your husband is a sicko.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@geekdreams
You are an id0it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8The trick is not to get caught and not to give her your real name. I love my underage myspace friends.
- h0ly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@geekdreams:
C'mon, are you going to completely judge the guy based on a single wording?
You might as well remove the "geek" part on your nickname. - kaffein, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12Finding Pr0n is easier.
- Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That's cool, Weiran. Further proof that online match-ups can work. My mom met my, now, step dad on match.com and got married October 12th, 2004.
Here's 3 pics I have online from their wedding day.

- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7but not as satisfying.
- Flamekebab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6My girlfriend met me by randomly calling me over Skype. We've known each other in person for nearly a year and been properly dating for six months. I now go to university in her city too.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That made me lol. Thanks.
- Duositex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Just finished the second of two long-lasting relationships that started on the internet. Both ended painfully. I don't think I'll be doing it again.
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3how to use these internets to find the sexy time liquid explosion?
- PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I met a girl online, left her... She broke my had.
I mad that up. - tower31, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Who randomly IM's someone on yahoo? Is your wife a bot?
- swaxhog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I wish I had used my had.
- jameshighmore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4""We would watch movies together," she said."
Hmm. - iwantrevenge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I met my husband in an AOL chat room when I was 15 and he was 20. He came back from Iraq, visited me a couple months after I turned 18 in 2005 and we clicked right away. We've been married since April this year :D
- usmevans7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Good Game!
