Digg Needs a NSFW Button!
techspews.com — Many of the articles on Digg have SFW or NSFW by them. I think it would be a good idea for Digg to add a report as NSFW button, and when you get enough votes like with the inaccurate button it puts by the article NSFW.
- 221 diggs
- digg it
- MaLaCoiD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34And then you can just browse only the NSFW stories when you get home to... catch up.
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1(not trying to hijack)
Why did this just disappear from the front page? Seems kind of odd... - sirloin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3most NSFW stuff is banned on digg
read the terms of use. - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Why did this just disappear from the front page"
Probably reported as "Lame" or something.
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1(not trying to hijack)
- franksmith, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Digg.... being considerate?
Why start now? - Itazura, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Shouldn't you be working at work anyways? tsk tsk
- ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11....shhh.
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey, I only read when I'm compiling/deploying (actually that's true... usually).
- g0atbutt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5hmm...
Would this make digg closer to a pr0n site... perhaps.
Will this make the majority of digg users happier... most certainly.
You know what to do kevin. - sicc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Just make a NSFW category so we can submit stuff when celebs forget to wear panties. =o
- evilesttoast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You mean it isn't a porn site?
- gregdigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5That is what I want everything to turn into.
- Clark3934, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We need a similar voting system to the one they have at ytmnd.com
- mogus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What about a "digg effect" button that redirects the story link at the top of the page automatically to duggmirror if the site is down. With some things (like images) I always go to the comments first because I figure that the site is already down. Just a thought.
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a Firefox extension that does just that
- WPLXB70, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just make a little logo that appears next to the article (like the "My #1" button), that the submitter can check on the submission page.
- Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the point is for the community to decide whether it is safe or not for work.
- iheartbeer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"the point is for the community to decide whether it is safe or not for work."
Yeah, because that won't be abused at all like hijacking the first post...
- thefirstenemy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's also important for the submitter to be able to add the NSFW button.
- pjdoland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg could use the new class="nsfw" standard promoted here:
http://pj.doland.org/archives/041628.php
http://pj.doland.org/archives/041577.php - Penpal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just think that this would encourage people being less productive.
Come on, we all have jobs. - hokkos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No need to a NSFW button, cause digg not supposed to host NSFW things.
If there is one NSFW button, it will be the begining of the end. - drcreek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4WE NEED THIS TAG!
Here is an example of why it needs it.

Sounds innocent doesn't it.
Go on digg reader I dare you! Think boss won't mind a bit of rudeness? Click it while at work with the sound up full.
I BLOODY WELL DARE YOU. - IncognitoCraven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why the ***** are you reading digg on the job? Get back to work you wanker!
- johlin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, this shouldn't be on the bury-button since a NSFW story doesn't necessarily need to be buried but yes, a NSFW-button would be nice.
- Kraevin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree that digg needs a nsfw tag. I dont think it should be linked with the bury tag. There are good articles that are unfortunately filled with adds for adult content. One that comes to mind to me is one that had screen shots from all the different versions of Windows. the article was kind cool but the adds had nothing to do with the article but featured nudity.
