- anaesthetica, on 10/08/2008, -1/+38I wish they would do this for Google Scholar, which would make keeping up with relevant research in a field much much easier.
- rivalius13, on 10/09/2008, -2/+23*Subscribes to "boobs" feed*
- dampfire, on 10/08/2008, -6/+27thats really big actually!
- AdInventive, on 10/09/2008, -1/+20Sounds more useful to seo architects and data miners than to regular users of the web.
- Exekutor, on 10/09/2008, -2/+12Can somebody please explain how this could be useful? Thanks
- marshallk, on 10/09/2008, -1/+10Hadn't even thought of Google Scholar - that's a great idea, a total no-brainer and better than images. Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of academics who still have no idea about RSS.
- zadadka, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6Business example : Marketing (new product comparisons etc)
Personal example : new site/page regarding favourite film star / rock band etc - ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -1/+6I'd imagine you'd have to be searching something reeeeeeally specific if you didn't want a flood of new posts taking over your feed reader each day.
- andre3000, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4At last ! Windows Live already offers the same functionality for more than a year now.

- kasama, on 10/09/2008, -1/+4I wish youtube had this.
- geeshock, on 10/09/2008, -1/+4Chocolate flavoured nipple tassels endorsed by Barack Obama?
- Pushkin, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3Try your own name....
- NathanRome, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2I'm excited about this because of the monitoring capabilities. I don't think it's necessarily meant to replace searching a specific topic, but if you want to continuously monitor one topic, but don't want to deal with the same Web sites every time on the first few pages of the search this really comes in handy. Also, for companies people and/or site owners, this enables you to keep tabs on what's being said/printed about you online without having to do a new Google search every day. I see it being useful for topics that you are continuously having to/wanting to monitor rather than just something you're interested in or looking for information about.
- beautifulbeast, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3For those like me who can't wait it, there's feedmysearch.com . I can't live without it and it's far more exhaustive and less obtrusive than Google Alerts.
- Bmarofsky, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3Have you tried Google Alerts?
- TeMerc, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2Wanna bet the malware scum are already looking to seed links into this?
In 5...4....3.......2.... - Zippo, on 10/09/2008, -2/+3Wow, that'll come in handy.
- GamingForever, on 10/09/2008, -8/+9Sounds cool but I don't think I will use it.
- silfiriel, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1I perfectly understand since I am a dork, but I don't see the point of it. they'll create something that will be there just to exist, nothing more.
- marnaq, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2I think they do already do through OpenSearch and GData.
http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/developers_gui ... - silfiriel, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1don't you find this a little bit ridiculous, I mean rss feeds for search results, what's the point of searching than anyway, I don't get it, and I don't see the use of it. will it be faster than regular search? how about variations, sometimes plural is more relevant than singular or vice versa you add a word , remove a word? what I'll make rss feeds for everything?
- Azriel7, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1I hope this includes custom search engines. I have some sites listed in a custom search and its a pain to constantly retype the same query every day to look and see if that item has listed or not.
- morphie, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1I'm sure it'll include sponsored links.
- phatphil, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1It seems that professors are reluctant to promote Scholar as a credible source and take it seriously as compared to traditional scholarly databases, probably because of its newness and simplistic approach. But it is an excellent research tool, and is quickly gaining popularity among students.
- thexray, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1Not really, just an upgrade of their Google Alerts.
- grexeo, on 10/09/2008, -3/+3Thanks!
- roadtripper, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1FWIW: I've been using Google Blog Search via RSS for a little over a year now (with my keywords) . . . granted, it only picks up blog/RSS-enabled sites, but it works great. And it's much more practical than Google Alerts.
Example - Here's a feed set up with "DIGG" as keyword:
http://www.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en&q=digg&btnG ...
Start here:
http://www.google.com/blogsearch - Kryptounderdog, on 10/09/2008, -3/+3To what result?
- nofate2029, on 10/09/2008, -2/+2Its a good idea but I don't know how often I would utilize it.
- Pushkin, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1Unobtrusive unless your search is large
- MeghnaK, on 10/09/2008, -7/+7This will be a really useful feature.
- KyleGoetz, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1Yup. In related news, I added the Google search for "Kyle Goetz" to my RSS feeds.
- thynamite, on 10/09/2008, -0/+0uh? How is this diff from google news rss?

- neocreo, on 10/09/2008, -2/+2not useless at all... Good way to keep your place on first page ranking easily visible when you do SEO.
- MrSpontaneous, on 10/09/2008, -4/+3Neither will I. Totally useless, in my opinion.
- uptown, on 10/09/2008, -2/+1They do .... you just have to do a little work with it to get it to work correctly. I use it on http://www.haha.com to build keyword-based queries of videos.
- spiralfunk, on 10/09/2008, -1/+0Google Alerts could possibly work with search parameter filetype:pdf, but not very well i'm afraid.
- malignatius, on 10/09/2008, -2/+1Sure why not?
- mahadiga, on 10/09/2008, -2/+1http://www.google.com/xml
- dnickelson, on 10/13/2008, -1/+0dork...you think it's ridiculous because you don't understand it? perhaps they should discontinue stem cell research, quantum memory and anything beyond a 2nd graders comprehension, because it's obviously all stoopid...
- marnaq, on 10/09/2008, -3/+1Feels good man
- Krissam, on 10/09/2008, -5/+2you hadn't thought of it, yet it was a "total no-brainer"... i dont know what to say about that.
- bonez56, on 10/09/2008, -7/+2fanfukntastic.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -8/+2People still care about web results!...thats a surprise!
- Phoenixheart, on 10/09/2008, -18/+4Google Search Results feeds? No thanks, my computer has only 200GB of storage and 1GB or RAM.
