- plaguepony, on 06/16/2009, -2/+62However MySpace still leads in the number of skanks.
- dkarimi, on 06/16/2009, -11/+64***** Myspace.
- zephc, on 06/16/2009, -1/+53MySpace doesn't have that many users - half the accounts are spam and cheesy "indy" rock bands who all want to be your friend.
- kgibby, on 06/16/2009, -3/+54a year or so from now:
YouTwitFace dethrones Facebook in the U.S. - borez, on 06/16/2009, -1/+37MySpace should be renamed MySpam.
- fuckingusername, on 06/16/2009, -0/+20my space needs more sparkle graphics, and more audio players that start when you enter the page, oh and don't let forget them gay photo slide shows.
- solid12345, on 06/16/2009, -1/+20I rarely if never get friended though by bands and fake profiles on Facebook
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -2/+19Which are all moving to Facebook thus the increase in Facebook users.
- wassim2k, on 06/16/2009, -1/+18MySpace could have more users if every page you go to didn't crash your browser.
- ifruit, on 06/16/2009, -0/+16Followed only by Adult Friend Finder.
- zephc, on 06/16/2009, -0/+14But how will you know what their favorite bands are if they don't have 10 different music player playing said favorite bands' music simultaneously??
- boxxa, on 06/16/2009, -0/+14Your chances of getting laid or at least finding worthwhile jailbait pics are higher on myspace than facebook.
- juzsp, on 06/16/2009, -0/+11Thats why everyone's saying "***** MySpace!"
- shannimal, on 06/16/2009, -0/+9Due to a rise in epileptic seizures from Myspace users.
- UselessTrivia, on 06/16/2009, -3/+12***** Myspace would be a MUCH more popular site.
- Arramol, on 06/16/2009, -0/+9Now if Facebook will stop becoming the monster it just defeated, everything will be happy. I swear, it keeps getting more script-heavy and bloated and less useful.
- kamdori, on 06/16/2009, -1/+9Probably because everyone's parents joined FB. That's just how cool it is.
Anyway, yawn. Like everyone else is saying, FB will just be dethroned when the next trendy site hits. - RileyCourage, on 06/16/2009, -2/+9MySpace still exists?
- compguy, on 06/16/2009, -0/+7You're about two years off...
- astorygirl, on 06/16/2009, -4/+11With its increasingly geriatric audience, will Facebook maintain its #1 spot...?
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -0/+6Probably because Facebook is Myspace for adults who actually want to keep in touch with their friends and has a distinct lack of eye and ear -cancer inducing backgrounds and songs on profile pages.
- fluidfoundation, on 06/16/2009, -3/+9eat that, tweens.
- kelvlam, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4And as a result, MySpace Slashes Staff by 30 Percent
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/16/myspace-s ... - jba68, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4I have abandoned myspace, but logged in last week and it is all changed around. What is that all about. Where are my shiny flashy thingies I had on my page to annoy everyone
- Elranzer, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3MySpace = NewsCorp = Massive Phail
- gumballer, on 06/16/2009, -2/+5***** Myspace, Facebook and Twitter.
- mzkply, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3In Canada, and around the rest of the world, nobody is on Myspace. It's all Facebook...
It's only a matter of time before MySpace dies. Poor Rupert Murdoch! - JHB207, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Are you reading the same article everybody else is?
- jedinate, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Probably. Older people are much less likely to move to the next flavor of the month.
- staticfire, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3Buried because you censored yourself
- Nobi-Wan, on 06/16/2009, -3/+6Agreed. MySpace is like the Tijuana of the internet.
- derekmas10, on 06/16/2009, -0/+3pour one out for myspace. no, wait... myspace aint worth it
buh-bye - squelched, on 06/16/2009, -4/+7***** myspace and facebook.
- NorCalAngler, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2The other half are accounts that Myspace won't let people close unless they jump through ridiculous hoops like taking a photo. I've tried five times to delete my account and the e-mail miraculously never arrives in my Hotmail account. And, yes, I looked in the Spam folder.
- jedinate, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2"Orkut?"
Those people all died. - damnshoes, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2great site..
i meet a couple of women. - chikispirit, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2I have actually found my Facebook account handy for finding old friends. For instance, it put me in touch with someone I had never seen for twenty odd years and hadn't imagined I would ever see again. Some of the applications are pretty innocuous and fun ( if one has plenty of spare time) but the articles are better.
I was pleased to be able to put my own music on MySpace. I have also been put in touch with some extremely friendly people who are interested in pursuing their musical careers there.
Both good networking sites. Personally, I would rate MySpace slightly higher than Facebook. - diggdowner, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2I guess none of you MySpace haters have friends who are also musicians?
And wasn't it not that long ago that you were all saying ***** about Facebook (rightfully so) over privacy concerns? That is if you didn't abandon it outright when Facebook allowed more than just college students to join. - dbeldowicz, on 06/16/2009, -0/+2MySpace has been dead for awhile, but with the way these sites explode in popularity...WHO's NEXT?
- Elranzer, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Tom?
- DCstewieG, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Actually I believe we're about 991 years from that.
- TheMachine1, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Opera's Unite is a plan to dethrone Facebook.
- Elranzer, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Orkut?
- JHB207, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1I have just about done the same, just check in to see if any of the stragglers who haven't or don't want to switch to FB for some dumb reason send me a message..
- iericg, on 06/16/2009, -1/+2What killed it for me on Myspace was the game Mobster. One day a friend sends me an invite. Three weeks later I have over 500 friends and my account becomes unmanageable. Since then I switched over to Facebook. Now if anyone waste my time by posting / sending invites to play a social networking game I immediately take them out of my friends list. The same concept applies to my Twitter account.
- JHB207, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1Im having this problem myself now on FB. I almost wish I never started playing Mafia Wars and Be a tycoon. But I like them, just has made my account crazy with way to many friends. Wish that app friends were totally seperate from real life. I know you can group your friends but it would take me forever to do it now.
- sodade, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1At this point, my musician friends are the only ones left on myspace.
- MScrip, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1I don't know if anyone will try to take on Facebook.. in this day and age.
Friendster was first... but because it was first, no one really knew what social networking was all about.
Then came Myspace and Facebook. Both had rapid growth and amazing popularity... but one finally won.
So there's only really been 2 of these sites anywhere close to being popular. Who will attempt to build a better site than Facebook?
Or the better question... if Facebook, with all of its 200 million users, can't make money... who will fund a brand new competitor? - ProfessorSYM, on 06/16/2009, -6/+7***** Facebook too.
- TheXuu, on 06/16/2009, -1/+2***** on MySpace.. Is it dangerous?
