http://quicksketch.org/node/747 - silentdragoon, on 11/22/2007, -0/+7"Drupal (pronounced /ˈdruːpəl/) is a free and open source modular content management system (CMS) written in the programming language PHP. A CMS is a tool used by Web administrators to automatically track online visitors and prepare customized content for consumption, usually as HTML-based Web pages. Drupal, like many modern CMSs, allows the system administrator to customize the content and display of the Web site with little or no programming."

We're short on people and short on time, so here's the bottom line. Without your assistance and contributions, there will be no Views for Drupal 6 within any useful timeframe. If we don't have Views 2 ready for the D6 release date, the vast majority of casual users might not even bother to download and try Drupal 6. That would be bad, so you need to get involved in helping to complete Views 2 so this scenario doesn't happen!"
Drupal needs your help! - bertboerland, on 11/22/2007, -0/+3no, we still need weight under the hood and for lots of other things as well. The GUI might have changed, the (light)weight is still there.
- fugazied, on 11/22/2007, -0/+3Takes a while to see the real power of drupal, once a few key modules are in place its incredible. The only thing that put me off drupal was the high number of DB calls to render a content page, but they've been addressing that in Drupal 6. Will be great!
- 7thCommander, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2What are the main improvements found in Drupal 6? I hope the messageboard has been looked at.
- zwaldowski, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2What is Views?
- bertboerland, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2changelog is your friend

nice addition! - inactive, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1I'd like to see a decent link manager for Drupal that has support for unlimited subcategories. Its really a shame most CMSes today do not have link managers and the few that do dont support more than 1 subcategory (except for Xoops and PhpNuke).
Yeh I know there are modules to add on to do this, but they are buggy and messy when doing upgrades. Id like to see it become part of the core. - bertboerland, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1not as stupid question as it sounds... see http://drupal.org/project/views
basically a GUI around creating "views" of content (think SQL with a GUI). You can do stuff like, show me all articles from teh recent month with more then 20 comments and less then 100 pageviews and create an RSS feed from that as well. - Rowanw, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1Point taken.
- cronebulax, on 11/22/2007, -1/+2I am sooo excited about this! Soon we can lose the weight system altogether. Yay!
- nborda, on 11/23/2007, -0/+1I think what erot9296 is taliing about has to do with my post in the Drupal forums (http://drupal.org/node/147858). I have done what you are taking about in several ways, but I just can't get the links to work directly from a node title, any ideas?
- the1secondfilm, on 11/22/2007, -2/+3love to see drupal improving the UI. kudos to the developers.
- amoeba, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1something like a query builder for content items to display
- NightcrawlerX, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1Hope the stability and security has been improve in this version.
- hockeysmurf, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1It's annoying with Beta's because most of the modules are not officially supported. So we wait patiently...
- bigal90, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1at first glance i though this said drugpal...
- Rowanw, on 11/22/2007, -0/+0It's probably not hard to create this with Taxonomy , CCK and Views. Although I have no idea how a link manager is supposed to work.
- superkev07, on 12/05/2007, -0/+0Boo. This is exactly the kind of problem we're having with Drupal. Listen, we all get that Drupal was meant to do many, many things. But that doesn't mean that it has to be a "Jack of all trades, Master of none." The blogging could be MUCH better. The forums could actually look and behave like any of the numerous free bulletin board applications online. The reason I choose Drupal is because I want a website where a person can use the forum, write a blog, etc all with ONE login, using ONE database... trying to accomplish this by tying together existing programs individually would be a ridiculous undertaking. Enter Drupal. It should be the solution, but its still not there completely, because instead of the forum, blogs, etc being improved, too many of its developers have the same thought process as you.
- ghoch, on 04/06/2008, -0/+0New Drupal is the best!

Joomla, despite its problems, has the biggest range of components and modules to extend its versatility. When 1.5 comes out of Beta, ridding us completely of tables, it will be a true force to be reckoned with.
- e03179, on 11/22/2007, -4/+2Use Drupal to make powerful web apps. Use WordPress to make pages.
- joshbachynski, on 11/22/2007, -5/+0Drupal is quite good, another really good web based CMS is Sitellite: http://www.sitellite.org
If you like Drupal but you want something easier you may like Sitellite.
