- Whitey04, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I just follow the motto: "Advertisers fulleth the crapeth."
- Lord_oftheTrons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Great site, I just saw it on the front page of msnbc this morning. There were some real shady ads and product changes that he caught. Stuff I would never notice, like net weight of products being cut, even though they retain the same size and labels on the product.
My favorite was Boston car ads listing ~21k cars for 9k. The catch, it would say -$7500 cash or trade. That is completely bogus, as you are not saving anything, just paying more up front. Complete hogwash. - swarren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I love the Snoop Dog/Orbit Gum disclaimer: "Dramatization. Orbit gum will not get you into heaven.” I'll have to pay more attention to the actual commercial the next time it runs on TV.
- Matic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Too bad the websites so confusing that I didn't find one thing useful or an example of a company doing this. No Digg.
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Or good ol' George Carlin's obervation:
"Whoever coined the phrase 'let the buyer beware' must have been bleeding from the *****."
This is a great idea for a site, but it needs to expand a lot more before it becomes truly useful. A redesign wouldn't hurt either. - Khuffie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ya, the website's design is absolutely horrendous. Makes it really hard to focus on anything or get anything. Jeez.
- NapoleonGold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OMG awful looking site
BUT ABSOLUTLEY AWESOME
Thx and +DUGG
With any luck this site will get streamlined and have a million plus visitors a day and really call those douchebag companies to the mat. - PrayerNeeder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think Meathead (loaf)'s "I want my money back" fits nicely.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2From the website:
* NOTE:
This website is ugly as sin and will frustate you to no end if you try to comprehend how to navigate it. - DCstewieG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How pointless. What does this site offer me? Yes it's fine print, but it's THERE. What dimwit who ignores fine print is going to take the time to visit this site? It's not like these are investigative reports to see how you are getting screwed. THE ADS TELL YOU. If you don't understand how a car could cost so little per month (hint: trade-in, large down payment or balloon payment, etc.) or why it might not be a good idea to return a car within 30 days (restocking fee, etc.) maybe you shouldn't be buying a car in the first place. Consult someone with a brain or better yet, stay off the road and away from me.
- dworsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dear Diggers... the original poster picked an inside, non-story page of Mouse Print* to link to. Things will seem much more logical if you visit the homepage at http://www.mouseprint.org
- joemono, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why are toothpaste and toilet paper categorized under "Food?" No wonder Edgar is pissed! He's not getting as many toothpaste and toilet paper sandwhiches for his money as he used to.
- GlassUser, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Advertising doesn't have a head. How could it be literally turned on it?
- hardkorn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0woo, step right up by tom waits is the best song ever
