I thought Facebook in 40 years would at least show something that tracks where the person is at all times and shows exactly what they are doing at that moment. I mean, come on!

They didn't change anything (vis a vis colleges being replaced possibly with retirement homes [or, frankly, anything funny] etc).. I thought it would be a mock indictment of the future, decline of internet, wot wot. That was LAME!

I would say Facebook is just an example showing how at the moment the older generation don’t use the internet as much as our generation but in 40 years we’ll all still be using it and this could be quite a big cultural change and also transform the internet.

    I realise the internet + sites could look very different in the future as I say I was mainly interested in the social change + I found it quite amusing!

    I’m glad it’s being thought provoking / entertaining for you all!

  • SilverBlade2k, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13I would think in 40 years, the internet will be completely 3D, almost like a virtual reality world, where one could choose a 'skin' like in some shooter games, and people could talk to eachother, shake eachother's hand, all in a 3D environment.

    This would require V.R suits and glasses. Or it would be like the Holodeck in Star Trek...
