Echostar can't get Coolstar customer data in DMCA case

arstechnica.com — A Federal court Monday moved to block satellite TV provider Echostar's attempted acquisition of hundreds of thousands of customer records from distributors of hackable "Coolsat" receivers. Echostar is suing Coolsat's manufacturer under the DMCA, claiming the company abets piracy.
