- Mikecol, on 11/14/2007, -2/+217The site design didn't change very much in 40 years.
- elcidcannon, on 11/14/2007, -1/+195And the "Funerals" photo album is priceless!
- n8dawg87, on 11/14/2007, -1/+122Hold up! You forgot the 'notify me when my friends die' app or the 'bingo game' app or the 'name the bluegrass' song app or the 'digg...my grave' app or the 'hot or not: grandma edition' app. So many damn apps!!!!!
- hbweb500, on 11/14/2007, -4/+83I feel bad now, because my profile is essentially the same thing just with younger pictures.
When will people realize that bingo is a sport for all ages? - Atomic1fire, on 10/11/2007, -2/+44your also forgeting the large text
as some seniors have poor eyesight - StephanCom, on 11/14/2007, -2/+44Who only has 6 pix after 40 years?
- jull1234, on 11/14/2007, -1/+22You seem to forget that the old people of the future will be spinnin' 'classics' like Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Brittany Spears.
- JeffreyAtW, on 10/11/2007, -5/+25Facebook keeps getting more and more personal - its users disclose more and more all the time. I thought Facebook in 40 years would at least show something that tracks where the person is at all times and shows exactly what they are doing at that moment. I mean, come on!
- Autrix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18They should have changed the times of activity to around 5am until 9pm
also "Richard is at the post office" would have been great. - Pheter, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18For the full size version:
http://www.creativebinge.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/oldfacebook_fullsize.gif - alamody, on 11/14/2007, -1/+15Where are the "Children in other networks" and "Grandchildren in other networks" sections?
- mzider, on 10/11/2007, -3/+17I sure hope I don't look like that when I am 64...didn't that dude look like he was in his 80's?
- jus1haz2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13ya and they will probably still have that weird corner.
- tomi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+121:34am? Hmm, that can't be right.
- airwalkery2k, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11It would also likely include a copy of your DNA so you could compare with friends, a full body scan, and biometrics.
- nhprm, on 10/11/2007, -5/+16Its amazing that everyone who does not think this is remotely creative or funny is being dugg down... They didn't change anything (vis a vis colleges being replaced possibly with retirement homes [or, frankly, anything funny] etc).. I thought it would be a mock indictment of the future, decline of internet, wot wot. That was LAME!
- chuckmo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13oh boy! where can i find the "colestral" application?!?
- richardstelmach, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Thanks for the comments all, and the diggs. I would say Facebook is just an example showing how at the moment the older generation don’t use the internet as much as our generation but in 40 years we’ll all still be using it and this could be quite a big cultural change and also transform the internet.
I realise the internet + sites could look very different in the future as I say I was mainly interested in the social change + I found it quite amusing!
I’m glad it’s being thought provoking / entertaining for you all!
Cheers,
Rich - SilverBlade2k, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13I would think in 40 years, the internet will be completely 3D, almost like a virtual reality world, where one could choose a 'skin' like in some shooter games, and people could talk to eachother, shake eachother's hand, all in a 3D environment.
This would require V.R suits and glasses. Or it would be like the Holodeck in Star Trek... - coollettuce, on 11/14/2007, -0/+9In the future we will have eye lenses by Nikon.
I hope... - reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -11/+20Haha I love the photo album: "Funerals".
- elleanee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+940 years from now?? from the looks of great-great-grandpa richard, it's more like 75 years from now.
- Chazzer3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I think after being on Facebook there would be more than 6 photos of him as well. I was expecting on of the jokes to be, 'Photos of you (103,042)' or something... Funny nonetheless...!
- CarIos, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Only 15 wall posts in 40 years?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Yeah, I read it. Thanks.
- carl689, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I was taught in gerontology that that generation has played Bingo there entire life. Most likely my generation will have Texas Hold'em , then that activity will be associated with old people.
- thepuma77, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Web 2.0 forever baby!!! Or at least the next forty years.
- macabaret, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9In 40 years the kids won't even understand the term "spinnin'"; it will be just one more way grandpa dates himself
- nottanner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Y-o-u-'-r-e means you are. Y-o-u-r means your..
- DarkoKun, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Getting old is gonna suck :(
- Wilson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Apparently 60 year old Facebook app makers can't spell :P
- Jok3r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Why would it? We are talking about our generations. I would probably include hating bush and ect. ect.
- lastthingusee, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Yeah, pretty much.
- daRoach, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7In the future your means you're.
- KatieBee, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7or more likely,
404 Not Found - DanAtkinson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5You're more than welcome to submit something that you deem more creative.
- Pilgrim, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6They`ll have a GPS application that will interface with your cell phone, which will let people see where you are at all times.
- Falldog, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I thought, wow, they sure added a lot of ads at first, but then I realized it was the damn website.
- elsJake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4if I'm going to be in a nursing home at that age I'll just be passing by twice a week ....to see the nurses...

/Adblocker Plus =D - sleepwalkers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Of course it's right. They go to bed at about 5 PM and get up around 2-3 AM.
- Speed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That may not be a bad idea for old people... That way you can find a sutible kidney donor.
- chicagobiker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I'm pretty sure the point of Mashable is to help the little guy get noticed.
They have a link to the little guy at the bottom of the story.
Or are you one of those who's also against Boing Boing too? - patrickloggins, on 10/11/2007, -6/+9Who says we'll be playing bingo? Not every generation played bingo.
